“I have semi-mixed feelings on this place. I simply ordered the royale matcha latte with almond milk. It was almost $10 with a tip. I was upset to see the matcha is premixed in a pitcher. So basically she just poured me a cup of milk and matcha mix for nearly $10. However, it did taste like a pretty good quality ceremonial matcha. I can imagine they make the premix to make it easier for workers during rush times. I will come back if I’m really desiring a matcha because I do think this one tasted better and more quality than many other cafes I’ve ordered from in Marin, though I do prefer it be made fresh. That aside, the woman who took my order was very friendly.“

“This was my first time visiting Oddcha while heading home from San Francisco, and it definitely caught my attention because of the great reviews.
We ordered the Coconut Bomb and the Thai Twister, and both drinks were excellent. They weren’t overly sweet and had a really refreshing flavor. The boba also tasted fresh, which made the drinks even better.
Ordering was easy using their kiosk system. One thing to note is that parking is located behind the shop. It was a bit confusing at first since the store is on a very busy road, but once you find the back parking area, it’s much more convenient.
Overall, a great stop for refreshing drinks—I’d definitely come back!“

“Big fan of the signature milk tea that has all of the toppings like red bean and jelly. Great texture, great tea flavor and not too sweet like some other milk teas I’ve had, even at regular sugar levels. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in Chinatown- one of the better SF milk tea shops for sure“

“I visited this boba place, and it was really nice. The bubble tea was very good, and I loved that you can choose two syrup flavours, which is a great option. The popping bubbles were sweet and tasty, and I also liked that you can choose how much ice and sugar you want — less, medium, or more.
The only downside was the staff. The person taking the order spoke very quickly, so it was hard to understand, and the order wasn’t repeated at the end. It wasn’t a big issue, but it would have been nicer if the service was a bit clearer.“

“We're so lucky to have so many great boba cafes here in San Francisco. And Black Sugar is one of them.

It's a small spot at the edge of the Tenderloin near Union Square. They have a few caffeine-free choices and I got their mango sago, which is a mango puree with grapefruit bits and coconut milk. Since it already had sago, I didn't add boba, which is good btw. Its has that qq bounce and is softly sweetened with brown sugar.

The mango was so refreshing! The coconut added a creamy texture and the grapefruit bits added a pop of tartness. The sago added another layer of texture that was both soft and chewy. I usually like to take my time with boba drinks, but this one was so good that I drank it pretty fast.

I usually order mine online for pick up. But service is pretty quick after ordering. Though I can imagine it's busier on weekends.

I've had several of their drinks, including their popular black sugar fresh milk, and they are all good. Definitely take a detour when you're in Union Square when the boba craving hits.“

Been very busy whenever I’ve visited, which has been on the weekend only so far. Possible to bring a laptop to do some work, but given the small space and busy-ness, it’s not the type of place to hole up for hours on a laptop, in my opinion. “Cool Tea Bar never disappoints! The grass jelly roasted milk tea was absolutely delicious — rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced with just the right sweetness. The grass jelly added such a refreshing texture and made the drink even better.

The green pandan waffle was also amazing! Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and packed with a fragrant pandan flavor. It paired perfectly with the milk tea.

“Milk tea itself is fine, regular milk tea is much better than Jasmine milk tea. However, I notice that they charge $0.25 if you ask for a bag at the counter, but if you ask for a bag after you got your drink, they would just give it to you, instead of needing to pay it?“

But they stole Yi fangs concept, interior, their video, their branding, and basically just trying to be Yi fang (a well known Taiwanese fruit tea chain) Inside of the store they play Yi fangs video on the big flat screen TV with all the brands logos and indicators blurred out. Honestly don’t know what’s going on but it’s pretty weird.“

Also, traditional banh mi is $11.50 but if you order it, it has a $1 surcharge for a traditional banh mi. Makes no sense and seems like a scam. Place is nicely designed. Clean. “​Yu's Cafe is a good spot for unique treats at very reasonable prices. It is located in Chinatown, beside a park. Their Coffee Cheese is absolutely delicious.

“I find this to be a consistently good tea drink place. If you order less sweet + less ice it will come out that way. They have a lot of flavor options, from basic to more adventurous. One thing I especially like about the sharetea is they have lychee chunks as an add-in, which I prefer to boba. Note: there is only one large size available, it is ideal for sharing.
