“We ordered the hippo bread, cauliflower, ravioli with clams and the hangar steak. All so delicious! The hippo bread is soft and sweet with that butter. The cauliflower is shareable and so good! The ravioli was fine and the hangar steak was slightly sweet and tender. Our waiter, Alejandro, was so attentive and answered all of our questions. He was fabulous! The kitchen is open so you can look and see which is always fun! Love the music, too! We walked past the restaurant but then I remembered it was by the pizza place so we circled back and found it. Can't wait to return!“

“The signature dish is the crab in sauce, which comes in medium and large sizes. medium is two crabs with two bowls of rice, and large is three crabs. Compared with other Korean restaurants, the sauce crab taste is mild, and it will not be salty enough to explode in the middle of the meal and cannot continue to eat. The crab is fresh, not fishy, and the meat is firm, not squishy. The crab meat is also very full, the crab legs are full, there is no empty shell crab. The sea urchin rice is a little smaller but the sea urchin is enough. regular sea urchins are not particularly sweet, but they are fresh and worth the price. The sea urchin Rice bowl combo will be served with steamed eggs, runny eggs and two prawns in sauce. Raw marinated salmon rice is amazing to me. The salmon is marinated just enough to be flavorful, but not overly salty. The portions are generous. You can eat two bites of each piece of salmon.“

“My favorite soondubu place! Korean restaurants don't usually have much vegan banchan but Surawon always has plenty of options, usually at least 4 out of the 6 or so banchan are vegan. My favorites are the firm tofu and seaweed. The mushroom, seaweed, and veggie soondubu, as well as the japchae, bibimbap, and pajeon can all be made vegan, and everything is excellent. There are not many dishes, but they are all delicious. Every time, I must order preserved egg and lean meat porridge, chicken feet, sesame balls, fresh meat rice rolls, and barbecued pork rice rolls. It's available for takeout, but it's still fresh and delicious. David is very friendly. It has the fireworks of Guangdong and Hong Kong, as well as American hospitality.
