“THE BEST Teriyaki Bowl in the LA area! I always order the beef, chicken, and veggie bowl because it's the best. Lots of meat and veggies. Ratio of approximately 30% rice, 20% veggies, and 50% meat. Lots of cabbage, which I like. The teriyaki sauce is not too sweet, which I like. However, they are a little light on the teriyaki sauce. Just ask for extra teriyaki sauce. Made to order, which I like. I LIKE! :)“

Our server was condescending and repeatedly interrupted our moment by crossing between us without a word. When I asked about drinks, she was short and even gave inaccurate descriptions. The Wagyu carpaccio practically melted in my mouth and was such a great way to start the meal. The uni mazemen was rich, deeply savory, and packed with flavor. We also loved the Wagyu katsu sando, which had the perfect balance of tender, juicy meat and fluffy bread. The hand rolls were incredibly fresh, and we ended the evening with a slice of cheesecake that was light yet indulgent.

The craft cocktails were just as impressive as the food. They feature creative Japanese-inspired flavors like matcha and fresh citrus, and the presentation was beautiful.

I also loved the decor and overall vibe. The atmosphere was intimate, and the music really added to the experience. Everything was reasonably priced, making this a great spot for a nice meal without feeling overly expensive or crowded. They also offer valet parking, but I ended up parking in a lot around the corner, which was super convenient.

“I came back for lunch for the first time in nearly 25 years, and it felt like stepping back in time. Since moving away, I hadn’t visited this area at all. The interior is unchanged, the service is warm and welcoming, and the homemade Japanese comfort food is just as delicious as I remembered. You’d be hard-pressed to find another place in the Valley that serves hijiki (seaweed) rice so casually and authentically.“

I LOVE salmon, and their salmon is buttery and very good quality. For their price and quality, I’d say it’s definitely worth it. I’ve tried their salmon delight, crunch roll, dragon roll, blossom roll, salmon avocado combo, combo an and combo c. I tried out their new menu today, the salmon crunch, and I really liked it (apologies for the half eaten picture). Might be my new go to menu item. I really the fried onions on there. “I had an excellent lunch at Sushi Yuzu. The restaurant has a comfortable, welcoming atmosphere, and everything I ordered tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared.

I started with the tuna sampler, which was beautifully presented and offered several different cuts and preparations of tuna. Each one had its own distinct flavor and texture, and the quality of the fish really stood out. It was a great way to sample the restaurant’s sushi and a perfect start to lunch.

The highlight, though, was the spicy tuna crispy rice. The rice was crisp and golden on the outside without being overly hard or greasy, while the spicy tuna was fresh, flavorful, and nicely balanced. It had just enough heat without overpowering the fish. I’d even dare to say Sushi Yuzu’s spicy tuna crispy rice was better than Katsuya’s, which is a very high bar.

The food felt refined without being fussy, and the quality made a casual lunch feel special. Sushi Yuzu is definitely worth visiting if you enjoy fresh sushi, especially tuna. I’ll absolutely be returning to try more of the menu.“
