“**Very good and very filling food**Order the pork (excellent ratio of fat and meat, maybe it's pork belly I'm not sure but it is quite delicious) with the black beans over some white rice. The chilis in this recipe taste like toasted peanuts. They recently added sautéed vegetables as a side so get half veggies and half white rice. However! I only have had the fried rice with the pork but I think white rice would be more savory with the black bean pork because the sauce packs so much flavor. Also- this restaurant is such a hangout spot because it's always clean, welcoming, quick service, cold drinks, fresh food, and t.v.s. You can eat, watch t.v., or read here because it's that calm. But if you're in a rush like during a working day this place is such a relaxing place to dine in too. And they also have soups, milk Thai teas with boba, lots of refreshments, a variety of dishes to try, and of course catering. And sometimes they will add more dishes like tofu with eggplant (very good)or something like green papaya salad (haven't tried yet). ALSO they have fried chicken that is good on its own with some Sriracha sauce or chili oil. My only request would be for China Wok to start selling jars of homemade chili oil or chili sauce (but they do sell boxes of face masks for $8). The way they cook the red chili reminds me of cooking chilis for mole or for salsa. So I really wish I had their homemade chili oil or chili sauce with white rice, sautéed vegetables, and black bean pork. Or just a plate of white rice, vegetables, and chili oil or chili sauce. I could eat here everyday and would be OK with that. Their food is fresh, balanced, and so so savory.“

“If you haven’t been here before the setup might be confusing. You should head all the way to the back, go to the cashier, tell him the number of people, get a table number from him, and then get a bowl and start putting stuff you want in the bowl. The bowl is weighed and charged by the pound, but you don’t pay until you’re done eating. Then you hand the bowls to the cashier to order what type of soup you want. They hand you order numbers and you go to your table and just wait for them to bring you food. You can also make sauces at the sauce station. When you’re finished, bring your bowls back to the front and pay.Also note that you get one tong for picking up all the foods, so if cross contamination is a concern or you have food allergies, this might not be the best place to go.The lady in the front was not helpful and just shouted Chinese at us and acted like we were in her way for not knowing the rules. Some of the customers tried to help us too, but they should really just post the rules outside the store or in front of the front door to help newcomers. I think if you look East Asian, they will assume you speak Mandarin, so you should mention that you don’t speak it to clear the air. If i was to return I just get noodles straight up, I feel like the other stuff just distracts from the main event. Bae couldn't eat hers because she comes from a place (new england) where people say stuff is too spicy because there is PEPPER in the dish. Like, the pepper you have at your house. I cooked a dish with pepper once and her mom wouldn't eat it for that reason.Also the service was good, they actually called us because they were out of something we ordered and wanted to make sure they gave us a refund or something else.Unless you are a monster two people can split one dish here, any dish. I love the chewiness of the noodles and the beef chunks always fall apart. The drinks are served in huuuge cups so that's also very worth the price.
