“There's a lot of great pizza in the Bay and State Flour is right up there. The ambiance, service, and starters are too.
I went in with a friend during a busy summer Saturday last month and we were lucky to get a walk-up table without a wait. One downside: they don't take reservations. Elmwood gets busy, especially when something at Cal brings in the parents/alumni.
Our server was great. We asked for the sausage to go on half of the pizza and they happily obliged. We didn't think about the salad. The server intuited that would be desired and simply put the dried prosciutto for the delicious salad when it came out so my dinner mate could enjoy it just as much as I could. When asked something specific about the wine, she said she was newer & didn't know but would ask someone else. Much appreciated.“

“This place is absolutely incredible! I ordered pizzas for a big family ranging from 12 to 90 years old and we were all ecstatic!
I love the way the ginger comes through in the tandoori. The plain cheese is like a little black dress; goes with everything and everyone loves it! The old guy kept saying, “This is delicious!” and the kids gobbled it up.
It was also lovely to meet the owner. This is going to a new family favorite for sure!!“

“How am I the first person to review this place?? Laura is one of the best in the industry. For those that don't know, she was the right arm for Toni Gemignani, arguably the most famous pizza maker on the planet, through a whole bunch of his concepts since the beginning of both of their careers. She opened her own place in Berkeley and it's great to see her continuing to thrive at the level she did with Tony. Also the food is really good. The sleeper here might be the pasta which gets as much love as the pizzas.“

“Lucia’s is our favorite pizza restaurant, and a fav in general. The owners and staff are super nice. And they really take food restrictions seriously. One of our family is celiac and so we started going for an amazing GF pies!! But everything is delicious. Reservations are always a good idea here. We even had them cater a milestone birthday party with their super cute wood-fired traveling pizza oven.“

“Gran Milan is THE place to get the most delicious foods on the planet!!! I recently ordered mini sfogliatelles, cannolis, (3) meter long pizzas n wonder focaccia bread to make sandwiches and their famous olive bread sticks!!! Thanks for the beautiful foods and service!!! I highly recommend Rufo’s place for your next catering! I haven’t seen sfogliatelles outside of NY!!! Love this place!!“

“There's some slight confusion because ordering from "Slice of Hollywood" from Eat24, you get pizza from Pizza Nation, but that's no big deal. The food is GOOD. Best wings I've ever had delivered, and the pizza is really good as well. plenty of toppings, and so far I've only had great experiences with them. Great combo price deals too!“

“Exceptional neopolotan style pizza. The sauce is light, but held a depth of flavor that lingers in the aftermath. The crust is near perfection. Please don't call it burnt. it's not. Burnt implies mistake. THAT crust is no mistake. I would highly recommend you sit down and eat it right out of the oven. Plus, the outdoor seating in a beautiful rose garden is a nice touch.“

“North Beach Pizza has the best GF pizza in the bay area. It's even better than my homemade GF pizza, and you can't beat the service. North Beach Pizza is great for family dinners with gluten free pizza and salads.“

“Rolled up at 7:20 AM on a Saturday and found parking very easily on the street in front and practically no line. Caneles weren't available but I don't know if that was because someone had managed to clean shop in 20 minutes or they weren't ready yet. We got:
Quiche Lorraine: excellent, stood up well to microwave reheating and really appreciated the saltiness from the ham, was a full meal with some fruit and a slice of the walnut loaf on the side
Chocolate almond croissant: excellent texture and sweetness
Pain au chocolat: it was good but probably wouldn't buy again simply because I think other things taste better and are more worth the calories/money
Cardamom and walnut scone: my sleeper hit, ordered it because I saw someone else raving about it and wow wow wow so unassuming looking but maybe my favorite?
Ham and cheese cup: my husband's favorite; I had doubts about the hard boiled egg inside as I'm not generally a fan but it wasn't chalky in the slightest
Walnut bread: texture is perfect, soft yet with great body, one of the best loaves I've had in a long time
Caneles: didn't buy this time but have before and they are *chef's kiss*, perfect little hint of alcohol, burnt (but not bitter) sugar taste
Also bought Paris-Brest but that's for dessert tonight.“

“La Val’s Pizza in Albany is such a wonderful local gem! The pizza is always fresh, flavorful, and made with care. Their Indian-style pizzas are absolutely delicious — especially the Butter Chicken Pizza and Chicken Tikka Pizza. The flavors are unique, rich, and so satisfying.
The owners and staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, and you can really feel the family-owned atmosphere. The service is great, the portions are generous, and there are plenty of options for both pizza lovers and vegetarians.
If you’re in Albany and looking for delicious pizza with something different, I highly recommend giving La Val’s a try. You won’t be disappointed! 🍕❤“

When they aren’t busy they also sometimes give free side dishes - it’s a great value for about $10/person!!!“

“Our group of five enjoyed lunch on a quiet afternoon. Their pies are 9' or 12' and offer numerable custom options ~ rare amongst many pizza spots! with that in mind know wait time up to 25 minutes for delivery; we only ordered one starter roasted cauliflower to share. The pies were generous, prepped as ordered and service was relaxed. Fun !“
