“This little bag was almost $30. I was so skeptical about the quantity and quality of the contents.
The first thing I pulled out was the overstuffed pastrami sandwich. It was dense and heavy. Well worth the price.
The Chili cheese fries with Pastrami, OMG!
I sat it on my lap, but it was piping hot, and I had to immediately pick it up. Pastrami spilled all over the bag when I opened the box. And it not only looked good, it was delicious!
There was only one person in the store when I arrived at about 11:30 a.m. I quickly learned that phone orders is the pro tip. As I waited for my order a steady stream of people picked up thier food, none looked like delivery services. The place is clean, bare bones with no seating.
This place has been on my list for a while.
It was well worth the detour.“

“I came across Playa Provisions when in town for business. It was a short Uber from the airport, so I figured I'd give it a try. This place is an absolute gem! It is a unique setup that has everything you'd possibly need from morning until late at night: Cafe in the front for coffee and fresh baked good, as well as full breakfast menu. Later in the heat of the afternoon, take a break from the beach (right across the street) and enjoy hand scooped specialty ice cream cones and shakes. Oh look, it's dinner time... and Playa Provisions opens their dining room and bar, some of the best, most relaxed ambience you'll find for miles around. But don't let the casual setting fool you, this is some incredible, elevated cuisine. Chef owners Nick and Brooke (who you might recognize) crafted a menu that's I've been eating my way through, and have yet to find a dish that's not delicious. You've been eating and drinking all day, and are exhausted? Don't leave yet! Wander into the back 'secret' whiskey bar, (Grain Whiskey Bar) and enjoy hand crafted cocktails from award winning bartenders (no, literally), in a gorgeous wood laden atmosphere. I consider myself a foodie, and try as many different restaurants and cuisines as I can. And yet, Playa Provisions remains my favorite restaurant in LA (and that's saying something, considering the amazing places in LA). Run, don't walk, to Playa Provisions. You'll thank me.“

“Warm, hands on and personalized service. A Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant…Food Made from Scratch, fresh, unique, different, and affordable. Highly recommended! The red onion focaccia bread with herb and Parmesan butter, added Burrata - best- seller, a must. The 3 day brined smoked fried chicken-different taste, with soy and Chiles, a must!!!The Peruvian pork belly with sweet potato , Criolla and crispy quinoa , love it! And the Grilled NY steak with green garlic chimichurri, chorizo aioli and pommes pont neuf, thick cut fries…my son prefers over the fried chicken.“

The service was great- Nina was so kind and offered great suggestions.

The food was robust with flavor and a generous portion.

The chicken bites were crispy, a little sweet and tangy.

The Jollof rice with crispy catfish was cooked to perfection. It came with black beans (delicious!) and sweet plantains.

The burger was good but definitely worth skipping and trying other menu items.

The house lemonade was so refreshing and not too sweet.

Overall wonderful experience. Will be back!“

“We had a wonderful Sunday brunch with an out-of-town friend. We were looking for a place that was somewhat on the way between picking her up at LAX and dropping her off at her hotel in DTLA Little Tokyo and could accommodate food restrictions (gluten-free and vegetarian) and Akasha was all that and more! Great space with delicious food - including great GF onion rings and a fantastic GF banana walnut loaf cake that was so good that we took one home with us too! The menu was varied, interesting, and flavorful. Looking forward to coming back for dinner!“

“Dined here this evening. We enjoyed some Cocktails to start then ordered Beef Tartare, Shrimp with Veg and Roasted Carrots. Entrees varied from Pasta to Ribeye steak and Burger. All delicious. The Carbonara needed more bacon but that was the only issue. Desserts were great. The Espresso wasn’t hot enough for my guest but overall we enjoyed the evening celebrating a birthday. Will recommend to my friends for sure. Would recommend a reservation as it was very busy by the time we left at 6.30 pm“

“This is a common spot for me to come with my family or significant other. I tend to always have a good or spectacular experience. Tonight, was no exception. Despite the bad service I encountered with one of my servers, Jen ( Manager) was able to correct the bad experience and rectify the problem. She made a night that could have possibly gone downhill into a night that became memorable as my partner and I were celebrating a special occasion.“

Starting with the welcoming staff at the entrance. John, your hospitality is the beginning of the joyful experience. The restaurant is so elegant. We enjoyed the vaulted ceilings with wood beams. We enjoyed the large window at the kitchen area so you can see the Chefs at work. We got to sit next to the impressive wine rack display. The restaurant’s ambiance wouldn’t be complete without the soft background music. Our waiter, Issac, was a delight. He provided us with his expertise in choosing our wines, appetizers, entrees, and desserts. It was a pleasure to meet to give special thanks to the Chef, Danny Le and Su Chef, Donald. Very expensive at $500 per night, used the 2 $10 free tickets at bar for 2 drinks and still owed $8.36. This was the host hotel and stayed 2 nights Fri/Sat July 22-23, 2022, with hamburger & soup in room, total $1100. T.“

“The fish bar is in a great location the bartender Rose makes amazing drinks she friendly & attentive. She knows you by name. The food was great atmosphere is relaxed all the staff treats you like family. Highly recommend!“

“It was such a lovely venture out for my Mom’s birthday, on Friday. Alex and Dominique (management) are quite lovely, and helped make our dining experience all the more, a joy! Love the new additions to the menu, particularly the Mini Steak French Dips. The Chicken Parmesan was excellent with the twist of those ‘pepper-like sweet’ tomatoes. If there is ever something you want to bring back to the menu I would highly suggest the sliders, they were missed for sure lol! Looking forward to dining again here, soon. Cheers! ✨💖🥂“

“Definitely worth the visit. Waitstaff were awesome. People were super nice. Food was really good (although maybe a little salty for some of our tastes). The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because no one came to clear away the before-dinner drink glasses or the plates and flatware from our appetizers, which limited table space for dinner.“

“So far I have tried the spicy Korean fried chicken bowl, pork belly bowl and japchae, all of delicious. Always fresh. My toddler only likes japchae from an AYCE kbbq in Garden Grove, but she has approved of yours. 10/10 every time. I am always greeted with a smile. I will keep coming back.“

“My friend told me this is a great neighborhood spot so I strolled over an hour before sunset.... I wanted to relax after a high-stimuli day of work and looked forward to winding down from work mode... Unbeknownst to me... a group of 30+ people came for a film networking event (!) a few minutes after I walked in. I had to leave much earlier than I wanted to b/c the atmosphere was not what I wanted or expected (but I am glad this film networking group was so well-attended - none of them knew each other!).

I had the chicken skewers - they were tasty!

“Brunch here is always a treat. I had the egg benedict, which was perfectly cooked, and their potato wedges are a must-try. The atmosphere is casual but lively, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. The place tends to get busy on weekends, but it’s worth the wait.“

“What a great spot. If you live in a beach town most restaurants have an indoor outdoor vibe that is great but can be loud and chilly. This place is more like a European pub/restaurant with great food and a quiet vibe. Drinks are wonderful. Well priced for the area and the quality of the food. It's upstairs with no patio but warm and intimate. Great for a date or a table of four. I'll be back.“
