“I like the pastrami here. Been coming through since the 80s for it. This place is history on the Gardena map. Tried the bacon breakfast sandwich. Fire as well. They used to just allow cash payments, but they will charge 1.50 to use a card. Ok. This place is very good. Old school service on the block. Burgers are very good and even though frozen, the fries are good as well.
No seating area. Wheel chair accessible

Parking: Right off the corner of Normandie BLVD and El Segundo BLVD. Drive careful. Cars zoom by fast.

“I came across Playa Provisions when in town for business. It was a short Uber from the airport, so I figured I'd give it a try. This place is an absolute gem! It is a unique setup that has everything you'd possibly need from morning until late at night: Cafe in the front for coffee and fresh baked good, as well as full breakfast menu. Later in the heat of the afternoon, take a break from the beach (right across the street) and enjoy hand scooped specialty ice cream cones and shakes. Oh look, it's dinner time... and Playa Provisions opens their dining room and bar, some of the best, most relaxed ambience you'll find for miles around. But don't let the casual setting fool you, this is some incredible, elevated cuisine. Chef owners Nick and Brooke (who you might recognize) crafted a menu that's I've been eating my way through, and have yet to find a dish that's not delicious. You've been eating and drinking all day, and are exhausted? Don't leave yet! Wander into the back 'secret' whiskey bar, (Grain Whiskey Bar) and enjoy hand crafted cocktails from award winning bartenders (no, literally), in a gorgeous wood laden atmosphere. I consider myself a foodie, and try as many different restaurants and cuisines as I can. The 3 day brined smoked fried chicken-different taste, with soy and Chiles, a must!!!The Peruvian pork belly with sweet potato , Criolla and crispy quinoa , love it! The hands cut fries were awesome as was the pizza. Service was great. Would definitely go there again when in the area. “I love it here. Tiny spot so reservations are a must. Plenty parking in the back (aka the Ralph’s parking). Everything I ate made me happy. The appetizers are worth every penny and every bite is an experience. I followed suggestions I saw on social media and the hummus and lamb app with , a jollof platter (plus a couple other plates I loved but can’t remember) did not disappoint. The staff is super knowledgeable and nice so they can help you make a decision. One cocktail and one glass of wine made me wish I was going out after but it was a Thursday and I chose sleep!“

“Husband and I went to get a bite before a play at the Kirk Douglas. We had a reservation for a table but decided to sit at the bar. The service was fast and friendly. Wednesday is fun because bottles of wine are half off so it's a great deal. We had the tandoori chicken wings, brussel sprouts and the smashburger. Everything was delicious, perfectly seasoned and very fresh. We will definitely be back soon!“

“This was my first visit to this restaurant and I must say I was VERY pleased with my experience. I am vegan + food allergies and I was accommodated with care and excellency. The manager personally made my meal (lettuce wrapped veggie tacos) and it was delicious!!! I meant to take a picture. They were really good and satisfying.

“Dined here this evening. We enjoyed some Cocktails to start then ordered Beef Tartare, Shrimp with Veg and Roasted Carrots. Entrees varied from Pasta to Ribeye steak and Burger. All delicious. The Carbonara needed more bacon but that was the only issue. Desserts were great. The Espresso wasn’t hot enough for my guest but overall we enjoyed the evening celebrating a birthday. Will recommend to my friends for sure. Would recommend a reservation as it was very busy by the time we left at 6.30 pm“

“It was such a lovely venture out for my Mom’s birthday, on Friday. Alex and Dominique (management) are quite lovely, and helped make our dining experience all the more, a joy! Love the new additions to the menu, particularly the Mini Steak French Dips. The Chicken Parmesan was excellent with the twist of those ‘pepper-like sweet’ tomatoes. “At first glance, you probably thought Google Maps directed you to the wrong address. There's no way this is the correct burger restaurant, but looks can be deceiving. With a sketchy-looking "order inside" sign on the wall outside, you walk into the liquor store and see this hole-in-the-wall burger joint.

I ordered the classic hamburger and regular fries to be on the safe side, but I wish I had been braver to try out the other options. The total costs for the hamburger and fries came out to be ~$20 with a tip. The hamburger felt like a homemade hamburger fresh from off the grill. The fries were a little salty but goes perfect with the ketchup. We ate outside on the tables since there weren't any available seats inside or public bathrooms that we saw, although I could be wrong.

Summary:
- BATHROOM. I didn't see one but there could be one inside the liquor store for customers only.
- CLEANLINESS. The presentation of the food was good. Nothing spilled and all utensils were in the bag.
- COSTS. $ Decently priced for the quality.
- CUSTOMER SERVICE. The staff were very fast. It took about 10 minutes for the food to come out.
- FOOD QUALITY. The ingredients are fresh and super tasty. Nothing frozen, generic, or bland. Something about hamburgers make me nostalgic.
- FOOD QUANTITY. A decently sized meal.
- WAIT TIME. About a 10 minute wait.“

“We took some out of town guests here for lunch. Everyone was delighted. They loved watching the cars race on the track! Drinks were delicious 😋 We all ordered different items for lunch. All pleased with what they got. Would recommend and look forward to going back again.“

“I've been coming here for years, for many reasons: the people are friendly, the atmosphere is inviting, and the food is perfection. My faves are the breakfast burrito and Spanish latte. The juices are great too and my son loves the croissants. It is a little pricey, but the portions are big. They have a big parking lot in the back, along with indoor and outdoor seating.“

“We love this restaurant and enjoy manager Mark when we see him (congrats on the baby!). We typically sit at the bar but had a table last night. Our servers were nice, one was training. Whether due to the bar or just training, it took us 20 min after sitting down to get our first drink and place our initial order. Not a big deal. Our reservation was at 6:00. We had two glasses of wine each , some food items, and then dessert. At the conclusion of dessert at 7:15, the check was dropped without asking if we wanted anything else. Then the manager came over at around 7:20, no later than that, and asked if he could take our wine glasses. I said “well I think we'd like to order another glass of wine if that's ok.” He seemed annoyed and said we have another reservation for this table at 7:30 but I'll let your servers know. (The server did return and told us we couldnt in fact order another glass of wine but could go to the bar.) So for our night out and reservation we had essentially a one-hour period to enjoy ourselves before being pressured out by the manager. Really unfortunate. We left a big tip for the servers because they were friendly and it's not their fault they were being pressured. But dang, poor people skills by the manager and way to make some regulars feel unwelcome. We left without spending any more money and not sure we'll actually return, which is unfortunate since we really like this restaurant, Mark, the bartenders, servers, food runners. If this is the only restaurant I've heard of that places 1 hr 20 min window for a reservation, no problem, just tell us and we'll reserve elsewhere. But springing that on us at the end and having us feel unwelcome, pretty passive-aggressive and poor customer service.“

“This was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The food, the people, the atmosphere. I came here for dinner with my best friend and we left so full, happy, and excited to come back again. The prices are decent and the food is solid and it's an easy place to go with two people or eight people. “
