“What a fantastic hole-in-the-wall gem we stumbled upon! We were unfamiliar with the area, and found this place was open when most other sushi places were closed, so off we went. Did not know this was a tiny 12-seat strip mall sushi restaurant, but man... it did NOT disappoint!

Everything we had from the pork gyoza, tempura, teriyaki chicken, to the sushi (chirashi don) was perfect. A+ on the fish; large cuts of very fresh sushi, and perfect sushi rice. All at amazing prices.

If we ever return to Half Moon Bay, we will definitely be going back. I highly recommend this place.“

“This took me far too long to write, but I wanted to find the right words to say. My husband and I had been waiting two long years to get married. We postponed twice because of the pandemic and in the course of that time changed our venue to San Benito House. Let me tell you, that was the BEST decision we ever made. Not only is the venue itself incredibly beautiful and the food so delicious, but Kai and his staff bent over backwards for us and all of our guests. Kai is the ultimate hype guy and he took what normally would have been a stressful event to plan, and made it so easy and fun. I would (and will) recommend that anyone who is wanting a Half Moon Bay wedding, that this is the ultimate place to go. Our guests are still talking about the day and if we could, we’d do it 1000 times over just to experience the magic again. Thank you, thank you, thank you! This is for the Half Moon Bay location. My family and I are locals and have been going here since they opened. I also frequent the Pacifica location. On 09/07/20 at about 1:30 I went in to order for my family. There was a new girl I had not seen before. I speak enough Spanish to get by. Suffice to say that she was deliberately messing with me. One of the cooks came up front, supposedly to help her, and from their banter it was clear they had no interest in helping me and thought it was funny to mess with me. They even discussed charging me for extra meat when I asked for cilantro on a burrito, and laughed about it. I simply walked out. I could speculate as to why they behaved this way, but I am only sharing the facts and what I know. I do know that while I MAY go back, if I see this particular crew, I will walk right out. I have never had this problem before, but this crew thought it would be more fun to mess with me instead of doing their jobs.“

If you are vegetarian you are fine but if you are vegan is way more complicated as the dishes don't have a clear list of ingredients and the salsas are a mistery, they just bring to the table with no explanation. The allegedly vegan soup have some ghee butter flavor.

Sometimes flies inside the restaurant but better then mordida/ tres amigos, same quality as gallina(good), burritos are gettin skinnier (not super meaty) tacos are ok for price point but still imo the best in hmb, definitely my go to noticed they don't put as much meat as used 2, I'll b back“

“I've craved a good NY style pizza for years here in Cali and recently had some when I was back in New England and was sad thinking it would take another year or so before I'd have some more but was SO happy to try some of this and it was SO good! It was perfectly crispy at the bottom and the sauce is exactly what I think of when I think of NY style pizza (went to college on Long Island so I really know what NY pizza is like lol). Even more amazing is they felt they over heated my slice so they didn't even try to give that to me and just apologized for it taking a bit longer but wanted to give me a good slice! Love that level of quality control ❤️ we WILL be back! I especially love that the prices are very reasonable for the bay area!

Update: we did come back and it's just as good, if not better than I remember! It's perfectly crispy, the sauce is exactly how I have tasted NY pizza while in NY for college, and my son ate almost a whole piece by himself, despite it being close to the size of his head 🤣 do yourself the favor and come have some fantastic pizza!“

“I have been Jonesin for for a lobster roll. I ordered the lobster and cheese sandwich, thinking it would be a grilled cheese with a dash of lobster. Boy, was I wrong! It has a generous helping of lobster, the right amount of cheese and perfect on sourdough! This went well with a black and tan, along with some delicious cheesy tots! This is a really nice, friendly pub and I will be back!!“
