“My boyfriend and I now frequent Sushi Star since discovering the place a couple of months ago! It’s always very clean. A very pleasant atmosphere. Our waitress has always been Yi. “Just got to try this place out for the first time in 24 years. Living in the area I’d pass by and today I decided to try it and it did not disappoint. The service was great. A woman served me and my date, she was lovely. And the food was even better. The lady helped us set up sake bombs. Will be coming back. This place became my new favorite sushi restaurant. “I really don’t want more people to find out about this secret spot, but amazing. I’m kinda meh about seafood but this place has me coming 1-2 times a month per tradition. Best fish to rice ratio on nigiri ever. Quality is top notch for all you can eat. Gyoza (potstickers) and bulgogi (beef) make great appetizers. Best of all they don’t make you wait too long between plates. But expect a wait to get in as it is very popular. Expect 30,60,90 minute wait times if you’re coming on a weekend or busy times. But go go go.

A smaller restaurant but organized well to maximize usable table space. The staff were kind and attentive. Our waitress assisted and explained to another customer the menu and was very patient. I ordered a Chicken Teriyaki combo which came with your choice of two meats, rice, soup, salad, mixed tempura, and 2 pieces of gyoza. The food was exactly what listed and as described. It had good flavor and the temperature was spot on. My friend got the chicken ramen at mild heat and she had mentioned that is was probably the best ramen she’s ever had. I would recommend this place not only for the food and service but the pricing was great as well. I’m glad to see a small sushi restaurant that is actually good.“

I got the 911, and we got a volcano, I think, and I can't recall the third plate that we shared. it was delicious! unfortunately, there is no low carb option. The sushi is overwhelmed with salty rice. overall this is unhealthy food but I can't argue with the flavor. definitely not for someone on a low-carb diet, like me. but I made an exception for a date with a lovely lady. Don't get me wrong, I will return to try something else, but this is not a go-to for me because of the high carb rice.“

“Gift card scam. Mikunis implemented a new protocol in 2022. Any gift cards that were purchased before a certain (unknown) date, and now utilized, will be zeroed out. Back story: I attempted to use a gift card today (April 2023) and was informed it had a zero balance. The server kept my card. I had a gut feeling, asked for the card back. I spoke to the manager about how I could have a zero balance when I had never used it. The manager informed me that corporate zeroed out all gift cards that weren’t used. In order for me to get my money on the gift card, I have to call corporate headquarters and “request” an inquiry; which I did to no avail. It’s not about “expired” gift cards. It’s about not informing consumers ahead of a new rule that gift cards be zeroed out before a certain date. I’ve used 10 year old gift cards at other restaurants without any problem. Biggest scam ever.“

Imagine there's a sushi Restaurant randomly in the back of a winco or a foodmaxx or something alike, that's how it seems where this Restaurant was at. Nevertheless, despite initial appearances, the place felt almost like a hole In a wall type of establishment, the inside almost feel similar to a home as it is family owned and feels rather close to actual local establishments in Japan. 50% off sushi sounds too good to be true but the sushi is actually rather decent, though if you aren't careful you'd find yourself still paying for a hefty price (considering today's economy and all). Server was nice. Food didn't take long at all. Glad with the overall experience. The bathroom's also odd though cause it's locked oddly. You are prompted to knock before entering which is odd.“

“Delicious! The waitress in the evening is so sweet I didn’t catch her name. Long dark hair. Junior I think is a manager he’s so nice also. We have been there a couple times now and will continue to go back. The lady in the back we overheard her being a little sassy but maybe that’s her personality type. Ide suggest if someone isn’t doing something correctly being a little quieter when reprimanding because your customers can overhear you speaking. The food is absolutely delicious.“
