“You have to join the waitlist as this restaurant is really busy. But the wait is good due to the quality of their Dim Sum. Service is fast as long as you already know what to order. You have to scan the QR code provided to you and choose your order from the “
“I miss when this place had big bao. I noticed they only offer "2-piece" options now and it's small bao. What they had before was just HUGE bao in a single piece and it was great. Flavors are still good but now everything is smaller... except for the golden yolk bao, somehow they got bigger and they no longer sell three in a pack. But it's harder to eat that way because of how liquid the center is“
“Lunasia is always a solid choice for dim sum these days no matter what city Cerritos, Monterey park or Pasadena. All of them have a decent sized menu. Whether you're craving dim sum for lunch or dinner it's always good. Depending on where you go the staff is always busy, Monterey park has a pretty long line most of the time. But you can also try and order through the kiosk, app or online. If you don't mind waiting in line for a Chinese dining experience then you'll get the full Saturday and Sunday lunch experience. Overall they're always pack let and very busy but the food is solid.“
“Highly recommend Happy Morning. Met a couple of friends here for a nice family style dinner. The service was very quick and staff was very kind and welcoming. The place is tucked in a corner of the Vons plaza by Rite Aid, on the other end of the plaza to other eateries, popping yolk, four seas, boiling point. The food was nicely portioned, perfect for family style and everything was fresh and very delicious. The decor was modern and very clean. 5 adults and 2 toddlers left very full and satisfied with left overs to boot. We tried a variety of veggie, noodle soup, fried rice, half chicken and everything tasted great. Growing up in San Gabriel/alhambra this place reminded me of the spots I grew up eating at, now I have a great food spot not far from the house. Can't wait to come back!“
“If you're looking for authentic Cantonese/Food off the beaten path (on the west side of HH) without having to compete with all the traffic (between Azusa Road and Nogales), check out Cocoin. It's run by a really cool couple. I'd say their food is definitely a strong 4 but their service and how nice they are bumps it up to a 5. There's plenty of seating inside. It's not huge but if you need tables for large parties of 8 to 10, they have those as well as smaller tables for parties of 4 or 6. There's plenty of parking outside. I've visited numerous times over the last few years and I'd say everything we've eaten so far from beef chow fun to hainan chicken hovers around 4 stars. Their hainan chicken is bone-in unlike Cluck 2 Go. Their portion size like their pork chop dishes (i.e ging do pai gwut) is a really good value (especially now a days) and their wok hay for their stir fries and chow fun is good. I particularly enjoy their herbal drinks which can vary from day to day.“
“A GREAT! Spot, with the nicest staff i was low on money and just wanted somethin kinda small and only had 12$ and she gavr mr another meal that costed more cuz she thought what i could afford wouldnt fill me up lol the sweetest staff ever! And the food was bomb!“
“Decided to visit to this spot-on Thanksgiving Day 2023! Honestly, not sure what to expect, as soon we walked in, we were happily greeted and seated right away! I noticed there were a ton of to go orders. Partner and I were craving our typical Chinese food orderSalt and Pepper Calamari – Crunchy, seasoned well, not too spicySzechwan Eggplant – hint of spice, stayed hot (temperature wise) the whole timeBeef Chow Fun w gravy – Tender beef, flavorful noodsDuck – typical, very good except, it came out room temp.BBQ Pork – Typical and just like the duck – room temp.If you are in or near the area and can’t get to Alhambra or Rosemead, let’s say you live in Whittier, City of Industry, Avocado Heights then this is your spot. =)Missing star – I was quite surprised at the price of 2 Bbq item combo $31? Check out how small the portion was.“
“Major selling point of authentic taste, and that promise was mostly delivered.Three dishes are excellent, better than anywhere else, and will return for more:Shredded chicken has very good texture and excellent flavor. No ginger dip provided because it's already mixed in.Beef offal has sweetbread (pancreas ) , tripe and stomach. Very good flavor and good sauce.Lamb hotpot is very good to excellent, miso dip will persuade people who don't like the lamby gamey to love it.Three are recommended, but similar could be available elsewhere :Stir fry pork liver has good temperature control resulting in good texture, but the sauce is a little heavy for my taste.Long beans with minced pork was good to fair.Hot pot rice was fair. Good flavor but I want more crispy burnt rice at the bottom.Only dish I don't recommend is the noodles in Peking sauce. The flavor was off, not what I expected. Also tried beef offal rice noodles soup. Good to very good. And the serving is huge. Best buy.The steamed egg white desert is fair to good. Not too sweet. The chef has a tendency for bigger flavors. Perfect for anyone who does not like blandness. Overall strongly recommended.Vegetarian options: A vegetarian section available on menuDietary restrictions: Ask before ordering. Not impossibleParking: Large strip mall outdoor parkingKid-friendliness: Fair to good kid friendly. Not much hazard . Saw families dining. Didn't ask for or seen high chair.Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp to curb, swing glass doors. Fair spacing between tables and clear lane to toilet“
“Extremely rude and poor service if you don't speak their language. Older lady and older man walk away if you stall ordering and help others then come back when they have time, making you wait. The restaurant is busy any time of the day. It's family restaurant where all ages are eating. Porridge of variety is good for all ages. Their wonton soon with egg noodles is pretty good also. They only deal cash so make sure to take plenty of cash to try all kinds of dishes with friends or family. If you can tolerate waiting then I recommend it. I would have given 5 stars but rudeness can't be accepted.“
“Typical Hong Kong style cafe. The environment is very noisy. Ideal for gathering but you need to speak louder ?Price and portion are reasonable.Recommend minced beef rice with egg on the top. The ingredients just matched.I like the Hong Kong style lemon Ice tea.The location is convenient.“
“Good old Sam Woo. Solid, reasonable, tasty food consistently. We're still mourning the closing of the stores in Irvine. Often take advantage of the multitude of stores in SGV when we are visiting. We were in the Seal Beach area, jumped onto the I-605, and were at the Cerritos store in about 15 minutes. It had been a long day and we just wanted takeout to take home and eat. Got a whole roast duck, cut up, and an order of chicken chow fun dry. Can't go wrong with those dishes. Great to have that consistent quality without driving up to San Gabriel Valley.“
