Even though I reviewed Roja in September of 2024, I felt compelled to share my thoughts again because this restaurant is consistently improving and upgrading in every aspect. They truly seem dedicated to providing the best for their customers, and I can't help but appreciate their efforts!

On of the aspects I truly love about Roja is their commitment to seasonal menu changes. It keeps the dining experience fresh and exciting! Beef Wellington is on the menu now and I must say it was the highlight of my dining experience! It was cooked to perfection; the tenderloin within was a gorgeous, rosy pink medium -rare and incredibly tender. The outer layer was a triumph of texture: a crisp golden brown, and wonderfully flaky puff pastry crust. The balance of flavors and expert preparation were simply outstanding. It seemed like everyone around me was ordering it, which speaks volumes about its popularity! Immediately after I ordered, our waiter came over and expertly suggested wonderful wine pairings, and it's amazing how much the restaurant's wine list has grown since it opened in 2024.

I highly recommend this restaurant; it's an amazing all-around dining experience thanks to the excellent food, great wine selection, pleasant ambiance, and top-notch service. I also highly recommend making reservations as the tables fill up quickly!

(Review from Sept. 2024) Roja is an absolute delight! From the moment you step inside, the ambience wraps you in a warm, welcoming embrace. The decor is beautifully curated, creating a serene and inviting atmosphere that makes you feel right at home.

The food is truly fresh and outstanding, thanks to the incredible talent of co-owner and Chef Roberto Juarez. His culinary skills shine through in every dish, bursting with flavor and showcasing the quality of the ingredients. Whether you're indulging in his signature creations or trying something new, you won't be disappointed.

Adding to the experience, his partner and co-owner James Ashe, who is in charge of the bar, wine and cocktails, crafts some of the most exquisite drinks I've ever tasted. Each cocktail is a masterpiece, perfectly complementing the meal and enhancing the overall dining experience.

“I truly appreciate the authenticity of Chinese cuisine, and the exceptional culinary skills showcased. The special tea duck, in particular, captivates my taste buds with its exquisite flavor. Each bite is a delightful experience, making it a standout dish for me.“

“Pompeii is a wonderful family-owned gem in Los Altos. The service is always friendly and attentive, and the food absolutely delicious. The chicken parmesan, lasagna, and linguine are some of our favs, paired with their fresh homemade bread. You can really taste the care that goes into everything!“

“If you want ti experience authentic home-style Korean food, this is the place to go. There are other Korean places that are fancy, trendy, and loud, Su-Dam feels like going to my aunt's place, for a warm home cooked meal. I recommend Seafood pancake, soon-tofu, pork bbq, and yookgaejang. Check it out!“

“Arguably the best Cajun seafood in the Bay Area. We’re practically regulars here, we come about every two weeks. The headless shrimp, mussels, and king crab are all fantastic. The service is great too, very attentive, and parking is super easy. You can even grab dessert next door afterward with no problem.

If I had to point out one downside, it’s that the front door is ridiculously heavy and hard to push open.“

“Our take-out fish and chips were disappointing. Chips were undercooked and not crisp. The fish under the brown hard crust was OK but the whole presentation was unlike any light crispy dish our family has ever had as fish and chips. Not a repeat meal for us.“

“Note: I'm not sure why the hours show as closed, but I drove by on a Sunday and it was open.

Parking:
Ample parking, they have their own lot.

Atmosphere:
Very casual and chill. They have some tables and seats inside. The owner is a really nice lady and she let me bring my dog inside so that I didn't have to leave him in the car while waiting for my takeout order.

Food:
I ordered the set that comes with 1 fish, 2 shrimps, 2 oysters, and 2 scallops. I also ordered a side the fried zucchinis. Everything tasted great! The fries are a bit soggy, but I feel this is how they are at any fish and chips restaurant. The order also comes with all the condiments (ranch I think for the zucchinis, tartar sauce, lemon slices, salt packet, malt vinegar, shrimp cocktail sauce, and ketchup.

The serving size is also a lot. This alone was enough to feed at least 2 people (possibly more for small appetites).

Definitely will be going again.“

“We came on Thursday for the half off on wine and they were out of the first three choices we made, so that was disappointing. The wait person was excellent though and did her best to please us. We shared an entrée and a salad which we enjoyed!“

“We stopped by Ray's Crab Shack last Friday for a casual family dinner. The place isn't fancy, but it's clean, well-lit, and surprisingly kid-friendly for a seafood spot. The portions are generous - easily enough to share.

Everything came out hot, seasoned well, and not overly salty, which I appreciate. Prices are fair for what you get, and parking's easy even on a weekend.

Not somewhere we'd go every week, but for a relaxed, messy, seafood-with-the-family kind of night, it's a solid choice. We'll be back when the craving hits.“

“Just had a dish of soybean seedling and it was surprisingly good! They had a perfect little crunch on the outside but stayed tender inside. The seasoning was spot-on—a nice savory, garlicky flavor with a hint of spice. It's a great simple side dish, super healthy-tasting, and feels light even when ate lots meats.“

I'm a Pacific Catch rewards member, and I received a message stating that you could have a free shareable if you let your server know. We decided to have the Coconut Shrimp for the shareable, which was very good! We also enjoyed eating the Japanese Wasabi Original Ahi Poke bowl.

Seabass Skewers, Baja Shrimp Ceviche, Guaca-Poke, Grilled Asparagus, Sushi Rolls, Miso Black Cod, Lobster Roll, Taco Plater, Fish and Chips, Kanpachi, Chocolate Lava cake, Pineapple Right Side Up cake, Hula Brownie Sundae.“

“It was a great dinner. We took another couple out for my birthday. The friends mentioned that it was my birthday and the waiter said that merited a free bowl. I was going to order the ahi tuna bowl anyway, so my bountiful and delicious bowl was free. I also had points because I am a rewards member. We had a free appetizer of calamari. And I was given a free birthday dessert. I wasn't counting on any of that, but the gifts were very much appreciated and makes me even more eager to keep coming back to Pacific Catch in Mountain View. “Kinda my favorite place til recently. Waiter F’d blamed me. 4 dined, we gave our order. 1 person changed their order, so 3 meals ended up being the same, then there was mine. They ended changing my order instead of the other person, he argued with me until he realized he messed up, never said sorry, and then still got my order wrong by cook my salmon well instead of veggies, which they forgot to add, but I paid anyways, to go.“

“Pan roast is a solid 10 at Dive Osyter Bar! We were just so happy that we found this cause we don’t have to go to Vegas just to fall in line for 2 hrs at the Palace Station Oyster Bar. Their pan roast is a MATCH! I have to admit it surprised me and my family. The fries and fried oyster are surprisingly so good as well because in restaurants, this side foods are often oily, soggy, not really well seasoned, but at Dive Oyster Bar it was perfectly fried, hella tasty and just a firework on every bite. “Went on Thanksgiving Day , we ordered cocktails Aged Tropic Old Fashioned and Whistlepig Barrel Aged Smoked Old Fashioned. Both drinks were amazing but the Whistlepig Old Fashioned is the best. Tried the Chipotle Steak Bits and Crab Croquettes very tasty. The set Thanksgiving menu was fabulous. (Key lime pie❤️)So far the best as for Going out on Thanksgiving. “Walked in not expecting much but was greeted lovingly by a sweet family running shop by themselves. They seemed delighted that we were eating In and the small homey setting really felt like they inviting us to sit at their table. The spam masubi was incredible, served fresh, with a sweet sauce, and a little touch of pork sung in there made all the difference. I got the wagyu beef with egg meal. It also came with that signature sauce and the meat was perfectly seasoned and tender. As we left, packing up the leftovers off the heaping plates of food, the father ran out to give us some extra sauce and make sure we didn’t leave without knowing how much we were appreciated. The incredible food and the family’s hospitality truly made it feel like I was eating a home cooked meal with my grandparents and I would love to come back and support them more!“

“Portions are huge, flavourful and the platters have a good variety of seafood, veggies and meat for everyone to share. Their pisco sour flight is also such a great deal and so delicious. I’ll be bringing my family and friends here next time they’re in town, a must try in the Sunnyvale area for sure!“
