“The regular crew does a phenomenal job with preparing and serving what I order.

I’ve pinned down a $45 plate that I love. If I’m doing well that week with jobs I’ll buy a $90 plate.

The one missing star in service was the secondary crew, they couldn’t keep up, they were not prepared. Many items were out and substitutes don’t make what a complete meal makes.“

“I came here to check out their breakfast and let me tell you I was impressed. They had this toast with avocado, onions and tomatoes 10 out of 10 I even tried their breakfast udon and the broth was so delicious. I even got into their onigiri and I tried their California their crunch the tuna and the salmon, and they were all so flavorful. But their yogurt Matcha was my favorite as well as their torch spam musubi so so good definitely you’re gonna wanna come check out for their breakfast. It is such a cute little mom and pop shop. The house salad was healthy (not just iceberg lettuce) and had a generous portion for one person. My friend said it was super delicious - Sunset roll, blue crab roll, and miso black cod were on point flavor wise. Only negatives were that the seaweed was a bit chewy (not super tough though) and the soup slightly salty. The staff was kind, friendly, attentive, and patient - hard to come by these days. Prices are reasonable and I plan to come back. Parking is tougher at times in this plaza, but at some point, you'll find a spot.“

Super decadent, generous with the sauce (you can request a small scoop of rice for free afterwards to finish off the sauce), great noodle texture, amazing taste!! The first bite was heaven.

Looks small at first but that’s just because the bowl is big/I was struggling to finish halfway through.

“My husband and I have tried ramen in both Japan and Korea. We couldn't forget the rich and creamy pork bone broth of tonkotsu and miso ramen, so we decided to check out this restaurant, and the broth is simply a masterpiece. For Koreans, this could even be a perfect hangover soup after a night of drinking. The broth is top-notch. We went during lunch, and the prices were very reasonable. I think we'll be coming back often.“

I’ve been to different teriyaki places and this has to be my top favorite now! Very fresh and flavorful the place is very clean Inside, and the employees were very sweet. “This is a jewel of a place, it's on the southside of the street on Whittier Blvd about a quarter mile west of Beach blvd. Their sushi rolls are excellent and their prices are a bit lower than other sushi places who overcharge for the same faire.
Gunn, the proprietor is the nicest guy and he's humorous and goes out of his way to make you feel welcome every time you come in. The best tasting sushi in the area!

“I decided to order some Tonkatsu from Ginkgo Katsu, on a food delivery app based on the good reviews. Thankfully the reviews were on-point this time! The Katsu arrived in this kind of fancy, big box with the meal in different sections - the Tonkatsu, rice, cabbage salad, Katsu sauce; then separately was the curry sauce (I ordered extra), pickled veggies, dressing. Everything was delicious with generous portions. I would most definitely get a meal from Ginkgo Katsu, again and again“

“Saw a picture of the Yakisoba Katsu sandwich and I had to have one! It was awesome! The Katsu was crispy and the meat tender. In short it was perfect! (not dry at all!) the yakisoba noodles was a nice addition as it absorbed the tonkatsu sauce and the cole slaw dressing! I also loved the brioche bread! A perfect touch. The sandwich was delicious and not like anything I have tasted before! This with a side of the curry fries! (YUM!) I'll definitely be back for more!“

“This place did not appear automatically on Google Maps and we just saw it in the area. But so glad we did! Got the donkatsu (Donkkaseu) combo with soba. Portions were pleasantly larger than expected and we felt contently full afterwards. The katsu was fried perfectly and had a nice crunch! The donkatsu had lots of meat, and there were also side dishes that came with the meal!

“My review is for a to go order I placed on Yelp. I found the menu to be pretty extensive with lots of options and combos for various preferences. I ordered a bento box combination and it was a ton of food! My order was ready to by the time I drove there, about 10 minutes or so, was a very easy process. All the food was vert hot and crunchy even when I got it home. They supplied all of the sauces, condiments, utensils, everything you would need to enjoy your meal. Overall it was happy with the food and service. Would love to sit in and dine some time. Will definitely be returning to try more things!“

“This has been my go-to place now when i want to eat somewhere that is affordable, has a good value and in a setting where i can grab other things for my shopping on my way in or out. I find myself sitting for hours here enjoying a lot of food at good prices and just the ambience of being in a foodcourt setting.

Ther offer a curry dish and a katsu dish with everything they have. The curry dishes just has the item with rice and curry, however, if you add a dollar more, you get a katsu dish when includes a soup and salad. Theyre not stingy with their portions either, so expect all their servings to be huge. Its actually enough for me to take home and feed me for at least two more meals. Of all the options they have, i recommend the fish katsu - every time ive had it, i can barely close the lid, the texture is the most crunchy and the inside is cooked just right... and i just like fish.“

“I used to come here regularly and my first visit was back in 2001. The food and service has always been great. Mimi had quite the personality and perhaps some might've thought she was rude but I loved the character that she added. I'm not sure if she's still there but I know today I saw Yohan who has always been the most lovely pleasant server ever. I've heard some people tell me that it isn't the same and it has fallen down hill but today I went in with my father and I still enjoyed the atmosphere and the service. I'm a regular for their yellowtail nigiri, no wasabi and my family completely adores their Spicy Beef Udon. Sushi tastes pretty fresh, though I recently had their assorted sashimi bowl and the finish tasted a bit...old? Can't put my finger on it but they also forgot the (AMAZING) miso soup that came with it. Bummer but still enjoyed my meal. They also have great customer service :D We went 3-4 times and they were already recognizing our faces.All in all, I truly recommend. Great during non-COVID but their food is still great to-go. Maybe they could add the option to take soba to-go though, I'm hung-up on it.“

“Located right next to Cal Poly college, Jinza Teriyaki is a great spot to eat after classes, my all time favorite is the Loco Moco bowl. The people are incredibly nice and especially early the place is a nice quite area to eat in. “I had came here for some to go terriyaki chicken before but this time was the first time eating at the restaurant.

It’s a cute little Japanese restaurant with a variety of options from rolls, sushi, warm plates/bento boxes.
I have definitely not explored a lot, but what we got was great.

We tried chicken gyozas, which were okay. We also tried the shrimp eggroll recommended by the owner as she told us the filling was made in house, which was good!
For the plates, I got the sesame chicken as I wanted to change from terriyaki. It was really good. Filling with the rice and salad. The miso soup was actually really good!

Overall, it was a great experience. We got to talk a lot with the owner, and I learned a bit more about that place that has been around for 20 years!
So, my only advice is: support your local smaller businesses. They need it and you get to enjoy nice food!“
