“Food is average, the sesame ball are good though. My only reason why I go here is just for the sesame ball. I tried everything else and it's meh, service are sometimes good and there's times it's bad. I find the place a bit dirty to my liking too, parking is tight as well.“

“The roast duck is juicy, Char Siu is tender and juicy. It’s under new management and Beef Stir Fry rice noodles is most popular. Prices are very reasonable. No pictures because before I can do so… food are mostly gone 🤣 will come back for sure“

“Great food and amazing service!
Parking is super easy since it’s located in a huge plaza.
I got here around 11:00 AM and waited in line for about 20 minutes. The line was mostly filled with older people speaking Cantonese, which told me right away that this place is super authentic!
The Beef Chow Fun is super flavorful and comes in a huge portion.
Their $12.99 breakfast combo is also a great deal with a huge portion—though it's pretty much pure carbs! And the best part is they still let you order it even after the breakfast hours.
You also get free refills on the Hong Kong style milk tea, and you can even take it to go for free. The iced version is the best, especially in the summer!
Unlike a lot of other places where the food is good but the service is terrible, the staff here is incredibly welcoming and friendly. Highly recommend!“

“We had a good experience dining here for breakfast after weeks of craving Hong Kong style milk tea and french toast. Super glad to have tried this place out! Menu is very budget friendly, the portions are huge and the customer service is superb. Will definitely come back to this place.“

“Stopped by Bao Kee Cafe a few times and really enjoy their food. The shop itself is on the smaller side, so seating can be a bit limited—because of that, I usually just order takeout.
My wife typically places the orders online, so I don’t always know the exact dish names, but we’ve had a variety of their rice plates with different meats and vegetables, along with dishes like steamed pork ribs and fried fish. Everything we’ve tried so far has been consistently good and satisfying.
The staff are usually friendly, which always makes the experience better. Overall, a solid spot for a quick and tasty meal—especially if you’re grabbing it to go.“

“The food is always good from here. I love the dumplings and soup dumplings. They make really good drinks. You order on your phone at the table if you eat inside. I just order mine before I get there to go. Parking lot gets full but if you don’t mind a little walk in a food heaven shopping center.“

“I really enjoyed the BBQ meats at Auntie’s Kitchen in San Gabriel. The BBQ pork, roast pork, and roast duck were all delicious, and each one had its own standout flavor and texture.
The roast pork was especially good—the skin was really crispy and crunchy, while the meat inside stayed juicy and tender. The roast duck was also excellent, with a wonderful aroma and rich, savory flavor. The meat was juicy, tender, and very flavorful.
The restaurant itself is a bit small, but it feels cozy and comfortable. Overall, it’s a great spot if you’re craving flavorful Chinese BBQ meats. I’d definitely come back for the roast pork and roast duck!“

“Not every meal has to be at the trendiest restaurant.
Sometimes all you need is a classic Hong Kong cafe, a table full of comfort food, and a game playing in the background.
We stopped by JJ Hong Kong Cafe in Monterey Park and tried their Curry Combination Rice, Beef Brisket Lo Mein, Baked Pork Chop Macaroni, Deep Fried Cornish Hen, Fried Chili Turnip Patties, and French Toast.
The French Toast with ice cream was easily one of the most memorable dishes on the table. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and perfect for sharing.
The atmosphere felt old-school and casual — the kind of neighborhood spot where people come for a relaxed meal, late-night cravings, or to catch a game with friends.

“Capital Seafood is one of our favorite Chinese restaurants. We live more than an hour away, but we gladly make the trip every time because the food is excellent. However, what truly makes our experience special is Mia’s exceptional service.
As Mexicans, we deeply value warmth and hospitality, and Mia makes us feel at home every time we visit. Her approach is genuine, kind, attentive, and always accompanied by a sincere smile. Not only does she provide impeccable service, but she also creates a memorable experience that keeps us coming back again and again.
In an industry where great service makes all the difference, Mia stands out for her professionalism, dedication, and genuine care for others. People like her are hard to find and represent the very best of hospitality.
If you have the opportunity to visit Capital Seafood, I highly recommend requesting a table served by Mia. Without a doubt, she is one of the best servers we have ever met and one of the main reasons we continue to return.“

“Literally blown away by the authenticity of the Guilin rice noodles. Portions are big and very very authentic, you get 螺蛳 (snail) and 锅烧 (crispy pork). I also liked how the vibe of the restaurant was super chill and relaxing. No one is rushing you to order or pay, really enjoyed our time here.“

“The place was empty so we were initially a bit doubtful. I’m glad we made the decision to stay because ALL of their dishes were delicious, not just their Hainan chicken but also their beef, wings, and even their stir fried veggies tastes like it came from much bigger restaurants.“

“First time every eating in a restaurant on a styrafoam plate, but it didn't take away from my meal. Tried out their noodles with beef and I found it to be quite tasty with the sauce. Small simple little place, tempted to return for their breakfast and evening specials“

“Me and a group of 8 members chose to go to this hidden Cantonese cuisine for dinner tonight. We bought one large lobster about 4.7 pounds and two Dungeness crab about 4 pounds to 加工。The lobster and crab were perfectly prepared. We were also able to taste the freshness. We also ordered beef tendon, chicken salad, on choy, etc. the best part was the steam egg. The dessert was the best. Definitely recommend this place for Cantonese food.“
“After a long day in Alhambra, we chose to explore Monterey Park for some dim sum and we stumbled upon Steam Fresh. Their menu is very straight forward with classic dim sum to choose from and more. Everything was so good and fresh! The drinks we got were amazing and the best part of them were free refills! Our server was super attentive as well despite working the register and handing out delivery orders by herself. Definitely coming back here as we had a very pleasant experience overall.“

“After several years of eating here I can finally say that I've perfected our family order. Appetizer: Dumplings
Soup: Egg Flower
Noodles: Chicken Lo Mein
Mains: Cashew Chicken and Broccoli Beef (honestly I told my husband that the Broccoli beef could be swapped for whatever he wants because he likes fried food so this will be swapped from time to time)
Side: Garlic Green Beans (these are the absolute most DELICIOUS green beans I have ever eaten)
The soup gets refills.
The food is freshly made and so yummy.
This is not fast food it's cooked family style and with flavor.
One of the few food gems in Montebello.“

“From the outside this looks like a hole in the wall place in a strip mall but inside it's huge and magical! We had a party of 200 people in there and there was still areas for other pattons.
Aside from most of the staff not speaking English to tell us what we were eating when it was brought out we figured it out and everything was uniquely different in its own way!
I usually take food pics but I didn't this time! P.S beer was only 5 bucks a bottle!“

“Top Island is a classic gem in Alhambra for authentic Cantonese cuisine and dim sum. We came here for dinner and were blown away by the variety and quality. The Salt and Pepper Shrimp & Squid was perfectly crispy and seasoned, and the Empress Chicken was incredibly tender with that signature ginger-scallion dipping sauce. We also loved the Beef with Tomato—so savory and comforting! The atmosphere is bustling and traditional, perfect for big family gatherings. Great service and very reasonable prices for the portion sizes. Definitely a go-to spot in the area!“

“This restaurant has good foods at reasonable prices. They have many choices on the menu. They serve big portions of foods. We ordered broccoli beef and walnut shrimps which come with a big bowl of pork meat/bones with vegetables soup and a big bowl of steam rice for daily lunch specials.
Waitresses also gave us attentive services.
We will come back for good foods and good services.“

“Fantastic HK noodle house in the heart of Monterey Park. The slow braised beef is fantastic, the noodles are supposedly flown in from Hong Kong, the wontons are fresh (but a little salty for my taste), the soup base is on point. Sort of a hole in the wall kinda feel decor, owner speaks English Mandarin and Cantonese. Aside from the some what lack of parking situation (street parking only), there's really nothing to dislike. Price is fair too. Would come again and explore more of the menu.“

“This is a very small dim sum place, one two table for 4 person, and 2 tables for 2. So maximum only 12 people can dine it. However, the dim sum here is one of the best we have had. Siu mai was rich in flavor and meaty. Stick rice and cheong fun were both top notched. Xiao longbao was juicy too. Due to the small dining area, I imagined it will be difficult at peak hour. Or you just need to take out. But if you do take out, the dim sum may not taste as good. Dilemma. But we were very happy with the food and service.“

“In our special dinner for fresh graduated and friends, Sea Harbor Seafood restaurant presents authentic Cantonese/Hong Kong style dishes. I like their barbecue combo , walnut shrimp, steamed fish and Typhoon shelter style crab. I have been curious why called it Typhoon shelter? If anyone knows please let me know. Dessert is and always is red bean tangshui with tiny boba balls. I gave 4 Star rating on service and atmosphere. Service has no interaction, because in service industry , one can't assume patrons knows about Chinese food. Atmosphere is plain and the outside of the restaurant seemed have been unchanged for a long time. Need to get fengshui going! :)“

“We love this no frill HK BBQ cafe. The auntie that works here makes you feel right at home, including the home-y flavors. The food is not over-seasoned or heavy on MSG. We thoroughly enjoyed the roast duck here, light and moist. Additionally, everything is well-priced so we look forward to trying more dishes next time. Oh, and like all good Asian hosts, they bring you freshly cut fruit at the end of your meal!“

“KW is genuinely one of my all time favorite restaurants now. I go all the time with my boyfriend and I always am excited to try something new. The portion sizes for the prices are genuinely amazing. KW has fed me for 2 days once! I ate my dinner then I had enough leftovers still for two lunches at work. Their HK Style Lemon Tea and HK Style Milk Tea are genuinely the best I’ve ever tasted. I also highly recommend their Beef Wellington (I think it’s called KW Signature Filet Mignon) and any of their grilled category dishes. Their honey walnut shrimp is also DIVINE. Just know that this place is usually packed!!“

“Great old-school dim sum spot in Monterey Park! Came here on a weekday and loved the value — most dim sum items were only around $3.68, and the lobster special was a great deal. The traditional push cart style gives it a very classic Cantonese feel. Everything we ordered was tasty, especially the dim sum favorites. Will definitely come back!“
