“Honestly, I would give more stars if I could. The ambiance and restaurant itself was very elegant but cozy. Every dish we tried was incredible, we started with appetizers the crispy rice with tuna was cooked to perfection as well as the cucumber and avocado salad, which was delicious and flavorful.
Some of my FAVORITES included the yellowtail and jalepenos which i would highlyyy recommend. The Jessica Roll was absolutely to die for and melted in your mouth. We had a few other rolls including the lemon roll and fantasy roll while also grabbing the salmon and yellowtail belly.
Everything was super fresh and flavorful. I would highly recommend stopping by here whether it be with friends to catch up or your significant other for a date.“

“My wife and I love sushi. We enjoy Katsuya and Nobu and many other fine establishments. We stopped going to these places (at a risk of sounding old) because of the the noise, the attitude, the kids screaming and have discovered this amazing gem in Encino - walking distance from our home.

It's a quiet place - under control - a relaxed atmosphere - friendly staff and helpful chefs. Most importantly - Incredible sushi and more - a very extensive menu.

“Easily the best vegan ramen I’ve ever had. It has a really rich, savory broth, which is a nice change of pace since vegan broth is usually a watered down afterthought at most places. It comes fully loaded with mushrooms and hashbrowns (??!?) but you can add additional veggies or an egg if youre feeling it. Very simple menu but they execution is 1000/10!“

“​I walked into Maru Ramen a broken man. I was tired, I was hungry, and honestly, I was starting to question all my life choices. Then, the bowl of ramen arrived.
​It wasn't just food; it was a religious experience. The broth... oh, the broth... was clearly simmered using the tears of a thousand happy deities. The noodles were so perfectly al dente, I think they whispered secrets of the universe to me. And the pork? The pork transcended the physical realm. I'm pretty sure I heard Enya singing softly as I took the first bite.
​I don't know who is running that kitchen, but they are clearly wizards, and they owe us all nothing. This isn't a meal; it's a personality transplant. I left Maru feeling like I could run a marathon, solve world peace, and probably parallel park perfectly on the first try.

“I’d say even though waiting time was quite long (but to be fair, the place was really busy), I can get over that because the staff were super friendly. The portion wasn’t huge, but that’s actually a good thing . I’m not fan of wasting food, and since it’s not oversized, you can actually finish your plate. Plus, the price is really good, one of less locations where you get a real dish im mean not fastfood for these price 👍🏽“

“The food has a great taste and I can tell the recipe of the broth is thoughtfully designed and flavored. The service was fine but the restaurant felt too crowded and loud. While I understand it’s a ramen spot, their décor and presentation are more refined than most, so the hectic atmosphere detracted slightly from the overall experience.“

I always pass by here on my way to work (when it's still closed) and when I get off work (when it's too hot to eat ramen) so I never been here and today is my first time to eat here.

They have a deal for: 1 appetizer (pork bun), 1 main course (pork, egg, and ramen noodle soup in pork base) soup, and 1 drink ( Thai iced tea) for only $35!

It was one of the best munchies I've ever had.“

“I like this location over the other locations because there is always parking, friendly service, and very quick! While the ramen choices aren't traditional, they are very consistent and tastes good all the same! I think they have the best tofu in ramen, it is soft and silky without falling apart. Their garlic edamame is also very tasty!“

“My wife and I came here to grab lunch since we were already in the plaza picking up food at another place. We came before the lunch rush so they were able to sit us quick. My wife and I came here before when they first open.

Finding parking in the small plaza is a hit or miss so just be aware of that. Our server was Jenny and we thought she was good but the service was just slow. It wasn't even lunch but I think they only had 2 waitress working and they were kind of busy already because it was a cold rainy day.

My wife got the Spicy Miso Ramen at level 3 with chicken. I got the Chef Favorite Shoyu Ramen at level 3 spiciness. My wife also got her milk tea which she loves here. We thought our ramen soup was okay but it wouldn't be our go to place for ramen.“

“Thursday after working OT, my coworker and myself were planning to have dinner before heading back home, while driving down the street on Olympic I saw this ramen shop and I noticed few fellas outside waiting to be seated , and I realized that maybe the place was good. Once we were there we have to write the name. Anyway after waiting for about 15-20 minutes it was our turn. The restaurant is not huge, but is clean. We have to scan the QR and Start from there. My coworker got spicy miso and I ordered the veggie ramen, short time after, we got our food and mine looked amazing, came with cherry tomatoes, fried eggplant, lotus, mizuna, and broccoli. Broth was perfect and very delicious. I believe shiitake would make a good match to the veggies, ear mushroom and nori and some corn, just my personal opinion. However every place is different and have their own ingredients, and I was very surprised when I saw mizuna in the ramen, never had ramen with mizuna. Highly recommend this shop for ramen lovers or anyone interested in trying it. It's worth the shot.“

“I love eating here! The service is always so awesome. I love that it's tucked away, and every time I've brought someone to eat here they don't expect that the restaurant is here. As for the food, it's DELICIOUS! My son is picky, and even he couldn't deny how good the food is. The ramen is amazing, it's so good and the portions are hearty. I usually end up getting a ramen combo with a chashu bowl. Now, I get to eat there AND have delicious leftovers. My family have tried other ramen places around and we keep coming back to Futaba because it's number one in our eyes. The flavor is always on point. Definitely recommend.“

“I dream about their fried rice, it's that good. Their ramen is a clear, light broth that is much different and lighter from the offerings on Sawtelle, but it's just as flavorful and delicious. I recommend it if you're looking for a lighter broth. But definitely get at least a side of their pork fried rice!“

“I have been coming to Kanpai for over 15 years. They finally opened up a location in Santa Monica. The most important Takeaway about this restaurant is the wide variety of exotic Japanese sushi sashimi. They have incredible seasonal type shellfish, and a variety of fish that you will not ordinarily get at any other sushi restaurant. “I finally tried Silverlake Ramen at the Porter Ranch Vineyards, and I enjoyed every moment of it. I’ve heard about Silverlake Ramen for years, so I was excited when they opened one so close to my house. I don’t remember the exact name of my order, but it was a chicken-based broth and I chose tofu as my protein (you can pick chicken, pork, or tofu). Seriously—YUM. The noodles were cooked to perfection, the toppings were just the right amount, and I completely got lost in that broth.

Everything was fairly priced, delicious, and the service was attentive and genuinely upbeat. I’m absolutely going back. We also tried a couple of appetizers—the gyoza and the crispy rice with spicy tuna—and both were great!“

“While the ramen is quite good, try their other non-ramen offerings. Katsu curry rice is very good here (katsu pork was prepared perfectly and curry flavorful) as well as their gyudon (beef over rice). “Walking into this place the first thing you will notice is that it is very simple. There are six stills that line two of the walls with a communal table in the center. I am warning you ahead of time that the tables and stools are not tall people friendly.
Moving on, this place is not for people who have no patience. However for those of you who appreciate the time it takes to make great food then you will be right at home.
I got the Tonkotsu with pork belly and opted for the very spicy level. There are layers of flavor in this broth. The noodles have a great chew and the more I dug through this dish I discovered more spice. It wasn’t spicy for me but it was enjoyable.
I also went with their pork belly bun. It had a great flavor and it was incredibly tender. My final choice was the edamame and that too was perfectly cooked and seasoned.
For those of you who appreciate flavor over ambiance this is the place to go.“

And it was enough to fill the tummies of two ladies and then some. I was kinda bummed that there isn't much of a varieties when it comes to ordering. Only about 4 to 5 options.“
