I could go on. It’s a super-comfortable atmosphere with friendly, professional, accommodating staff. For the number of dishes we ordered and their complexity, the price was reasonable. The only question is, why doesn’t this restaurant have any Michelin stars yet?“

“A True Culinary Treasure on the West Coast!

Yesterday night, I had the opportunity to eat some Turkish food in Mateo Pizza Restaurant, and frankly, the experience far exceeded my expectations. Their lahmacun and sujuk (sucuklu) pide were, in a word, phenomenal.

As someone who has been searching for these authentic flavors for years, I can confidently say that this is the best Turkish style lahmacun and pide I have ever had on the West Coast. From the perfect consistency of the dough to the freshness of the ingredients, everything was so delicious and tasty that I felt as if I were back in Turkey at my favorite local restaurant.

The quality of the food is truly commendable. I sincerely wish that this level of craft and flavor could be spread across the rest of the United States! Mateo Pizza Restaurant absolutely deserves recognition for the authentic and high quality standards they maintain. I would love to see this quality of lahmacun and pide available in more places.

From now on, whenever I visit San Francisco, this place will undoubtedly be my first stop. I look forward to coming back regularly and savoring these flavors again. If you are looking for an authentic lahmacun or sujuk pide, make sure to put Mateo Pizza Restaurant at the top of your list.

“Decided to give them another try after a long while. The traditional food is really good as that’s where they shine. I would still clear of the burgers, nothing wrong with it, but I would go to a burger place for a burger and stick to Zareen’s for traditional food. The charga is incredible!!“

The waiter was the worst service i've ever had, he didn't even put in my food order, he didn't even come to give us a check , we had to go back and forth and ask for dessert at the counter. And as we left , he didn't even say thank you.

But I want to say that we had the best busser ever! He filled our waters constantly, he noticed that I wasn't getting my food and checked on me, and he's packed my food up. He actually cared about our family and our food and our experience. So thank you to him, he saved our experience.“

“Really enjoyed Nomadic Kitchen in San Mateo! They feature a streamlined menu focused on heavy-hitting entrees and appetizers, which makes ordering easy because everything they do, they do right.

The hummus plate is an absolute must-have. It features incredibly creamy, delicious hummus topped with vibrant cabbage and pomegranate seeds. It is surrounded by a beautiful ring of rich, colorful sauces, dips, and pickles that pair perfectly with the basket of warm, homemade bread.

For the main course, the chicken kebab was a total hit. The chicken breast cubes are perfectly charred and incredibly tender. What really sets Nomadic Kitchen over the top is their beautiful plating and generous side options. The entree comes out beautifully arranged on a sleek black platter, complete with a fresh salad topped with pickled cabbage, a side of seasoned bulgur wheat, and a side of fluffy white rice. Having both rice options on one plate is a fantastic touch.

If the weather is nice, I highly recommend sitting out on the patio area to enjoy the beautiful San Mateo sun. The service was completely solid, friendly and fairly quick, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality of food you get. I will definitely be back.“

“The Absolute Best Coffee in the Bay Area!My husband and I are total coffee seekers whenever we travel, and finding Kaizen & Coffee was the absolute highlight of our trip to San Mateo! It might be the smallest coffee shop we’ve ever visited, but it packs a massive punch. The modern black-and-white interior is incredibly clean and inviting, and the baristas are wonderfully friendly and helpful.We stayed for a week and literally came back 5 times—that’s how good it is! We tried three of their signatures: the Black Sesame Latte, Ube Latte, and Miso Caramel Latte. The Black Sesame was our absolute favorite, closely followed by the Miso Caramel. If you love perfectly balanced drinks, trust me: these are exceptionally delicious, never overly sweet, beautifully creamy, and topped with the thickest, perfect foam.The biggest selling point for us? Absolutely zero chemical syrups. They make all of their bases and syrups in-house, which is exactly what we look for in high-quality specialty coffee. “I've been wanting to go to this place for a while now. Everytime I search for a place with best coffee near my work, this always pops up. I finally had the pleasure of going here, and it wasn't too busy.
The person who took my order was super nice and helpful in narrowing down items to try. Everything here is made to order, so they do recommend using the app. Especially if you are in a hurry.
I ordered:

1. Vietnamese coffee with salted cream: Surprisingly, this was a little sweet to me. I do recommend sipping it, instead of drinking it through a straw to get the full flavor.

2. Croffle w/ nutella: This was crispy and chewy. The nutella gave it a messy yumminess

3. Egg, cheese, and bacon croissant: This was delicious and surprisingly it didn't have that greasy oily feeling. It is very hearty.

4. Perfect green smoothie: My co-worker loved this and found it very delicious. Perfect balance of all the items.
