“Pleasantly surprised to have this experience of flavor, ambiance and service. We normally go to Nico’s or Marlena because of its consistency of flavor and location to home. Viaje is the equivalent and then some. The chef is from Mexico City and is the real deal. The food, starting off with the ceviche 9/10, ribeye appetizer 10/10, branzino 10/10 and then the dessert of the tres leches 10/10. Ok, so you don’t quite believe me, well, try 11/10 for the consume broth for the lamb appetizer!! David was our server recommended we just try the broth since we were so full. We were dipping tortilla chips into the broth like little kids it was so good!! It didn’t matter how full be were!

Food all came out timely and together nice and hot. It’s rare to have everything taste that good from start to finish. Price may be an obstacle for most, but doesn’t break the bank like a Michelin Star place. Viaje is one of those restaurants that need to stay on 2nd St…it is the very best on that strip if not all of Long Beach.“

“Service was good food was good. Small place but great will go back. They had a large party and looks like they just started so they offer to give free fruit drinks because the large party was taking their present. Portion was not small but not to little. Come and enjoy.“

“This place is SO good! I got the breakfast burrito and added cheese and avocado. Omg it was so big I had it for two meals. It was just as amazing for the second meal. Everyone that worked there was so nice, it had such a great family feel. A few customers came in while I was eating outside, and it was clear they were regulars - as i would be if I lived closer! Also, I dont eat meat and there were plenty of options!

There aren't any tables inside but there are a few outside with umbrellas if needed.“

“Fantastic hidden gem! Located in north long beach, this authentic Mexican restaurant is absolutely delicious. They have plenty of nostalgic dishes that you may remember a loved cooking for you. They have soups, tacos, and special dishes such as costillitas con nopales. I was left very much happily satisfied. Parking is a nightmare, they have a small lot. It is a mom and pop shop, so please keep that in mind when you arrive. Seating is extremely limited, but they have a couple chairs out front to ensure you're taken care of. Please tip if you can as I'm positive a place like this is not common anymore these days. The ladies who serve and take orders have the most cute uniforms and friendliest of service. Anything upon request!!! Please ask before you do. They have a specific seating order and will be happy to accommodate when you ask! Oh they do serve alcohol, beers and margaritas 😬“

I went with the ceviche tradicional de camaron, taco perrones de camaron tijuanense, colorin colorado, y cucumber jalapeño margarita. Everything was delicious. The portions were very large. I ended up taking the tacos home and still couldn't finish dessert.“

“Always excellent food, margaritas, and prices. I am still sad they got rid of the “Mexican pizza” from the kids menu last year, it was one of the only things my son with autism would consistently eat while dining out. But they still have great dishes overall- shrimp tacos are the best!“

“Leo’s is always a hit! We ordered the tripe quesadilla, al pastor gordita, and 3 tacos (Al pastor, asada, and lengua). The gordita was hugeee! We love the quesadilla here paired with the crispy tripe. Their meats are all super flavorful! My favorites were the Al pastor and lengua. All their salsas are delicious as well, and the orange salsa is pretty spicy!“

“Great brisket tacos! Very good fish tacos! Good service. We 2 split the surf & turf plate for about $12. It included 2 fish tacos, 2 brisket tacos, rice, beans and several chips. Everything was good or better. We loved the brisket. Recommended.“

“The birria seems to be the popular choice. They are known for guisada-style (slow cooked) meats. I got 2 green enchiladas and pretty much cleaned the plate - delicious! The rice is very good and as well as the tortillas. There is seating but it's limited. It's more of a to go place than dine in for larger parties.“

“As far as authentic Mexican food goes, you won’t find better. Some of the items we really love are, any of their soups, carnitas, birria tacos are some of the best I have ever had. For breakfast the chilaquiles or this yummy deep fried crusted French toast. Don’t forget to try an aqua Fresca they are made fresh daily. They also do a great job at catering. Their taco bar set up is fancy enough to have it at wedding.“

“Ordered their awesome breakfast burritos. Such a great deal for $7.50. Each burrito is at least half a foot and filled with goodness.

Six variations of burritos here:
- Ham
- Bacon
- Beef Machaca
- Egg and Cheese
- Chorizo
- Sausage

I called ahead the night before to make sure my order would be available the next morning so I could just pick up and pay on my way to work. Completely honor based and I was good for word. LEO's delivered on the product.

I was told to pay cash or via Zelle. I didn't realize they did not take credit cards. Oops. I came up short for 24 burritos. I made my way to F&M on 3rd Street to use their ATM. No big deal. There's also a corner store on the next block south that has an ATM machine but I didn't want to incur those pesky fees.

Paid and then had to hit up the salsa bar and package my own little containers. It's cool if you have a couple of burritos but with an order for the size of my small department, it took way too long to package. I packaged an entire plastic bag of salsa, onion, jalapeños, and pickled carrots.

Easy to order but picking up did not go as smoothly as I hoped due to the payment SNAFU.

Office raved about the burritos. So hearty and delicious.

TIP: If getting a large order of breakfast burritos, call ahead and pick up all your commendable condiments from the grocery store.“

I was not feeling great and wanted a soup or caldo and found them on google at the time I came they didn’t have caldo de res but she suggested albóndiga soup 🍲 and it was delicious.
