“Scoma's was one of the highlights of my summer last year. It was at Scoma's that I discovered that I am, in fact, a Lazy Man who requires Lazy Man's Cioppino. The restaurant is lovely, tucked away on a pier. The service was wonderful -- the waitress was really nice and seemed to love the food. The lazy man's cioppino was incredible! A warm, savory, thick tomato broth with perfectly cooked seafood. The mussels and clams were so juicy and succulent. The scallops (3) were so good, fat, and tender. The shrimp was yummy and not overcooked. The fish was well cooked -- not my favorite component, but still good. And of course, no need to get down with the crab shells since the crab meat has been pre-picked. I am a lazy man and this is my cioppino of choice. Definitely worth the price! The Rockefeller oysters were meh; too much cheese and spinach. I've had better broiled oysters (Acme in NOLA!). The oysters themselves were good, but it was hard to tell under the cheese sauce. We were seated next to a couple who had moved from the Bay to the East Coast, and cited Scoma's as a reason why they missed the Bay. I definitely want to return during future visits to SF!“

“Quick meal the day before with little “brioche” stuffed with cheese and ham, experience repeated the next morning for breakfast. Coffees with its top almond milk variant, it's a change from the usual American coffees. Delicious coconut pastry. “Acai” bowl very good but I would have appreciated it being noted that it was a “smoothie sorbet”, not translated into English. Not ideal for the morning. The fruit salads served to the neighbor were tempting.Brazilian cuisine to try. Refined and tastefully decorated.“

“I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! AHHHHHHHHHHHH!! Krispy Kreme who? These donuts are beyond words of delicious and delightful. I drive from the East Bay usually late night when my husband and I are craving phenomenal donuts. The donuts are extremely fresh, the times I've been here there has been an older gentleman making them and racks of donuts ready to be bought. Yummmmmmm. Just incredible tasty donuts. You can tell the oil they get made in is also very fresh, no after taste of old oil. Donuts are not super greasy. The service is magnificent! The first time coming here the woman was extremely helpful and kind. The second time a young man helped us and he had a great personality and energy. He was telling us some of the stories of the donut place. Really enjoyed his service! The ambiance is an old school donut shop with closed off seating area but looks very vintage. Grab and go type of donut shop right on Polk St. RECOMMEND THIS PLACE 100% :)“

“Went here to try the SF restaurant week menu. It has a very nice atmosphere and the food is presented well. I felt that the experience missed the mark a bit though considering the prices. The menu is authentic Mexican but the flavours were lacking. For example, in the hibiscus margarita, the hibiscus was soo diluted compared to one you would get at a nice restaurant in Mexico. And it was similar for the food… the flavours were lacking. The duck on the menu was nice but too salty, while the dessert was too sweet. Our specific server seemed inexperienced but other staff were very attentive. In summary, I was hoping for the flavours to better match what I get in Mexico.“

“This is one of my favorite restaurants. Food is excellent, very European in presentation and portion size, with good variety. The staff is extremely professional, and will likely remember you on future visits. Atmosphere is very warm and comfortable.“

“I still give this place five stars for their gluten free baked goods and take home lasagna but overall four stars because their service still sucks most of the time. I went by here recently on a Sunday morning before a meeting to grab something hot to eat. I love their hot pockets. However, it was 9:30 am. A number of people around me and I started to form a line. Some people asked the staff questions about the pastries and they answered while putting stuff out. None of the staff thought to tell us that they didn't open until 10 am on Sundays. After about 5 minutes of being ignored, I saw the small sign for their hours. I pointed it out to others and we all left. That was a horrible experience as I was hungry and now didn't have time to get something else before my meeting. On Pi Day, I came by and was pleased they had a number of pies available in different sizes. I picked up a small Chocolate Pie that was low in sugar and a small Cherry Pie. They were the perfect size for the three of us though they could have fed more people. We didn't finish the pies ourselves. The Chocolate Pie was yummy and perfect for me but my husband said it wasn't sweet enough for him. We all loved the Cherry Pie! We went back recently and picked up their pizza dough. It came with two rounds. They were awesome!!! We put on our own toppings and popped them into the oven. They came out delicious. I love their food. I just wish the service was better.“

“We had a great brunch. The food is top notch, yet it feels like an old school diner. A nice tip: if you order a cappuccino, they will refill you with coffee at no charge.Parking: They have a small free lot, but there is also parking available on the street“

“Small wine bar in the heart of Russian Hill. Perfect spot for 2-3 people, since most of the seating is bar seating or communal tables. All the servers are knowledgeable about the wine selection and always have great recommendations. I love their orange wines and all the food is amazing. They make beautiful cheese plates and pair the cheeses perfectly with jams and honey. If you can't decide what cheeses to order, tell them what you like/dislike and they will curate the perfect board for you!“

“We're from San Francisco and were getting married in the city, but decided to venture across the bridge after striking out on other vendors due to price, size limitations (270+ people), or general availability. We feel so lucky that we came across Krumbs based on the A+ experience, from tasting to delivery. One thing we truly hoped for was a true cake-tasting experience. In the post-COVID landscape, everything is "come buy cupcakes and let us know what you think." We went out to Krumbs and were so excited to be able to sit down and be treated to all of their cake, mousse, and frosting flavors, and even though we had only inquired about one flavor, we left with two. They were also super-flexible when it came to design and weighed in with their own opinions after learning about the wedding vibe, cake topper, etc. Their pricing was affordable but the experience felt premium in every way, from the tasting to delivery and putting the finishing touches at the venue. We were able to hand them off to our venue coordinator and they managed everything from there. We also had them do our sheet cake for the rest of the guests so everyone could have the same experience. We like them so much we went back to buy a birthday cake for my mother-in-law a few weeks later. SF is great but I feel like we found a gem in Krumb's and would recommend them to anyone.“

“Love this place! Pizza is delicious, its a fun casual atmosphere, and they have a great list of drinks on tap. They also have roadside service for weekend nights where it's maybe a little too busy to get a table. Fun place to catch a basketball game too!“

“Wow. Just WOW. My friends and I walked in to a wonderful speech by a husband to his wife. The feels were there. An intimate little restaurant with live music and dance. The food is all vegan and there are plenty of GF options. And everything is just phenomenal. Highly recommend the platter so you can try a variety. The lasagna was just a must! The horchata was also really good. Creamy and not too sweet. The brownie with ice cream is delicious! It is heavy on the coconut, but it will convert you. The founders is the restaurant were playing life music. The environment was so comfortable and inviting we got up to dance in between courses.“

“Yummy food but not very memorable in terms of like amazing italian joints. I loved so much about this place but something is not clicking and i'm drawing a blank on the food. I know I walked out of there feeling like it could have been better but I loved the vibes and the dining room.“
“Fresh baked cookies with very unique cookie flavors (like funfetti & carrot cake). I did expect it to be cloying and super sweet, but it was nice. You could taste the ingredients and the ice cream was great without being "syrup-y". The staff was super friendly, but be warned that they do not always have all the flavors all the time. We waited for about 15 min because we wanted to try the funfetti cookie and some were just coming out of the oven. There were also a few ice cream flavors not in stock. You can take it on-the-go and walk around Fisherman's Wharf, or you can sit in a few picnic tables and chairs to eat it there. Worth a stop and better than the chain ice cream shops nearby.“

“My entire family loves Lotus and we appreciate that the food is made with high quality, organic ingredients. This food is the closest we've gotten to how food tastes back home in India :) Recently I worked with the Lotus team to cater a 45-50 person event. Surinder, the owner, was phenomenally helpful. He was in touch with me regularly, on time for delivery, provided everything I needed including the matches to keep the chafing dishes warm throughout the night. He went above and beyond. We were already HUGE fans of this place and are now SUPER fans. My preschool-aged daughter loves this place too and asks to go here all the time :) HIGHLY rec!“

“The first Japanese restaurant I have eaten at outside Japan that has the emphasis on quality, attention to detail, and customer service that is expected there. Not all the dishes were fantastic, but the overall experience was excellent. I'll try some different things next time.“
“If I could take away half a star for being too pricey, I would, but the quality of the food is outrageously high and the dude that runs the place is helpful and was nice to my kiddos. The Calabrian chilis are insanely good, so is the oil if you can find it (he rarely carries it). The pasta is also exceptional and is the best you'll find. If only I could make it cost less... nonetheless, I can't recommend this spot enough.“

“Ate upstairs in the restaurant, which was more relaxed and much quieter than downstairs. Service was friendly and food was delicious. Their sourdough really is amazing! Also, really enjoyed being able to see the baking process through the glass and reading all the information about the business and San Francisco in the museum area.“

“Really cute and healthy smoothie shop in a nice shopping center. I ordered a Maca My Day, which I thought was pretty bad, and so they gave me a free replacement of another drink. Very respectable. Wasn’t a big fan of the other smoothie either…But on the bright side, they have fresh delicious vegetarian wraps!“

“This is one of our most favorite alternatives to fast food. I went by yesterday with my son and the manager came out and told us of a new item on their menu. It was a salmon salad crunch and it was marvelous. Wonderful food. Wonderful service. Healthy!! Highly recommend!!!“

“Came here on the weekend for a late / light lunch and got the salmon toasty. The inside is bright and there's plenty of seating. The restroom was clean. Service was friendly and efficient. “This place is amazing! The atmosphere is inviting, the desserts are delicious, and the coffee is hands down one of the best I’ve had in town. Without a doubt, Cavalli is now my top spot in North Beach. If you’re in the area, it’s a must-visit.“

“If you’re like ice cream sandwiches (I once ate a whole box by myself) than this is the place to go! You start by picking your base from about 6 different cookies or brownies. They will warm them up for you. Than you pick your ice cream from about 12-18 kinds. It was big AND delicious. Staff was very friendly and you can eat the inside or outside. DO IT!Kid-friendliness: Super kid friendly“

“I'm long overdue writing this review. I have visited Servino's four times over the years (when I'm in Tiburon...I live over an hour away), and I look forward to visiting the restaurant at their new (former) location. The staff make great recommendations for what's good from the menu as well as wines to accompany the dishes. Delectable Italian dishes, great wines, welcoming service (they make guests feel like family), incredible views, and their famous Opera Nights make Servino's a special place for any occasion, even if it's just because you want to relax over dinner and a sunset.“

“If I could give 6 stars I would!!Amazing selection of pizzas that are super friendly for anyone with dietary restrictions, lovely cafe type ambiance with opportunity to people watch folks on the main street, and great service! My husband and I came here on a Sunday afternoon after a quick hike with friends - we were all hungry! The menu offered vegan and gluten free options (including vegan tiramisu!).We went to order at the register and were given recommendations/top sellers. My husband and I love olives so we decided to go with Olive You. The food came out quick! Given our group size we decided to eat at the picnic tables at the park across the street. The pizza was delicious!!! They weren't shy with the olives and the crust was nice and crispy. We definitely want to be back to try other items off the menu!“
“Time and time again Heather and the team at Flour Craft impress me. They've made every holiday and birthday special for our gluten free family for the last ten years. The cakes, pastries, seasonal varieties and sourdough bread are fantastic. They've redone the store in San Anselmo to be open, modern and welcoming boasting the best ambiance around. I'm grateful that my mom found this place years ago! What sets this bakery apart from it's competitors is their willingness to create unique and delicious varieties, granolas, breads and savory tartines! Can't beat the staff friendliness, store cleanliness, pastry-chef creativity and baked goods consistency.“

“Obsessed with this place! Love ordering from here during the winter months when it's chilly outside. Go-to orders: chicken stew, red lentil soup, and chicken soup (especially when sick!). Prior to discovering Soupchu, I found it difficult to find a place with great soups/soup options. So grateful for Soupchu!!“

“Looking for a coffee to go in the area we ended up in shoreline coffee shop. As we were walking towards the Cafe we preceived the aromas of the food coming to us and inviting us to stay and eat. “I don't normally leave reviews on yelp but we had such a great experience I could not not leave a review. We came in 2 min before closing and the owner Bill graciously welcomed us in. We had the white bean soup, beet salad and sliders and sangria. The food was amazing! As we were leaving we had a great chat with Bill and he told us about his 15 year history of owning the restaurant. I moved to San Rafael 4 years ago and this was honestly my best culinary experience. We will be back!“

“Good bagels and selection. Bagels are on the small side which I like. And the price is right, which is a breath of fresh air these days. My only complaint is the staff. The last couple of times I’ve been there (in a period of a few months), they hardly say a word to you, seem completely disinterested in the customer and annoyed if you ask if they have something that they don’t.“
“Brain explosion good. I'm not Greek, nor am I an aficionado, but this place was recommended to me by a Greek friend and I am absolutely blown away at how good everything I purchased from them was. “Organic bakery in the heart of San Rafael. I came upon this cozy cottage looking place when I got off the beaten path of 4th street.Worth finding!Coffee and hot and cold sandwiches available but the variety of baked goods was so creative … I went for the sweets… the banana Meyer lremon bread/cake is a standout. And I loved loved loved the whole wheat very muffin.Incredible flavors and healthy ingredients! Yay! . I no longer have to be sad that Arizmendi is gone from the San Rafael scene. What a gem…. They even have an upright piano and a children’s books and game corner.I’ll be back!?“
“My go-to coffee shop whenever I work from the office. I usually order a cappuccino, and sometimes I'll add an order of cold brew to drink the next day lol. The coffee is consistently good. Note: if you order your cold brew without ice, there's an extra charge of $1. Staff is friendly. I wish they'd bring back the punch cards :)“
“Everything we had was great! Shrimp spring rolls were fresh and flavorful, I liked how the shrimp were actually slightly seasoned and the sauce was definitely homemade, tasted great on its own with some white rice. Their yellow curry and pad Thai were great as well. Personally I feel as though the food scene in the bay had gone downhill in the past few years and it's been a long time since any Thai restaurant in the Bay Area blew me away, but this is definitely one of the better options in the area.“

“I recently stopped by Rustic Bakery for lunch and was blown away by the delicious flavors! The Ciracha Chicken Sandwich was a highlight - the chicken was tender and juicy, with a perfect balance of spicy and tangy from the Ciracha sauce. Paired with the refreshing Arnold Palmer drink, it made for a satisfying and filling meal. The bakery itself has a cozy and inviting atmosphere, with friendly staff and a wide variety of tasty treats on display. I was impressed by the quality of the ingredients and the care that went into crafting each sandwich. If you're in the area, Rustic Bakery is a must-visit for a delicious and satisfying meal. Five stars and I'll definitely be back!“
