“Music is WAY TOO LOUD early AM. I requested they lower the volume, couldn't notice any difference. My wife commented it's unlikely any patron would ask to increase the volume. So true.
Just trying to have a conversation while enjoying the excellent food. Hard to do over loud, pounding, wailing indecipherable 'singing'.“

“Nice cafe with a good selection of drinks and food right off the main thoroughfare. Upon walk in you are able to see a menu showcasing all of their drinks and food. They have acai bowls, a huge assortment of pastries, crepes, etc. everything has Brazilian flair which was cool. We ordered acai bowls which are big for their size and jam packed full of fresh fruit. Honestly, one of the best acai bowls I’ve had, presentation wise and taste wise. The coffees were also good, but nothing spectacular. The light pastry we ordered was very good and fluffy. You can see the assortment of pastries as you go through the check out, as it’s a bit like a school lunch line. I highly recommend if you’re looking for a trendy but quiet spot to have a good meal and a cup of coffee.“

“We had a wonderful experience! We tried the Argentinian chimichurri wrap with tofu and the protein bowl with tikka masala sauce, beans, and avocado. Everything was flavorful, fresh, healthy, and served in generous portions.The owner was also very welcoming and friendly, and gave us great food recommendations, which made our experience even better. “Fabulous donuts and wonderful service! Be sure to try the cronuts as they are the best in SF! They even have a donut the size of a large Frisbee! Unofficially, I am calling it the BHD for big honkin' donut! The shop is on Polk Street, which is chock full of eateries. So, grab a meal and then head to Bob's for dessert - you'll be glad you did!“

“Situated on Ark Row, Servino Trattoria is run by Natale Servino, who I would venture to call a proper, old-school restaurateur. He clearly runs a tight ship, but the restaurant still has plenty of soul and personality, which I think is a difficult balance to get right. There’s structure, but it doesn’t feel sterile. The care is there.

Servino gives you a few different ways to experience the place. You can sit outside and keep things casual, grab a seat in the Enoteca bar, or eat in the main dining room, which is very nice and gives you a view into a seriously impressive kitchen.

The quality of the ingredients is obvious. They source local California and San Francisco-caught fish, high-quality meats and produce, and some of the best olive oil I’ve ever had. I’m still trying to figure out exactly what olive oil they use because I genuinely cannot seem to find anything quite like it.

Jennifer was our waitress and an absolute sweetheart. A Bay Area local who gave us great recommendations for both food and drinks and made the whole evening better. The service had that perfect blend of professionalism and freedom that, in my opinion, gives a restaurant soul. You’re taken care of, but nobody is hovering over you.

It’s been a little while since this particular dinner, but I still remember most of it. We started with the Santa Cruz-caught bluefin tuna carpaccio 🫰🏼 and the Crostini con Cucuzza with stracciatella and summer squash, which was absolutely delicious. The crostini in particular was out of this world for being relatively simple.

I had a vermouth cocktail that was excellent as well. When I go back, I’ll try something else.

The standout for me was the house-made squid-ink pasta with uni. They absolutely loaded it with uni, which Natale graciously explained how they’re able to do. There’s a running joke among my friends about being a “uni pasta hog” because most uni pasta gives you like four beautiful pieces of uni and suddenly sharing becomes a moral dilemma.

Not here.

Natale explained that they’re able to source some of the less visually perfect pieces rather than paying a premium exclusively for pristine whole uni tongues. Same ingredient, same flavor, much better economics, and they can actually load the pasta with it. I loved that. It made it possible to share without feeling like you’re either skimping or hogging all the best bites.

We finished with a seasonal fruit crostata, which was also delicious.

Servino felt like a restaurant run by people who genuinely care about the ingredients, the kitchen and the experience. It’s polished without losing its personality. Natale runs a tight ship, Jennifer made us feel at home, the kitchen clearly knows what it’s doing, and the ingredients speak for themselves.

There’s soul in the place. That’s what I appreciate most. I attached the few photos I took. The food was too good to spend my time taking photos.“

“This place made the tastiest veggie curry dish - I asked for the Channa Masala extra spicy and they did such a great job! Their garlic naan is very good too. I am not an expert or Indian food aficionado. However, I love the taste of their food and the girl I spoke with over the phone was very sweet!“

“First timers here, but it won't be my last. Absolutely one of the freshest and most tasteful sushi restaurants I have been to in a long time. “100000000/10!! Everything was impeccable, an all around incredible experience. As a cafe owner myself truthfully I judge harshly but i left Cavalli feeling like I really need to step it up. The customer service was absolutely incredible, the pastries unlike anything I’ve tasted before ( I serve tiramisu myself and honestly there’s was just on a whole other level!!) and the coffee…. My god!! I had the pistachio latte and to me this is the biggest test, you either do it perfectly with authentic pistachio or it’s horrible and this was clearly the real deal. The pistachio latte was so good I went back to grab the nos nos coffee because it looked so interesting, the owner described it as an upside cappuccino so I couldn’t resist. It did not disappoint!!!! This place is a must try, you won’t regret it!“

“This guy is an Italian genius when it comes to food! The combinations of flavors he comes up with would rival any great Italian chef. I met him while selling at a local farmers market a while ago-during or right after the pandemic. Restaurants were closed and he needed a way to support himself and to carry on his love of cooking and, thankfully, he came up with this business plan. So, we decided to try it, and we are glad we did. Our meals were cooked fresh to order and they were delicious! “We came across this adorable little ice cream truck, selling ice cream, cookies, and brownies. This place has a fun menu, where you can build your own custom ice cream sandwich, or order the ingredients (ice cream, cookies, and brownies seperatly). We ordered the combo, where we got a choice of a cookie, ice cream and a brownie on the bottom. We got fudge as a topping, the cookie monster cookie, toasted s'mores ice cream, and the brownie on the bottom (no special brownie flavors). The cookies are soft and tasty, and we actually bought some cookies later, simply because of how good they tasted. The ice cream tasted really good too, sweet and smores-like. The brownie was a little bit hard, but the ice crean melted and softened the brownie, and allowed for a more chewy bite, but at first it was definitely a little hard to chew into. The service was friendly and efficient. Outside the ice cream truck, there is some outdoor seating where you can eat while you have a view of the pier. I highly suggest getting some cookies and/or ice cream here, especially the cookies n cream cookie, and cookie monster cookie. Good place to get some ice cream and cookies at the pier! (And make your own ice cream sandwich!)“

“I love Saigon Village and have been coming with my vegan family for years. They have so many options with fake meats, and vegetable broth for pho. The owners are very sweet and can make modifications for almost everything on the menu. “After moving to San Anselmo in 1996, I finally visited M.H. Bread and Butter, drawn in by the crowds. Ms. Jenny, the manager, suggested trying the lemon bread, Queen Aman, raspberry croissants, and 'medium country' bread. Brahim, the owner's brother, highlighted the positives of working there. The area's connections to the Grateful Dead, Metallica, and Huey Lewis and the News and was at one time Bonnie Raite an Santana's residence make it even more special.“

“The food is phenomenal. Everything, from the sauce, the salad, the rice, the chicken, the beef, the burger, was phenomenal. Even though the prices are not cheap, they deserve it. If the tomatoes and salad taste good, that means everything's good, and they care about everything.

“The cappuccino was absolutely delicious. It had very good quality coffee flavor in the housemaid vanilla made it even better. The blueberry pancakes for really tough and chewy. I would never get the pancakes again. They tasted just as bad as airport pancakes. The blueberry compote was good but the pancakes weren't. They also weren't served with butter. Overall very good cafe.“
