“A classic Cantonese restaurant in LA that’s perfect for Lunar New Year gatherings
Honestly, the Lunar New Year vibe in Los Angeles isn’t always about lanterns or decorations —
sometimes it’s found in an old, reliable restaurant where the whole family can eat comfortably and happily 🥢
Before the Lunar New Year, I took my family to this Cantonese restaurant in Alhambra.
The environment was very comfortable, with spacious table spacing. You hear Cantonese all around, which feels truly authentic. The service was steady and reliable, and the staff were friendly and welcoming.
Their dishes aren’t flashy, but they’re the kind you can keep eating without getting tired of 👇
🍃 Lotus leaf–steamed frog: light and delicate, very tender, and easy to enjoy bite after bite
🧄 Typhoon shelter–style clams: perfectly garlicky, served hot and quickly cleaned off the plate
🦑 Salt-and-pepper fresh squid: crispy outside with a nice chew inside, cooked just right
🥬 Stir-fried pea shoots: clean and refreshing — a must on any shared table
🍜 Dry-fried beef chow fun: not greasy, noodles intact, beef tender — classic Cantonese fundamentals done well
A really heartwarming touch was the complimentary soy milk & black sesame tangyuan 🍡 after the meal.
Warm, lightly sweet, and not cloying — the perfect ending.
If you’re looking for a Lunar New Year spot where:
✔️ elders feel comfortable with the food
✔️ the family can chat without too much noise
✔️ the dishes are consistent and reliable
This place is a great choice.
Sometimes, the feeling of the New Year is simply sitting around the same table and enjoying a good meal together 🤍“

“「鴻豐尚品」
Originally I was here to park my car and wanted to have lunch at other restaurant nearby. But the sign shows “parking Lot is for customer only”. That’s the reason why I have my lunch here.
I am very pleased with the amazing dim sum and the old-time atmosphere. The portion of food is huge and the price is reasonable. Definitely I’ll come back again!“
“Had the shrimp vermicelli shanghai style noodles, which I highly recommend. The service was good, the food is yummy and inexpensive. We dined in. The restaurant is non-descript and they accept cash only, so just be prepared! Perfect Chinese food!“

“The BEST fried rice. One of my must visits every time headed this way. Love the fried rice tremendously, and the barbeque on the side. Prices are very reasonable as well, and place is accommodating enough although gets full pretty quick. People don’t normally spend too much time around here so seats roll with little time. Staff is quick and speaks cantonese.“

“Food good. Service good. Ambiance good. However, don't look in the kitchen when walking to the restroom.
Came here on Christmas Day with group of seven. It was my first time and the place was big with many tables and booths. The service was good and friendly. We ordered:
- Chinese Green in Supreme Soup
- Salt Pepper Pork Ribs
- Salted w/ Tofu
- Fried geoduck
- Geoduck veggie mix
- Lobster w/ garlic noodles
My favorite was the salted chicken w/ tofu - perfect savory sauce on rice. The day was going great until the last moment. As I made my way to the restroom, which was not the greatest cleaning, kitchen is open to look when walking down the hallway. Lets just say I am on fence to go back here after seeing that kitchen. While most of us are not surprised since traditional asian restaurant, kitchen could still be better. Now I'm curious whats really salted in my favorite dish...“

“Their breakfast special (available until 11 am) is awesome. For about 14 dollars, I got one Hong Kong style iced milk tea, one huge piece of fried chicken steak and egg, plus stir fried noodle. Very authentic Hong Kong style. Plenty of parking behind the building.“

“Small mom& pop restaurant. Very 廣東 台山 Cantonese Taishan family style menu for lunch and dinner. Their chicken rice is delicious, juicy tender brown chicken, fragrant rice, just not very Hainan style but I will order again. Their curry pork chop rice, the curry sauce was very yummy unfortunately the fried pork chop was very dry inside. Want to love it so much because the fry job was done right but the meat was too dry. We also order the Chinese sausage salty egg meat Pattie on rice 台山臘腸鹹蛋肉餅飯. That was delicious! They can accommodate bigger group (6+) but best to call ahead. Easier for 1-4 person. There is a free small parking lot on the side and street parking. Even though I gave it 4-star (cuz of the pork chop), I would definitely return to try other items. Very authentic regional Chinese food.“

“The ladies are really nice, got the pork and century egg congee and it had lots of pork in it compared to other spots I’ve been to around Chinatown! Also got their Singapore noodle stir fry which came with lots of various seafood!! I wish I also tried their fried shrimp but will definitely go back for that next time.“

“This place has an unassuming storefront vibe from the street, but when you walk in it just keeps un folding. The staff are friendly and helpful. The food is great and the servings large. I will definately be recomending this place to all if my friends!“

“You know a place is great when the veggies are some of the best dishes you’ve ever had. The rice roll was so flavorful and full of meat, the green beans and eggplant in xo is just wonderful. The dumplings are stuffed with filling and I can’t wait to come back for their special dumping and to try a congee and braised chicken. I can’t recommend this place enough!“

“do not let the casual exterior of this building fool you - they're serious about food here. came on a Saturday night and it was packed, but they managed to seat us almost immediately! win. we ordered their lobster supreme, roasted duck, and some scrambled eggs with shrimp. rice and soup came with the meal. the lobster? fresh. delicious. chopped for easy eating ( true lobster monsters know how difficult it can be to eat this crustacean when it is improperly prepared! ) duck? delicious and toasty and very flavorful. and the scrambled egg and shrimp is a good, not too salty, meal balancer. very fluffy and soft. the tea they served was also brewed very well, very fragrant and none of the burnt taste. 10/10 would visit again and maybe try some of the other special meals (I gotta come back for the garlic crab)
edit: they have a complimentary little mango pudding for us 🥹“

“Small family owned business, super super tasty and worth it. In the span of 7 days, we ate here twice. Everyone is very nice, and considering it is like one person (big respect) in the kitchen, everything is made super fresh and quick comparatively. The 3he house noodles, beef noodle soup, cat eat noodles are all very tasty and the noodles have good texture. The popcorn chicken is also good but lacking 椒盐 for my taste but that's fine because I can add more at home or dip in the sauce.“

“They’re new, 6 months old .
It is a Cantonese restaurant that serves some faves.
I got the rice roll with beef stew. That was really good!
The salted chicken rice was ok, nothing g to rave about. Hope they serve with more chicken.
Not to miss is the chili sauce. It is the garlicky spicy variety.“

“Wow one of the strongest standing Hong Kong western restaurants in SGV! I have been to this restaurant a few times as a child and it's still going despite Great Recession and COVID pandemic! Last time I came, it brought back a lot of childhood memories and the food was still amazing! Will come back in the future!“

“This restaurant has good foods at reasonable prices. They have many choices on the menu. They serve big portions of foods. We ordered broccoli beef and walnut shrimps which come with a big bowl of pork meat/bones with vegetables soup and a big bowl of steam rice for daily lunch specials.
Waitresses also gave us attentive services.
We will come back for good foods and good services.“

“Can’t speak for the whole menu, but this place hands down has the best roast duck in the area. Yes, it’s even better than the roast duck at Sam Woo on Valley and 6th…and this is coming from someone who has had duck from Sam Woo for over 30 years. Juicier, tender, consistent quality.
Don’t be fooled by the outside appearance. Give it a try.“
