“The shop is run by a very sweet older man, I enjoy every visit. It really feels like a shop you could have been to in the 80s. The menu online is often inaccurate and the hours fluctuate slightly around open and closing times, but I definitely recommend it. Remember to bring cash, it's cash only.
The prices have gone up quite a bit but they definitely needed to, I'm sure they were too cheap to make a living before.
Current flavors on my last visit, if the menu isn't accurate:
Chocolate, vanilla, chocolate chip, mint chocolate chip, strawberry, rocky road, cookies and cream, grasshopper, mocha fudge, lucuma, macapuno, rum raisin, butter pecan, black walnut, caramel praline, New York cherry, rainbow sherbet, green tea, avocado and what looked like ube (it was unlabeled).“

“Great little ice cream shop, they have a great selection of ice creams, as well as hot and cold drinks. The ice creams are some of the best I have ever had, and they do a great hot fudge sundae. The service is great, prices are good and I would highly recommend a visit if you are in the Fishermans Wharf area of San Francisco.“

“The Ghirardelli Chocolate Experience in San Francisco is an absolute must-visit! The moment you walk in, the smell of rich chocolate fills the air and instantly makes you happy. Their hot chocolate is out of this world — thick, velvety, and perfectly balanced between sweetness and deep cocoa flavor. It’s easily one of the best hot chocolates I’ve ever had, especially on a cool San Francisco day. The staff is friendly, the atmosphere is cozy, and the whole experience feels indulgent and special. A perfect stop for any chocolate lover!“

My favorite ice cream place. Specifically this location. Must-try flavor: vanilla honey lavender! Real, local lavender flowers throughout. Delightful. Magic!
I got a “double” scoop in a bowl (allows 1-4 flavors) to split with a friend the other day. We tried lemon poppyseed, Moroccan mint tea, and vanilla honey lavender. Would not recommend the lemon poppyseed- tasted a bit artificial. Moroccan mint tea was ok but tasted much more like mint chocolate chip than tea and the flavor paled in comparison to my favorite: vanilla honey lavender, which was outstanding per usual.
Tiny shop with charming pictures of local community up on the walls. There’s minimal seating inside and outside so you may have to walk with your ice cream.“

Crepes were soft and fluffy. We got #28 which had coffee icecream and pudding. Was a unique combo but both flavors paired well together.

“Well, Marin, you’ve been VERY disappointing in the vegan department, but Frankie & Jo’s single handedly makes up for it. This Seattle-based vegan ice cream company is all about quality—in flavors, texture, and product line—including ice cream, ice cream sandwiches, shortbread cookies, cookie dough to bake at home, and vegan pie crust. Haven’t met a flavor we didn’t like yet. Miso Moon is a standout. And their seasonal flavors are delish too.“

“Loved my ice cream sandwich- such a fun dessert business! Very nice woman working the day we came. I do wish there were 2 gluten free cookie options and at least 2 gluten free ice cream options. It looked like there would be more variety on the website, but the day I went, there was only a chocolate chip cookie and a non dairy chocolate chip ice cream- would have loved to have chocolate or other options! Very delicious though!“

“Swirl is scrumptious and so refreshing on hot days. The flavors are yummy. My favorite is watermelon. It is smooth and tasty! I love it!” 😅 The new ownership has lowered the prices and also maintained a clean environment. “When in San Francisco I always stop at Ghirardelli the hot cocoa is delicious, the sundaes are delicious. We stopped after a Giants game and it was crowded. We took it to go. The location is excellent within walking distance to the Nintendo store and the Nike store. The staff was so friendly and helpful. I love Ghirardelli.“

“Always a good experience, everything is very good especially their TaroMatcha drink, one of my favorites. Rated 4 stars though I'm pretty bummed out we drove 20 minutes because I really didn't want to leave the city without getting one of my favorite drinks. Got their 20 minutes before closing just to be told that they stopped making drinks 30 minutes before they close. Let them know that's pretty messed up especially since it's not stated anywhere and drove all the way there for nothing. Was only told to come by 1 hr before closing lol wanted it so bad I could taste it 😭 if you know you know.“

The croffle is great for a quick bite or if you crave a drink, I got the Hojicha frappe.. My god, thinking about it gets your taste buds watering... Hah! Flavors are really on point, I have not gotten one drink where I was disappointed or felt like there could have been anything missing.
If you want something crazy, that parfait looks hella good! Will need to try that next time!
The vibe inside is very calming, the smell of tea will hit you in the face with a crazy impact like a mother throws a sandal in Yo face for not getting good grade for Yo test... Very impactful and stunning!

“Stopped in here to fulfill an ice cream after sushi craving. Loved this little store. The young woman behind the counter had some helpful flavor suggestions. Unique (butterfinger, whisky praline, drumstick, PB and j) but delicious flavors. Some classics too and even a sorbet for the dairy free visitor. Loved that they have a tiny cup option as well. Would love to come back to try more flavors.“

“The Original Ghirardelli Chocolate & Ice Cream Shop at Ghirardelli Square is a must-visit for any sweet lover in San Francisco. We stopped by and treated ourselves to their famous hot fudge sundae—it was rich, indulgent, and absolutely worth it. The shop has a nostalgic charm, and you can watch them make chocolate in-store.
Tip: The prices are definitely on the higher side, but the portions are generous and the quality is top-notch. It can get crowded, so try to visit during off-peak hours for a shorter wait. A delicious and iconic San Francisco experience!“

“They are clean and organized and the prices are fair, especially being in the tenderloin where the struggle and homelessness is really the over all attraction. But one employee just doesn't seem to be happy. He doesn't smile is unfriendly and somewhat rude!! And the other one is completely the opposite. But over all I enjoyed there food... And definitely there milkshakes are a must have. I will be a consistent customer since I'm new to the area!“

“Fantastic ice cream! We had the Kauai Pie, which is Kona Coffee, Chocolate Fudge, Macadamia Nuts and Chunks of coconut. Extremely yummy! A scoop as of June 2024 is $6, and it’s pretty large.
The sitting is by a busy road so not the most romantic.“

“Really solid spot in Saluhall. $5 for a big bowl of vegan sorbet, the strawberry was really nice and refreshing and not too sweet. Comes with unlimited toppings as well.
If you are in Saluhall, worth checking out in my opinion for the price point.“

“I used to get Yomie’s in SoCal, and it was a yummy alternative to boba when I wanted something different. The yogurt smoothies at the North Beach location taste pretty similar but seem to be blended a little thicker. I got the passion fruit smoothie with less sugar and purple rice as a topping, and it was very filling. Definitely recommend as a drinkable snack.“

“Cool/fun idea. Good execution. Tasty. Pretty expensive. The guy making the ice cream rolls behind the glass was working super hard, but was basically a one man assembly line, and didn’t get to engage with the customer. Didn’t seem like the best environment to work in. This location was pretty beat up, some broken/old equipment on one side, half broken bench held together with duct tape.“

“I can’t believe how good the pizza is. Top quality. Comparable to A16 in terms of texture and ingredients. No cardboard crusts here. And the prices? They are from a parallel universe as they are UNBELIEVABLY LOW! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️“

“One of the best! We love Easy Breezy because of their delicious toppings, but they don’t always have the best ice cream flavors. One time we went and they didn’t even have chocolate or vanilla at all! But still, overall their frozen yogurt is amazing! We recommend it for family’s who have free time. 😁 ( This was written by my 6 year old! )
