“Despite living just a few blocks away, this was our first time dining at Tar & Roses. I had heard nothing but rave reviews for years, and I can finally understand why. The menu options were incredible, the prices fair, great understanding of dietary restrictions, and honestly, just incredible flavor and quality all around. Especially loved the gem salad and pea appetizers and ribeye for two. We'll definitely be back soon and already looking forward to trying other dishes.“

“I came across Playa Provisions when in town for business. It was a short Uber from the airport, so I figured I'd give it a try. This place is an absolute gem! It is a unique setup that has everything you'd possibly need from morning until late at night: Cafe in the front for coffee and fresh baked good, as well as full breakfast menu. Later in the heat of the afternoon, take a break from the beach (right across the street) and enjoy hand scooped specialty ice cream cones and shakes. Oh look, it's dinner time... and Playa Provisions opens their dining room and bar, some of the best, most relaxed ambience you'll find for miles around. But don't let the casual setting fool you, this is some incredible, elevated cuisine. Chef owners Nick and Brooke (who you might recognize) crafted a menu that's I've been eating my way through, and have yet to find a dish that's not delicious. You've been eating and drinking all day, and are exhausted? Don't leave yet! Wander into the back 'secret' whiskey bar, (Grain Whiskey Bar) and enjoy hand crafted cocktails from award winning bartenders (no, literally), in a gorgeous wood laden atmosphere. I consider myself a foodie, and try as many different restaurants and cuisines as I can. And yet, Playa Provisions remains my favorite restaurant in LA (and that's saying something, considering the amazing places in LA). Run, don't walk, to Playa Provisions. You'll thank me.“

She recommended the Lobster sliders to start and a wonder white wine which we enjoyed throughout the meal. She spaced out each course so we had some time to savor the unique and wonderful flavors which we so appreciated. The albacore cerviche was one of the best cerviche I have ever had anywhere. And the boar ragu pasta was divine. But the Tikka Massala Chicken was the most delicious presentation of chicken imaginable. We also loved the desert Allison suggested which was an unusual take on peanut butter and whipped cream and fresh berries. Just a delightful way to end the perfect night. The red onion focaccia bread with herb and Parmesan butter, added Burrata - best- seller, a must. The 3 day brined smoked fried chicken-different taste, with soy and Chiles, a must!!!The Peruvian pork belly with sweet potato , Criolla and crispy quinoa , love it! And the Grilled NY steak with green garlic chimichurri, chorizo aioli and pommes pont neuf, thick cut fries…my son prefers over the fried chicken.“

The host allowed us to change our hi top reservation due to two of my guests being seasoned and fierce, of course. I greatly appreciated that! We were looking for a place that was somewhat on the way between picking her up at LAX and dropping her off at her hotel in DTLA Little Tokyo and could accommodate food restrictions (gluten-free and vegetarian) and Akasha was all that and more! Great space with delicious food - including great GF onion rings and a fantastic GF banana walnut loaf cake that was so good that we took one home with us too! The menu was varied, interesting, and flavorful. Looking forward to coming back for dinner!“

Our server was very professional and helpful and the dishes we go were well cooked and huge so we couldn't finish it all. A great starter is the firecracker shrimps - suggested by the young man who served us! Another great thing about the place is that it closes later than other places in the area so you can stay for drinks if you like.“

Hunter, the polite server said I'll clean up the table right away. Hunter had a great disposition, polite and professional. Another guest complained about the lack of service to the same server, his absence and had to look for him in the kitchen to express her dissatisfaction in the service to which he shrugged and then asked if she could have condiments brought to her table to which he signed and sarcastically repeated her request.

If you decide to dine here, ask for Hunter and NO ONE ELSE. If she's not available, please take your business elsewhere.“

“The food here is so good! The portions are also huge, my partner and I only ate half of what we got pretty much and were able to have the leftovers for brunch the following day ?, and it still schmacked after being microwaved! 5/5.

Atmosphere was great, washrooms were clean as well.

Only thing that sucked was finding parking, but we’re not from town, so parking could just be normal for locals?

Overall, you gotta try this place. The Vicky’s Breakfast is well balanced, the Pastrami was cooked perfectly and the roasted tomato and herb salad pairs with it so well to cut through that fat. The mushrooms were a sleeper in that plate ?‍? it was delicious! The chicken and waffles were great too, batter was light and crispy.“

We love that they have a dog friendly patio and are close to so many other wonderful restaurants on Rose.

We tried the Lambrusco, Pinot Noir, and rosé and snacked on some truffle chips.

We left our bubble and trekked into the city for an event, and I’m so glad we did — Wolfsglen in Westwood was absolutely worth it!

I went with a group of girlfriends and we ordered family style, which was the perfect way to try a variety of dishes. Honestly, it’s been a long time since I’ve been able to say that every single plate was better than the one before. We loved everything we ordered: the Brussels sprouts, hummus, burrata salad, and the Gorgonzola pizza — all delicious, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavor.

The atmosphere is that perfect blend of upscale but relaxed — stylish and comfortable without feeling stuffy. The service was outstanding. There was always someone nearby ready to help, and every staff member we encountered was genuinely kind and attentive. A special shoutout to Baron, the manager and co-owner, who was incredibly hospitable and made us feel so welcome.

I forgot to snap food photos (next time!), but I’ll be posting a shot of me and my friends enjoying our table. We’ll definitely be back. “I love it here because it’s old fashion great table service because management excels in traffic patterns with cross trained wait staff and bidders. No server leaves the kitchen empty handed and the vibe is to make their customers happy with continuous even flow table service. Disney please take note! I am not of of millennial restaurants where stand at a cash register and pay the tip upfront then assigned a number & number holder then fend & elbow for a table. This is old school service upgraded with innovative traffic management to expedite cuisines & cocktails. I love the intimacy of the raised railroad car booths where I can actually hear my guest’s conversation and speak to wait staff at eye level. And the bathrooms are so modern and spotless! The observation window to see the cooking staff hard at work is as much fun as a cooking show! Chocolate chip cookies are warm but melt in your mouth!
