“We recently hosted an event at Shubham Halls, and overall, it was a great experience. The location is convenient with plenty of parking, and the hall itself is spacious, clean, and well-maintained! From the initial phone call with Arun to finalizing the menu with Manoj everything was organized really well which makes the planning and execution part of any event easier.
The staff was courteous and supportive during setup and teardown. They were flexible with our decor and seating arrangements, which helped a lot. The audio-visual equipment worked well, and the lighting created a warm, inviting atmosphere. They have pre-approved vendors for decor, cakes and other things which makes this truly a one stop shop for all your event needs!
Overall, I’d definitely recommend Shubham Halls for anyone looking for a clean, affordable venue in the heart of Sunnyvale.“

“This food truck is a hidden gem! The Volcano Biryani is a fiery masterpiece, with layers of flavors and a spicy kick. The fried rice and omelet base provide a comforting contrast. We also enjoyed the Peri Peri sandwich and the refreshing guava drink. The food truck itself has a cozy seating area and board games, making it a great spot to relax and enjoy a delicious meal."“

“We tried the prawn kebab, Schezwan fried rice, and surmai thali. The prawn kebab and fried rice were delicious, offering rich flavors that we thoroughly enjoyed. However, the surmai thali did not meet our expectations; the fish lacked freshness and had an unpleasant odor, and the accompanying curries were not good in taste. We also found the menu prices slightly higher than anticipated for the portion sizes.
The dining area was quite noisy, likely due to its compact size. On a positive note, the staff were attentive and efficient, ensuring we didn’t have to wait long for our meals. If you’re interested in exploring fish-based dishes, this restaurant could be worth considering.“

“Exceptional place!
It’s very hard to come by such well-run places these days. The food is absolutely fantastic as well as reasonably priced. They cater to all taste buds and even modify it if you ask.
Paul and other staff members know the definition of hospitality and put it into practice!
Also, unlike other Indian places, they use Olive Oil for their cooking which doesn’t make you uneasy after a big meal. For this very reason, most days, our post workout meal is at Maya’s Kitchen ????“

“Pav Bhaji & More is a good food truck overall.
Pav Bhaji: The Pav Bhaji is absolutely outstanding—rich, flavorful, and packed with authentic spices that hit all the right notes. It’s easily one of the best I’ve had and an absolute delight for anyone craving real street-style flavors.
Portion Size and Value: The portion size is shockingly small, especially given the pricing. It’s hard to overlook how inadequate the quantity is, which really impacts the overall value for money.
Service: The service is average. While the staff are polite, there’s room for improvement in terms of efficiency and attentiveness.
Ambience: For a food truck, the ambience is impressive. The seating area is clean, well-maintained, and provides a comfortable spot to enjoy your meal outdoors.
Overall, the Pav Bhaji is exceptional, but the portion size leaves much to be desired.
Vegetarian options: Tasty vegetarian food and options“

“Great food and even better service. Pawan single handedly maintains the entire front of the store and does a phenomenal job. This place is far from my house so I visit rarely. 3 months between my previous visit and today's visit and he remembers exactly what I would order. Greets me, guesses my order before I say it, and gets it. Great job. And the food is excellent too- very flavorful and well prepared.“

“Really enjoyed the Uttapam, Idli, and Vada — all fresh and flavorful. The sambar was delicious too. The coconut chutney had a great texture and taste, but it was a bit too spicy due to the amount of green chilies. Would love it even more if it were slightly milder to balance the overall meal. Looking forward to coming back!“

“Great ambience and vibe on a Saturday evening! We went for a birthday dinner and it lived upto our expectations. The food was different and really good. We ordered a vegetarian meal and you will want to try the taro root chaat, bellwether kebabs and plantain kebabs served with thecha. What topped for us was the flaxseed poee! A fermented bread with burani raita, eggplant choka and avocado dip! Main course we ordered cabbage curry which was average and more vegetarian main course can be added! A must go !“

“This is the only Indian restaurant to my knowledge in the Bay area that has a dinner buffet(only during the weekends). At $25 per plate, I think it’s very reasonable for Bay area pricing. If I really had to nitpick, I would say they tend to overuse the curry leaf in every entree dish to the point it overwhelms you and ruins the flavors from the other spices. Their goat curry is particularly a culprit where it feels more like a curry lead stew and absolutely no flavor from the goat meat itself.
Also, I will not recommend their “paan” beetle leaf (seperate from the buffet) where they put in excess of coconut shavings and absolutely destroys the subtle flavor of the beetle leaf.
Else, I really have not much against this place. It has been my go to comfort food destination for over a year now“

“We went here as the restaurant we wanted to go had a long wait and were quite surprised. The food is simple and comforting. They said they were in the process of changing the menu so they dint have some of the items shown on the menu, hope that changes soon.
Veg Pakora was just like home made, samosa chat and ghee idli were very tasty too.“

“Chaat House has the cutest homely interior with old school TVs playing old Bollywood movies. You have a view of the cooks working hard in the kitchen and there is a very casual vibe. The cashiers and workers are really kind m, but they do not go above and beyond in any way. I usually get takeout of the rotis and a mango lassi. The prices for the rotis are quite cheap which I appreciate. $6.50 for 10 rotis. Talk about a deal! The rotis are soft and authentic, and this is quite visible when you first look at the roti. The rotis are of decent size and they remain fresh in their aluminum foil. For a delicious dessert I usually get a mango lassi as well. The mango lassi is a bit more expensive at $4 per drink. The mango lassi comes cold and tastes tart and fresh! OVERALL, the food for the price is very fresh and tasty, so I definitely recommend this joint to others as a causal place to dine. I will definitely be coming again when I get cravings for some refreshing mango lassi and soft roti!
Vegetarian options: All vegetarian options and many vegan options“

“New Tandoori Cafe is an excellent restaurant with spicy food and delicious meals.
We ordered fries and non-spicy aloo paratha. When we received the order, my kids tasted the paratha and they said it was very spicy, which we had specifically asked not for. My kids can tolerate a good amount of spice, so this was clearly spicier than asked for.
Other than that, we ordered multiple meals from New Tandoori Cafe and they were all great.
I would recommend this restaurant to people who enjoy spicy foods.“

“PSA they have dessert dosas now. For the adventurous eater, I’m sure.
Been coming here for a few years, since they opened.
Consistently excellent dosas. Probably the only dosa place I drag people to from out of town.
This used to be a Mexican restaurant so a lot of the lively colors have been kept.
Pretty inexpensive and a great place to go to after a busy Costco shopping session next door.
Gets busy on the weekends. Come around 5pm on a weekday to get quick service and the freshest of the day.
The staff are incredibly polite and professional. Packaging is great.

“During my recent visit to Ananda Bhavan, I ordered their uttappam and rava dosa. The uttappam was soft and generously topped with onions and chilies, offering a pleasant taste. The rava dosa was crisp with a subtle flavor, accompanied by sambar and chutneys that complemented the dish well.
While both items were enjoyable, they didn't quite capture the authentic flavors found in India. The dishes lacked the depth and richness characteristic of traditional South Indian cuisine. However, considering the challenges of sourcing authentic ingredients abroad, this is understandable.
The restaurant offers a wide variety of dosas and other South Indian specialties, making it a popular choice among locals. The ambiance is casual, and the service is efficient. Prices are slightly higher compared to other South Indian eateries in the area, but the quality is decent.“
“The best puris in the Bay Area. This place has hands down the best puris to use for pani puri and are difference between average and great pani puri. They also have a small variety of other equally delicious fried snacks. The puris sell out pretty fast so make sure you get there early.
They only accept cash/Venmo(extra 5%).“

“Unassuming little hole in the wall that can barely seat 8 but serves incredible food. I got the pesarattu upma and was delighted by the texture and the flavors. The upma was just right and the sambar and chutney were on point.
The poori was a bit on the dry side but the chole more than made up for it.
Unfortunately chai is still served with no sugar, but it made for a good ending. This will be on my favorites list!“

“An absolute gem for anyone craving authentic and flavorful South Asian cuisine. The food is consistently delicious, and the atmosphere has a cozy, welcoming feel that makes you want to keep coming back.
Their Chapli Kabab is a standout—juicy, perfectly spiced, and cooked to perfection. Paired with their soft, fluffy plain naan, it’s a combo that hits the spot every time. You can tell they put real care into their recipes.
The service is friendly and efficient, even during busy hours. It gets packed, especially around lunch, but the food is always worth the wait.
Highly recommended for a casual meal that doesn’t compromise on taste.“

“I have known the owners since they started providing food from their home before opening the restaurant in 1995. The food quality has been consistent over the past 30+ years, & they have survived the economic ups and downs. Their goal is simple; to provide home style taste at an affordable price. There are barely 3 tables so it's very basic. But if you crave pure veg, fresh food that tastes like home, certainly recommend it. The owner Manoj Bhai and his wife Bhavika Ben are still working there to ensure we walk out with a satisfaction of a tasty and sumptuous meal. Cheers to this family for their consistency, humility and focus on customer service. It's hard to find these virtues at anaffordable price these days.“
