“Let me paint a picture for you right quick! You know those Chinese's foods places that have greasy noodles that your box is stuffed to the point you can't even close it and you end up hating yourself after you eat because you actually finished the whole plate.... That's what this place is but actually really good. Reminds me of my childhood This has become my go to spot for Chinese food.“
“The food is delicious! But tonight they got my food order wrong. I didn't notice until I got home. Quite frustrating cuz I was already in my PJs relaxing & I had to drive back to the restaurant. I called the restaurant but an answering service answers for them. They said I have 2 options. Submit a claim through Yelp or drive back to restaurant. I didn't want to drive all the way back over there if they weren't preparing my order. It was a bit of a hassle But they gave me a whole new order and a soda when I got there and let me keep the old order. Check your before you leave the restaurant!“
“If you are tired of most Chinese fusion fast food cooked in heavy thickener and corn syrup sauces, Hong Kong Chef is for you. I ordered the chicken chop suey. It was loaded with chicken and big vegetable chunks. It was more chicken than suey. It is cooked in a broth. No artificial thickeners are added. The orange chicken is not over fried and the syrup was not super sweet or sour. Actually, It has slightly acidic finish. Very flavorful. The Won-Ton soup broth is salted just right. I found the won-ton dumpling did not have sausage after taste ( I did not miss the sausage after taste). The noodles in the Lo-mein were a disappointment. They have a roasted oil fried taste. They don’t seem fresh, but it doesn’t have a bad after taste. The interior of the restaurant is utilitarian and typical of a Mom and Pop operation. I really like the Hong Kong Chef, but it will take a few more trips to see if I can come to love the place.“
“First time here at this restaurant. We came in for the lunch specials. We had the Orange Chicken and the Kung Pao Chicken. Both were very tasty. And very generous portions considering it was a lunch special. They came with egg rolls and white rice. We upgraded one to a fried rice. Spot on. The restaurant is tidy and clean. The service was good. Friendly and attentive staff. Thank you. We will definitely be back again. Thanks for the good eats...“
