“So far I have tried the spicy Korean fried chicken bowl, pork belly bowl and japchae, all of delicious. Always fresh. My toddler only likes japchae from an AYCE kbbq in Garden Grove, but she has approved of yours. 10/10 every time. I am always greeted with a smile. I will keep coming back.“

“I normally don’t go out for hot dogs because most places feel basic — just a plain hot dog like you’d grab at a gas station. Nothing exciting.

But this place was completely different. The flavors actually surprised me. The bread was grilled perfectly with a buttery, slightly sweet taste, mixed with a little spice and crunch from the toppings. You can tell they went beyond just throwing a hot dog in a bun. The combination of sauces, crispy onions, fresh ingredients, and toasted bread made the whole thing taste incredible. Your taste buds are basically screaming, “Wow, this is GOOD.”

The hot dog itself honestly wasn’t anything super special, but everything built around it made the experience awesome. If they ever created their own unique signature hot dog recipe instead of using a more standard one, I’m telling you… that would take this place to another level completely.“

“Warm, hands on and personalized service. A Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant…Food Made from Scratch, fresh, unique, different, and affordable. Highly recommended! The red onion focaccia bread with herb and Parmesan butter, added Burrata - best- seller, a must. The 3 day brined smoked fried chicken-different taste, with soy and Chiles, a must!!!The Peruvian pork belly with sweet potato , Criolla and crispy quinoa , love it! And the Grilled NY steak with green garlic chimichurri, chorizo aioli and pommes pont neuf, thick cut fries…my son prefers over the fried chicken.“

“We had a great dining experience at Urban Plates in Long Beach. Mariana explained the menu choices in a very unrushed manner, and we decided on the steak. I ordered the Chimichurri grass-fed steak with balsamic brussel sprouts and herb-roasted potatoes. All of it was delicious ( and healthy too!). The deserts were absolutely killer too. We will definitely eat here again next time we're in Long Beach.“

“Tonight we, my husband and I, with our dear friends, the Crays, dined at Tomat for the first of what will be many times. The restaurant features a dining room and a roof top patio. A welcoming, comfortable space. The staff were all friendly and very knowledgeable about all menu items. Our server Miley took excellent care of us throughout dinner and dessert. She assisted us with choosing items that would pair well with each other. She was never too busy to stop to see if everything was to our liking. She brought the chef to our table so we could let him know personally how much we enjoyed his creations. He gave us a bit of background on his plan of sustainability and creativity for his restaurant. The food was amazing. We had several appetizers. The tuna carpaccio was amazing, light and dark tuna with the freshest tomatoes. The welsh rarebit was so delicious. The weiser melon with strawberry kimchi was a delicious surprise. The house milled saffron rice was amazing. Our mains did not disappoint. The trout and chips were excellent. Everyone at the table said “best trout we have ever had”. The vegetable chips were outstanding. The vaca vieja ribeye was perfectly cooked. The pork three ways with chamoy was also perfectly cooked. Dessert was madelines, warm from the oven, with the strawberry sorbet and the saffron ice cream. All were outstanding. Overall, this was a fabulous dining experience. Great food with great service in such a comfortable atmosphere. And, we have already made reservations for next month!“

“The brunch here was fantastic! The passionfruit cocktail was refreshing, but not too sweet. The chopped salad was also excellent and something I would genuinely order again. The staff working were all so kind and showed me wonderful hospitality since I was dining alone. The house made fennel sausage was perfectly juicy and full of flavor. It was a marvelous meal and as a local, definitely a place I would go back to !!“

Very expensive at $500 per night, used the 2 $10 free tickets at bar for 2 drinks and still owed $8.36. This was the host hotel and stayed 2 nights Fri/Sat July 22-23, 2022, with hamburger & soup in room, total $1100. T.“

The burger and fries was okay. Disappointed that they say it's a 1/2 pound patty but this was not, it was barely a 1/4 pounder. It tasted fine, but was just very small compared to the menu description.

Starting with the welcoming staff at the entrance. John, your hospitality is the beginning of the joyful experience. The restaurant is so elegant. We enjoyed the vaulted ceilings with wood beams. We enjoyed the large window at the kitchen area so you can see the Chefs at work. We got to sit next to the impressive wine rack display. The restaurant’s ambiance wouldn’t be complete without the soft background music. Our waiter, Issac, was a delight. He provided us with his expertise in choosing our wines, appetizers, entrees, and desserts. It was a pleasure to meet to give special thanks to the Chef, Danny Le and Su Chef, Donald. Their expertise is why we had an amazing and delicious dinner.“

“We heard about your birthday special of Turf and Surf and decided to take advantage of it. Easy to make the reservation online. We got there and were seated quickly. We had the calamari and shrimp appetizer which was great! We shared a bowl of the clam chowder which was the best I had in years! The birthday girl got the Turf and Surf and I had the Shrimp Pasta with vodka sauce. Both were very good! We ended up taking half of it home! Our server, Adam, was very nice and even took pictures of us to mark the occasion. Overall, we had a great experience! We would definitely do it again!“

“Amazing first impression. I don't normally write reviews for a first experience, but this deserves an exception. I got their chicken Alfredo, and have a garlic allergy. He was able to accommodate it which took a little extra prep time, and I still felt well after eating. The portion was large enough it made for an excellent leftovers lunch today, too. So good! I can't wait to go back for this item again. The restaurant is mostly designed for take-out, and I appreciate seeing the A rating in the window and cleanliness of their food prep area. I am interested in other menu items, too, and hope to order again soon. I appreciate how wonderful the food was, and the ownder's kindness to be able to accommodate my unusual request. “It was such a lovely venture out for my Mom’s birthday, on Friday. Alex and Dominique (management) are quite lovely, and helped make our dining experience all the more, a joy! Love the new additions to the menu, particularly the Mini Steak French Dips. The Chicken Parmesan was excellent with the twist of those ‘pepper-like sweet’ tomatoes. “Lovely place. Unfortunately for us, we've been passing this restaurant by for years, as there is almost always a small crowd waiting outside for a table. However, today we took a chance, parked on the street near the restaurant & ventured inside. -- The decor is not fancy, but the atmosphere is friendly, light & inviting. And, the smells coming from the kitchen, as well as the custom coffee drinks was enticing.
-- Our waitress was very friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, explained several dishes, answered questions we had about drinks, menu options, made solid recommendations, and easily took our orders. -- The drinks arrived fairly quickly, followed a few minutes later by our requested orders. Our meals were hot & freshly prepared as ordered (& had not been left sitting under warming lights.) The items we chose were very tasty, the fresh fruit cups were chilled & appeared to be prepped shortly before the meal was served. Very nice. Long before we had finished eating, we'd decided we would be returning to this hidden little gem on PCH to adventure further into the menu & sample some additional treats prepared by the chef & staff. “We picked this restaurant based on the ratings. We were visiting from out of town. So we walked the 20 min to try it out. It was thoroughly worth it. We were greeted and seated right away. The server, Samantha was a delight. We had the shrimp and grits and skillet with chicken with biscuits. Everything was flavorful. Looking forward to visiting again when we come back. The food is delicious and has a wide variety of choices on the menu (perfect for everyone). Very reasonable pricing (very inexpensive especially for the quality). Literally everything you could want or think of is here -- there's even board/card games. Events are hosted! Wish it was closer to me because we would come every weekend! 10/10 RECOMMEND!“
