“Very good food & service.
Packed house even though we missed the Sunday dinner rush--we were seated smack in front of the wall & painted-over outlets, etc., very odd, do not recommend that table.
Wish it were closer to us.“

“I Can Barbecue was a great experience for us. I went with my family for the first time and we truly enjoyed it. The food is halal, flavorful, and well prepared. The atmosphere was comfortable and welcoming, making it a perfect place to relax and spend quality time together. We had a lovely time as a family and will definitely be coming back again.“

“We checked out this place for the first time and were not disappointed. Everything on the menu sounded so enticing that we decided to order a variety of items to try—wings, pot stickers, udon noodles, bulgogi plate, and chicken katsu (don’t judge me ?). The spicy wings and pot stickers definitely packed a punch! The bulgogi plate was incredibly flavorful. You won’t be disappointed—definitely give this place a try!“

“You know this place is good when you see all the ahjummas queued up LOL. Honestly some of the best bibimnaengmyeon I have had in the US. Also the banchan was insaneeeeely good and free refills. One thing though is that the meat was good but for the 3 person combo the portion size is pretty small. But I would definitely come back! Get here early so you don’t wait in line.“

“Went to this Korean joint for burgers. I had the Deluxe Oklahoma Burger and Fries. The beef patties were on point and the fries were also great. My new favorite burger joint for now. Seating is extremely limited so go before or after regular lunch hour or take it to go.“

“I love the Korean build-your-own bowl concept, similar to Chipotle's style! The variety of ingredients and flavors offered is impressive, and the quality of the food is top notch. I was bummed they change their meats but it taste even more delicious. Their pork belly is really good. The portion was generous, and the price is reasonable. It's a great option for a quick, delicious, and healthy meal. Can't wait to go back and try new combinations. The service is the best!“

“This restaurant was a really good one! The service here was very friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere was lively and extremely clean! I felt like my food had room to improve, but overall it was a delightful experience. I would recommend it to anyone who is in the area wanting Korean food.“

“I wasn't sure what to expect driving out to Acton, but saw this spot had good reviews and I'm glad I stopped. Got the crispy fried chicken and a bowl of japchae to split with a friend, both came out hot and fresh. The chicken was just salty enough on its own without needing the sauce, definitely the highlight for me. Only thing is the parking arrangement is a little awkward, it shares a lot with a laundromat so it can feel crowded. We sat at one of the outdoor tables because it was nice weather, felt very low key and casual. I'd probably just order takeout next time instead of dealing with the seating, but the food is solid.“

“1. The chicken was meaty! The stir fried noodles have a nice smoky flavor!
2. The spot has fun casual vibes as it is part of a food court! The food court has high ceilings!
3. The staff was friendly and timely with our order! It was ready after 10 mins!
Note: There is a restroom area!

“My friend and I got their spicy marinated crab and it was soooo good. The perfect texture and flavor. It wasn’t too spicy and it paired so well with rice and seaweed. We also got the beef soup with dumplings and rice cake which was also amazing as well! The workers here are so kind too“

“Excellent and authentic food. Very friendly and informative service. Casual atmosphere. The restaurant was empty at lunchtime on a Saturday, but service was quick and attentive. Meat came out sizzling on cast iron platters. Banchan were very tasty. Refreshing cold chewy buckwheat noodles.“

“Traditional Korean food at its best. They have a great variety of dishes, and I liked that the food wasn’t overly salty. Everything tasted fresh and authentic. The service was fast and attentive, and the staff made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. The meat dishes were excellent, and the cold noodles were clean, refreshing, and full of flavor. I’ve tried many Korean restaurants, and this is definitely one of the better ones. I will be coming back again.“

“All the banchan tasted fresh and tasted like it was made by a korean mom. The food was good, clean and simple. The seafood pancake was crispy and on point. The beef soup with the glass noodles was delicious 👌 pair with lemon Jinro sochu. You'll thank later. The portions of food they serve are out of control but the quality and taste is by far worth the price which is very reasonable. I would recommend of you are visiting from oit of town, must try. Service is above and beyond and the attention to detail is incredible as well.“

“Delicious korean bbq with great service!! Although some of the staff aren’t the most talkative, they still got the job done and provided us with everything we needed. For this kbbq, the staff cooks the meat for you, so if you’re worried about cooking your own meat, there is no need to. There was a constant flow of customers as well, and the staff did a great job with keeping that flow efficient.“

“Kind of a hidden hole in the wall spot a bit off of the main Garden Grove Koreatown strip.
Good set of 반찬 (side dishes) and the portions were large. I ordered the 갈비탕 (rib soup) and it had large pieces of meat that fell off the bone.“

“The food was incredible. There’s a touch of homemade love to it. I appreciated the attentiveness of the servers gamsahabneda. A beloved mentor friend had treated me here and I never ever want to forget this place because of the good company and the tang that just hit the spot! The place is like a warm hug. The variety of banchan is also breathtaking and well worthwhile.
Thank you all so much and God bless you all+“

“Quality food, excellent customer service, and family atmosphere. I recommend trying the seafood or vegetable pancake and getting it crispy. The purple rice is a nice difference and a little healthier than the standard white rice. Used to love their aloe vera side dish, but unfortunately they don't have it anymore. Grace and Tim, the owners, makes you feel welcomed like you've been going here for years. Highly recommend you give them a try!“

“Stopped by Yup Dduk in Irvine and it was definitely a solid spot. We got the Yup Dduk Tteokbokki, Yup Dduk Chicken Stew, Tuna Mayo Rice, and a Potato Cheese Corndog. The tteokbokki and chicken stew were the real standouts — full of flavor, good heat, and just the right kick to keep things interesting. The tuna mayo rice and corndog were solid sides that paired well without stealing the show. The spot itself is casual and unassuming, and the food definitely delivers. If you’re into Korean street-style dishes with bold spice and flavors that actually hit, this place is worth carving out time for.“

“Dawa never disappoint me. I went to the one on Harbor a few times and to this new place recently and I like it. The food is good, and the place is clean. I just don't like the wait, it takes too long for them to make the food even though there was no customer except my party of 3 at that time.“

“The food was amazing the broth had a really spicy flavor the noodles were perfectly cooked and all the sides tasted perfect everything felt authentic and homemade. The older lady there was incredibly sweet and welcoming she honestly reminded me of my mom with how kind and caring she was. That warm hospitality made the whole experience even better. My only wish is that there was a little more beef in the bowl, but overall everything was delicious and I’ll definitely be coming back.“

Service was amazing as well. They were very attentive and answered questions about their dishes. You can tell that the food was thoughtfully prepared, and they truly care about the dishes they serve.

“If you want the kind of Korean comfort food that wraps you in a big cozy blanket and whispers, “You’re home now,” Jang Mo Jip is the place.
Nothing flashy, no Instagram gimmicks — just steaming bowls of hearty soup, beautifully chewy dumplings (I LOVE their dumplings, they’re my ride-or-die here), piles of fresh kimchi, and honest, satisfying flavors.
The atmosphere is no-frills but exactly what you want when you’re craving soul-warming sul lung tang or a healing haejang guk.
The banchan? Solid, classic, and plentiful. You leave full, happy, and with the kind of quiet joy only a truly good meal can give.
Not trying to impress, just trying to feed you well — and that’s what keeps me coming back.
Comfort food at its finest.“

“Fantastic, friendliness, courtesy, kind and warm service from a couple that run the stall. It is inside the AR market, at the food hall area. The menu is simple and most are street foods and with good prices for the portion. I ordered 3 pieces of sweet & spicy fried chicken box set (with 3 pieces of fried dumpling & japchae and 2 generous scoops of white rice). It was delish and it comes with kimchi & radish pickles. Just yum!!! The chicken is tender & juicy plus stil crispy even with the wet sauce. I ate all of them except one scoop of rice…too much. Also he gave me an extra piece of chicken (4 instead of 3, how kind & very nice). Once you order, it might take abit also depending if they’re busy or not since he runs the front, the woman is cooking in the back by herself. But it worth it. I really enjoyed it after I shopped at the market. Will be back to try other foods. The seating area is community area and they do have a separate entrance to go directly instead of through the market.“

“My parents, who love loach stew, always stop by and eat it when they come to Calico. My parents admit that it is a restaurant that is thicker and better than most loach stew restaurants in Korea. The side dishes are prepared well and with sincerity, and everything is delicious. The servers are all friendly and I don't know if it's the owner, but there is a man there who is really friendly and makes me feel good every time I come.“

“Paris Baguette is known for their amazing pastries. This was my first time at the garden grove location. I had just shopped at HMart. There are small cafe tables and it was clean and well situated with a few people enjoying food and drinks. We got several small and large pastries. The food is 5 stars 🌟 the fruit on some if the custard/cream pastries is fresh and delicious. The puff pastry is cooked to perfection, presentation was also 5 stars. The only issue which to me as a business owner is the absence of customer service and social Skills by the one person on the floor. Not one greeting, not even greeted when we came to the register. Not one social skill. Not friendly or kind. It doesn't cost you anything to be kind to your customers. Please train this person. Disappointing experience. All people should be treated kindly.“

“Food was pretty good and the service was great. We went around noon on a weekday and it wasn't busy at all. Our food came out quick and hot.
We got the tteokbokki with fried squid and another order with beef brisket. I ordered mine spicy and my wife wanted mild but we couldn't tell the difference between the two. The spice level wasn't too hot for me (I like it really spicy) but my wife thought hers was too hot.
I also had the soondae, which was pretty good. The skin around it was a bit crunchy for me but some may prefer it that way.“

“I like the big portion of this restaurant. I went 2 people so we ordered 2 dishes. We tried: 1. Pork Back Bone Stew: very huge portion. The meat is soft and you can feel the broth has been well cooked that gives you the sweet and rich taste. 2. Stir Fried Squid (because I love squid!): very good. This dish can be eaten with rice (if you want to be full) or will paired good with a taste of Soju. The portions are big so don't over ordering or you will have some food to go. The food is a little plaint and there's salt to add (if you are a salty food fan) to assure you don't leave the broth behind. You will feel healthy as you leave the place. Will be great to have for hangover or when you are sick. I went on a weekend night for dinner and the restaurant was a little quiet. I think this place is most suitable for lunch. I would definitely come back to try their other stews and pork belly!“
“I used to buy the Jongga Kimchi (52.9 oz) from Costco. The flavor is actually pretty good, milder and not too sour but the jar is a bit too large for me.
Recently, I saw people in a Korean community group recommending Kimchi Nara, which is also available at H Mart, so I decided to try their smaller 32 oz size. Their kimchi is a bit more on the sour side compared to Jongga, but it works really well for cooking and I used it to stir-fry pork and it turned out delicious.
They also offer different size options at H Mart, which is great depending on how much you plan to use. Definitely a more flexible choice for different needs.“

“If you’ve ever driven by this cozy Korean spot with traditional hanok-style windows and a constant line out the door, you’ll know why I’ve been curious about Hangari Kalguksu for a while. I finally caught a quiet weekday afternoon and went in right away.
The menu comes in Korean and English, but the English side is mostly phonetic, so don’t be surprised if it doesn’t help much. I just pointed at the Korean menu and ordered their signature kalguksu ($17.99). They also offer sujebi, rice cake dumpling soup, cold noodles like buckwheat or soybean, plus classics like tteokbokki and fried snacks.
Banchan was simple yeolmu kimchi, light and refreshing. Then came the main event, a massive bowl of kalguksu, easily double the portion you’d expect, with a small side of barley rice (boribap). The broth was surprisingly clean and slightly sweet, loaded with shrimp, clams, potatoes, zucchini, and seaweed.
Pro tip: serve some noodles into your small bowl, then mix in their chili paste and sesame oil. It instantly levels up the flavor. Super comforting and honestly hard to stop eating so I ended up finishing the whole thing without realizing it.
Portions are huge, so sharing isn’t a bad idea. If you can’t finish, just ask for a to-go box.
They accept cash and Visa/Mastercard only.
Also worth noting, there’s another Hangari Kalguksu in LA (ktown) with a similar name and a more expanded menu. Not sure if they’re related, but something to keep in mind if you’re exploring different locations.“
