“I read all the wonderful reviews on the actual website, and a friend and I decided to meet there for dinner last night (3/5/25) I was excited about trying out a new spot. The ambience was nice the restaurant was lively and surprisingly busy for a Wednesday night. Our food arrived in a timely manner however, our Server never return to ask if there was anything else needed. Although the crab chowder bowl was tasty, I would have like a little pepper and perhaps some Tabasco to further bring out the flavors. Unfortunately I couldn't get the Servers attention. The garlic noodles were definitely garlicky which wasn't the problem. There was way to much butter/olive oil with no other type of seasoning leaving them bland. The real issue was how the Server popped up and started reaching around the table to remove things as if we were being rushed out. She came back with dessert tray of which we declined then proceed to bring check and clear what she could away. A large group sitting nearby was rushed out after another large group was escorted to their table. Most started trying to finish their wine and gather their things which was obviously awkward for the group that appeared who had to turn around and give them room to leave. Our Server offered to-go containers and appeared impatient that we weren't leaving. Our entire dinner from beginning to end was 50 mins( with my friend trying to eat a whole crab which takes time) and we felt very rushed. Overall our experience was just "ok" therefore I wouldn't rush back anytime soon. We did however appreciate the 1 hour parking validation.“

During our visit, owner Frankie Gaetano Balistreri greeted us warmly. Frankie and his wife run the restaurant, creating a friendly atmosphere that makes guests feel like family.

Our meal started with flavorful clam chowder, followed by a perfect beet salad. I had the Seafood Risotto with fresh seafood in tomato sauce, while my significant other enjoyed tender grilled halibut. Both dishes showcased the kitchen's skill.

We ended with a light tiramisu. Portofino excels among North Beach's Italian restaurants, especially for seafood lovers. Dishes like roasted sardines, sole almandine, and cioppino—a tangy tomato broth stew with shrimp, scallops, mussels, and squid—are standout options.

“Yesterday, my sister and I had the BEST table at the Iconic Spinnaker Seafood Restaurant in Sausalito - the at table at the far corner facing San Francisco! WOW - What a beautiful and clear day, with just a 'hint' of fog over the Golden Gate Bridge to the ocean side. The food was Fabulous - mine was a 'classic' "Crab Louie," with lots and lots of wonderful crab, and Tiramisu for dessert! Our servers were Alex and Francisco ("Francisco:))" who attended to our every need - even politely and notably giving extra time, as I was Determined to enjoy EVERY bite of my more than delicious, Crab Louie!! With a menu that is FULL of Classic Bay Area Seafood offerings, an Iconic setting and ambiance, and Incredible view of San Francisco Bay, Golden Gate Bridge and The City, I would change nothing about my visit! The server presented the check but wasn't clearing the table even when we asked so we could finish our drinks. Just wanted his money and completely ignored us. Although the food was good I'll never go back because the servers were so terrible.“

When it came to payment we were a bit surprised. At first the tip for everyone totaled about 17 dollars. “BEST LOBSTER ROLL I have ever had in my life!!!! They use a grilled Hawaiian Roll for the bun and the lobster was grilled and buttered. Coleslaw was thin sliced with Cilantro which was unique and yummy! We also ordered the Calamari which was fresh and yummy. Great selection of other fresh sea food. Sushi options as well.

They had outdoor seating, but there are no heaters.“

We use to live in San Rafael for many years.
The beautiful California, ocean and mountains. Breathe taking views. Every Saturday we went for dinner. We love crabs. In February/2022 we visited San Francisco and were very sad and disappointed. Fishermas Wharf itself was just horrible. filth Dirty , smelly and loads of homeless, but the views of the bay are lovely....and you can see Alcatraz Island from the wharf.“

“Blue Mermaid was a revelation. We came on Mother's Day 2025 as our friend was staying at the Argonaut hotel. Brian, our server, was so nice and attentive. He was also very friendly and on point. The food portions were very good. The New England Clam Chowder was just the way i like it with not too many potatoes. The popcorn shrimp, calamari, salad with crab louie and tuna crudo were all generous for small plates. Three of us barely finished all the food. We will come back when we're in the area. I rate it five stars.“

“We just ordered a couple snacks and wine for a little kid outing but I really appreciated the service and the food we ordered was great (also didn't make us feel bad at all for just ordering some snacks)! The view from the large windows of the water was perfect for watching all the activity below, I loved the big yellow booths, coloring page, and comfy seating....it was a great experience and again, from start to finish they were EXCELLENT with being friendly and helpful! They even brought us some extra fries because they said "it took a little long"--- which was absolutely no wait to us (only 5 min or so) but I just was really impressed with their thoughtfulness and attentiveness.
