“Good service and tasty food. My fave is the Eggplant and Tofu entree. (Supposedly, this is the only location on the Westside that offers this menu item.)Plenty of free parking. Many other stores and eateries, post office, bank ATMs.
Vegetarian options: Great eggplant and Tofu entree.
Parking: Easily over a hundred parking spots in this sprawling lot. This is a big neighborhood shopping area.“

“Had a great meal! Forwent ordering potstickers in order to try the enticingly named Gang of 4 ×4 - a delicious decision! The Mao's Hometown was just-right spicy, and I'm sure they put more than $2 extra shrimp on my order. Service friendly and prompt, loved the art. I felt as though I had wandered back into college in the early '70s.“

“Incredible experience - The staff were so accommodating and the food was genuinely the best Chinese I've ever had.
I had the soup dumplings which were so good I ordered seconds, followed by the pork belly bun which was recommended to me and I couldn't have been more happy!
I'm annoyed I only came across this place on the last day of my trip in LA or I would've come multiple times
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!“

“Really amazing and very good food. I was a table of one and was able to sit down within 15 minutes compared to usual hour long wait.
I got the HK style french toast, very sweet and more of a dessert but it was amazing nonetheless. Second item i got was the cold sesame noodle (no chicken) and i’ve never had this amazing dish before and it was life changingly good.
Funny story but they threw away my food while i was in the bathroom for two minutes but they apologized and gave me a free meal to go and pastry. I didn’t care that much but happy they fixed an error!
Will come back again def“

“Fantastic food at an extremely reasonable price. You can easily get full for 20$. We had a huge spread of dumplings, our favorite was the spicy pork dunpling and the pork and leek pancakes. Everything was delicious and seemed hand made. Service is very casual. This is a great spot to share food with people you care about you will get great shareable food and service that is attentive without being interrupting.“

“I don't think you'd find a better value for food that's freshly cooked and potentially quite healthy. The Mongolian barbecue is only $5.99 a pound and I can't even buy food for that.
Meet right in front of you and available with plenty of fresh ingredients.
Not a fancy place but a good place to eat.
Highly recommended!“

“Great lunch spot or to take to go. It’s a really good value for West LA especially. Love all the small dish options, feels like I could come here multiple times a week and not get tired of the food given the variety. I recommend the mapo tofu, king pao chicken, sweet tomato and egg, and eggplant. The mini buns are nice snack for the kids too. We make our own rice at home and pair with 5-6 of these sides. Feeds a family of 4 for about $25-30! Not a big space inside so gets a little cramped during busy hours.“

“We tried pepper beef (very tender, a little spicy), chicken in three cup sauce (very tender), oxtail soup, chicken noodle soup (some pieces of chicken were a little tough), chicken dumplings in chili oil (spicy), baby bok choy, green beans, and egg fried rice.
Everything was delicious! Will definitely order from here again.
Price range was $30-$50 per person.“

“If you want liang pi or if you haven’t tried it, I highly recommend this spot. Other noodles were just ok. I do want to mention that the portions are HUGE, so very good value. The bowl I got could be eaten for two meals. Food was out very fast. They also sell some bubble tea drinks there.“

“I was craving quick, cheap, and delicious Chinese food, and was super focused on getting a good value with massive portion sizes. I googled easy Chinese spots going down the 405 and came across Chinese Kitchen. Johan was 12/10 in customer service. They let me sample everything and every single dish was genuinely so flavorful and tasty. I couldn’t recommend going here enough.“

“A hidden gem: this small, un-flashy restaurant is in a weirdly-shaped traffic-island/mini-mall in the worst intersection in the world (Fairfax/Olympic/SanVicente), next to a Dunkin's and a liquor store. But the food is unreal: everything I've tried there is pitch-perfect, from the wide variety of dumplings to the salads, noodles, and fried foods. Our family includes two foodie adults, an increasingly adventurous 11-year-old, and a very unadventurous 4-year-old, and this is one of the few places that all four of us absolutely love. Particular favorites include the soup dumplings, potstickers, popcorn shrimp, chow mein, pork buns, and napa cabbage salad, but really everything is good. The noodles have that smoky wok hei flavor, the dumplings are perfectly balanced and textured, even the popcorn shrimp and chicken are expertly seasoned and fried. The space is basic but pleasant and calm. The owners are friendly and helpful, but in a subtle and quiet way, they're not going to hover over your table and make lots of small talk. They've been very patient with our younger kid, who can be kind of noisy. We love this place; it's much better than some of the flashier and more expensive places in the west 3rd st. area a few blocks north.“

“My first time visiting this hidden gem on West Adams. Their bold flavors and perfect execution ranging from cold apps, to dumplings and noodle dishes.
I tried their new Kung Pao Chicken, and wow--it's a must-order. The balance of spice, crunch, and just the right amount of sweetness made it one of the best versions I've had anywhere in LA.
Of course, the classics here never disappoint. The dumplings are tender, juicy, and packed with flavor; the spicy beef noodle soup has that rich, comforting broth with just the right kick; and their fried rice is so good you could happily eat it on its own or alongside everything else. They can also adjust spice levels.
Beyond the food, the vibe at Mian really adds to the experience. Whether you're coming for a casual dinner with friends or just craving some of the best Chinese food in town, Mian delivers every time.
Highly recommend checking it out--you'll definitely want to come back again and again. extra NOM“

“The fried rice and chow mein out on the warmer Is not that great. The portions are huge, so you and half dozen small children will be fed, but thats about it. Try the combo a shrimp and veggies with rice noodle with steam rice. If you want to knock yourself out, get the Kay Kay fried rice.“

“My wife and I really enjoyed the food. For the appetizer we ordered the egg rolls and steamed dumpling. The egg rolls was the best I have had in California. The dumplings were just ok. We also ordered some pork fried rice, sweet and sour chicken, and garlic shrimp. They give you large portions and it tasted amazing.“

“I was staying with friends nearby in Santa Monica and ended up walking to this spot almost every day I was in town. It was that good!!
What truly stood out was how warm and welcoming the staff was. The front lady was so sweet, she even called me Queen ❤️ and it made the whole experience feel personal and comforting.
We kept coming back for their lo mein which was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly made every single time. And I have to say… their sesame chicken? Easily some of the BEST I’ve ever had. Saucy, crispy, and unforgettable.
If you’re in the Santa Monica area, definitely stop by. I ended up there more times than I planned, which says everything.“
“I am Din Tai Fung’s biggest fan and the today went to the Santa Monica location located inside Santa Monica Place :) Stunning location and recommend sitting outside: the views are immaculate!! I got to try the new matcha jasmine latte which was a 10/10 for me. I appreciate the ceremonial grade matcha comes unsweetened and the jasmine milk tea is sweetened so it’s the perfect blend. Some of my personal favorites: shrimp fried rice, string beans, & crab xiao long bao, & cucumber salad :) Sam was our server today and he was an absolute gem!!’ So professional and nice!! I can tell this location has a great and strong management team. The way all the employees present themselves shows structure and genuineness. Can’t wait to be back again“

“My wife and I ate here on a whim, and it did not disappoint. We were on a time crunch so we decided to takeout. The three cup chicken and short rib dan mein were big hits in our house. Dumplings were also excellent. We look forward to dining at the restaurant again! Keep up the good work!
Parking: Parking is more than sufficient as it is shared with the shopping plaza.“

“Me and the the fam do laundry across the street so naturally the wife want her Starbucks. Always passed by this place and it just caught my eye. Don’t know why. I took a menu from the spot and kept it in the glove compartment for some time. One day I was coming down from some acid and was hungry like a mofo. Oh before I say anything more I must mention that when I saw the menu I saw they had shrimp fried rice and that is all it took to seal the deal. However, I am VERY SKETCH on my shrimp fried rice. I only get it from one spot and it’s been like that for around 13 years. Anywho. Coming down from that and I said “screw it! Let’s try it” got the shrimp fried rice and the lunch special of orange chicken. The sfr was dank! Wont compare it to the other but honestly I was impressed. My wife said the orange chicken was ok and that the chicken was hard. I tried it I loved the sauce and the fried rice…well I had just tried it so no difference. I told her that I kinda saw that coming from the chicken bc of the big menu that they have so that is the only negative but I will definitely mess with this place again! Oh the service was quick and straight to the point. The way it should be.“

“Can you get better Chinese food in LA for far cheaper. Absolutely, but you’d have to drive to SGV. For the Westside, this is about as good as it gets. The soup dumpling were thin skinned, flavorful and juicy, and everything else, from the Mapo tofu to the beef roll was very decent.“

“I came in for an early lunch and the food was so fresh and delicious. I noticed I was only charged $.35 for a credit card use so that’s a plus. A price of an orange chicken bowl with chow mein was under $10. It got me really full, so I’m really satisfied. If you’re craving Chinese American food, you won’t be let down here.“

“This Chinese restaurant exceeded all expectations! The service was exemplary—attentive but not overbearing, and the staff made sure we had everything we needed. The food was outstanding, especially the General Tso’s chicken, which was crispy on the outside and tender inside. The ambiance was equally impressive, with stunning Asian-inspired décor and cozy lighting that set the perfect mood for a meal. It’s the perfect spot for both a casual dinner or a special celebration!“

“I was searching for Chinese fast food and found this place. Conveniently located not far from the airport and the owner was friendly and attentive. I ordered the pork short rib (soy glazed), fried chicken wings (sweet and sour), and curry chicken (very flavorful). Since I got there 30 mins before closure, one third of the entrees were sold out but I’m still pleased with the what I got. I would recommend both curry chicken and chicken wings, the pork ribs are a little bit saltier to my preference.
Would consider coming back and try their rice or noodle next time!“
