“I randomly stopped here last night, I never noticed place. Thank God, I got a house tea, (bomb)that already set up good vibes for my food. Chicken Chow Mein, and shrimp Fred rice.both good but chow mein was delicious tasted fresh flavorful I really enjoyed it my lil ones loved it. The woman in the counter was excellent she had such a beautiful persona they could have turned me away since it was close to closing , I took it to go. We originally came to Chinatown to eat at the other famous place down the street from here, but there was a 2 hour wait there and we needed to eat and get going to the Dodger game! That’s when Google came to the rescue and we found Jade Wok!! We ordered fried rice, chow mein, spare ribs, kung-pow chicken, house beef and all were very delicious!! The toast is absolutely marvelous, and I truly believe it is worth every penny. Unfortunately, I can’t say the same for the other dishes. The sesame cold noodles were good, but missing something—I felt they didn’t quite hit the mark. The wontons were delicious, but the braised pork belly rice was your typical run-of-the-mill rice. Nothing terribly special, but delicious nonetheless. The HK milk tea, however, leaned very watery and missed the signature strong tea taste of a HK milk tea.
Also, their bathroom sink was broken and put as a “use at your own risk”. Hopefully they have fixed this since my visit!
Yet, through all this, I would still return to Liu’s kitchen—for their toast!“

“I’m back at this xiao long bao spot in Baldwin Park again! The restaurant has that super down-to-earth, old-school Chinese restaurant feel that instantly feels familiar. The main point is — they’ve been making xiao long bao in LA for years, and everything is still handmade by the aunties, not pre-made. If you want a giant crab roe soup dumpling, this is the place I think of!

The giant crab roe soup dumpling comes out steaming hot and is seriously huge — it almost fills the whole steamer 🤣. I like to slowly sip the soup through a straw first, then open it up and eat the rest. The crab roe flavor is rich and fragrant, and it’s so satisfying while it’s still hot. Even editing the video made me crave it again!

We also ordered crab roe xiao long bao and sweet-style pork xiao long bao. The wrappers are thin and there’s plenty of soup inside. The slightly sweet pork filling feels very Jiangnan-style, and I personally really like that little touch of sweetness.

The Wuxi-style pork ribs looked so appetizing too — tender meat with a sweet, savory sauce that goes perfectly with rice. The Liangxi crispy eel was another specialty I really liked. It’s crispy, fragrant, and super snackable — not something you see at every restaurant.

For something warm and comforting, we also had a bowl of five-spice beef rice noodles, with your choice of spicy or non-spicy, plus a plate of garlic pea shoots to round out the meal.

I also noticed they have these cute little training chopsticks 🥢, which are perfect for kids or anyone who’s still learning how to use chopsticks. Such a thoughtful touch haha.

BUT if you're looking for some delicious mouth watering dumplings cooked in various forms then you're at the CORRECT place. I brought my mom here and we tried the pork chive regular dumplings, the pan fried beef and cumin dumplings and the regular fried rice. All of it was delicious. Also they give you a complimentary bowl of egg drop corn soup. NOT a small bowl but a good size portion, it was GOOOOOD. “I have been to a lot of places with similar food as this location. I was taking my mom out to eat and it was our first time there. The lady who was the server was very friendly when I told her my mom was looking for wonton soup and she said that they did have some. It was delicious and very fresh. I got a plate with chow mein and 2 items of choice which were good in portion size. Hands down one of the best orange chicken I have had. I also had bbq pork which was also good. The thing that blew my mind from taste was there smoked porked ribs and their squash with green beans. The ribs were amazing almost like if they specialize in BBQ. Location was clean. I will definitely be returning.“

“I googled "best Chinese in LA" and then this popped up as the #1 place. So we drove - and had a very good meal. However, if you expect the classic Chinese dishes, you will be disappointed. This is Shezuan, "a different animal". So no rice, no sweet-and-sour-this-and-that. So be prepared for very spicy Szechuan food. Noodles. No rice. Try the dumplings, they were delicious. We ordered mild (1 out of 5 spice degrees) and we were burning inside (we had two separate orders of dumplings - but spice grade 1. There is no consistency, so be careful). So if spicy is what you are "in" for, you'll love it. The ambiance is sort of authentic ;-) - the sign on how to use the toilet (outside the restaurant in the alley) says more than words. But then, it was $100 all-in for the four of us only. My advice: I could barely understand the service language. Better check the menu before you go. As we were first-timers, I wanted to share three starters and three mains among the four of us and leave it up to the waitress to make us explore - she did not understand. I asked if they served beer. The answer was "noodles or dumplings". :-)“

“Tried Vege Valley Restaurant recently and honestly it was a good surprise. I’m not even strictly vegetarian but the food was really flavorful and fresh. Ordered noodles and a veggie dish both were well cooked and not too oily, which I liked.
The place is simple perfect for a relaxed meal. Service was quick and staff were polite. Pricing also feels reasonable for the portion size.
Only small issue was parking, took a bit of time to find a spot. But overall definitely worth visiting if you want healthy and tasty veg food.“
