“Recently while visiting Mill valley, we had our lunch in Mamahuhu in this location. Food was excellent, fresh and quick service. The store staff was very friendly and personable. The seating was very comfortable and kids friendly. Recommend folks check it out!“

“I went there to see if I could eat there, but it was a take-out restaurant.
However, I ordered delicious food and enjoyed it when I got home.
I was grateful that the friendly staff told me about nearby parks where I could eat and explained things well.
There is also a parking lot, so park comfortably.“

“This food is good. I wasn’t expecting it to be that good for some reason but I’m impressed. We had the veggie egg rolls (2 1/2), there was a funny spice added in there that wasn’t familiar nor was it necessary. Green onion pancakes (4.5) Long donut (4/5) it was so fresh, hot and crispy. Sweet chili wings (4), got happy when I seen the jalapeños but there was no kick at all, they were like a basic teriyaki. General tso chicken (4) no kick to them like normal general. Beef & broc (4) shrimp fried rice (4.5). The lady in front gets a little flustered and I thought she had an attitude with me but once the food came out, she gave us a free soda each and a free Long Donut. Def would return!“

The duck is incredibly crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside, and carved with impressive skill right at the table. The lunch plate is the perfect size. There is rice and a side salad. This time, their crunchy cucumber slices with creamy sesame dressing is to die for. And they even have a vegan option! So satisfying! And I love my Pineapple Mint Tonic!“

The dry fried chicken wings are the best chicken wings I've had. Juicy and crunchy with a nice sweet glaze. The green beans, dry black bean sauce noodles, and hot braised chicken were all good but the dry fried chicken wings were the standout!“

“The sesame chicken is DOPE. All the food is good. My friend really liked the Singapore noodles.

We ordered way too much food and ate delightedly eating leftovers all weekend.
The sesame chicken stays crispy somehow after the microwave.

“I have nothing negative to say about this place. I’ve came here a hand full of times and every time the food is good, the service is efficient and I haven’t had to wait (yet). You know it’s good when my kids go back for seconds and thirds. The price is very decent too. This place is fairly clean. Parking is a bit of a pain but definitely worth it. The owner is some Chinese rapper and advocate for the community. There’s so much to like about this spot that it has earned a 5 star rating from me.“

“So good! They have many different combinations of dumpling fillings. We went with the three treasures, and the mushroom & chicken filling, one with soup and one without, they were both so good. The soup that it comes with is filled with seaweed, and a light savory broth. I highly suggest adding vinegar to the broth to bring out the flavor even more. And you make your own dipping sauce at the table for your dumplings as well.

Service was great, and the food came out quickly. Plenty of seating, with wall decorations.“

“I used to live in SF for a short while and been revisiting Hai Ky for 15 years. I think about the food here a lot - the craft is amazing. It's a regular topic in my group chat.
The broth is restrained but near perfect - the noodles are platonic ideal textures of gloss and chewiness. Glorious, bouncy and well dressed in whatever you get them in. The rice noodles are especially impressive- so fresh and well cooked . The main noodle dish is famous in south china (there's a Netflix china docu) and especially through Thailand Cambodia vietnam and they show the slight inflection of how we eat it in SE Asia. The condiments here are even perfect - just peer into the pristinely sliced chilis perfectly crisp in vinegar brine. Get the special w all the noodles and also the fried fish cake if they still have.
I'm sad to see how abandoned downtown SF and especially Tenderloin feels now on recent visits. A lot of restaurants are barely living anywhere let alone here. I hope selfishly they'll live on for many more years. Support them in all ways- and plz tip all the ppl well. Bless! 🥲“

“The most authentic Hunan cuisine I've ever eaten!“

“This used to be my go to lunch spot when I was attending school nearby, nowadays I still make a visit when I am in the area where I am craving for some good Chinese food. Their menu consists of appetizers, soups, individual entrees, noodles, fried rice, lunch specials and much more. Everything is made to order here which is always a plus for me and I never mind the wait since I am a very patient person. The staffs here are very welcoming, well trained and understanding where I had never encountered an issue during any of my visits. Everything is authentic here and adjustments are upon request. I highly recommend this place to anyone in need of a quick bite when in the area, if you are willing to try something new or if you just so happen to be in the area. I definitely will be back to tryout the other delicious options they have to offer.“

It seems they get their business mostly from takeout. Limited seating area only 3 small tables. Service is inattentive, though I did not come at a busy time. Missing utensils etc for my table.“

The pink tablecloths, the hot tea, the charming back patio, the well priced lunch plate options, the classic Chinese American dishes, the jelly belly jellybean jar, the fish tank, everything is perfect. The mushu pork, DJ chow mein, mongolian beef, and string beans are some of my favorite dishes.“

“Food was fantastic! Each delicious dish had a surprising presentation with a different umami profile. We shared one Golden Coin and decided next time to order one each. It's a perfect beginning bite reflecting the level of excellent deliciousness to come. Next was the Crab Rice Roll, yum! It came in a bowl with a complex addictive broth. Maitake Biang Biang and Fish Fragrant Fish came last and We demolished the fish and were quite full. We boxed the remaining Biang Biang to take home so that we could save what little belly room we had for Mango Sago Sorbet. Oh my that hit the spot and was a perfect ending to our meal. It's going to be hard not to order the same things next time but want to try more dishes.“

I was in SF for some work stuff and had to go there twice because it was that good !
The beef chow fun was the right balance of onions, noods, and meat! The meat was also super tender 😍
The cold beef tendons were really yummy too!
Next time, I need to try some of the greens and heard the dumplings were also very good!

The service was impeccable - the two young gentlemen did an excellent job managing a relatively busy / small place!

“This is honestly the best place to satisfy my craving for great Chinese food. I have visited plenty of times and have never grown tired of eating there. The broccoli chicken with steamed rice is simply the best, and the ingredients are always cooked to perfection. I clean my plate every time, down to the last grain of rice, as the portion sizes are just right. The price can't be beat. Plus the owners are super friendly. I will happily visit again!“

This place rocks.

We ordered the crab and fish maw soup. the best that we've had.
we also had clams in black bean sauce which was delicious
the roast duck was served with an amazing duck sauce (perfectly balanced, sweet with spice and acid)
Beef chow fun was delicious
Greens were great.

“All I can say is wow. The restaurant place is a bit small but their food is amazing. We were so full leaving. I really liked the atmosphere. The host was very accommodating. My mom loves dimsung and everything was closed but we found this place that had a little bit of everything on the menu. The milk tea was incrediblely delicious.“

The broth was perfectly balanced with just a touch of sweetness that created the most savory umami flavor bomb. It’s a very rich broth that’s meaty in flavor but not overwhelming. There was so much tender beef shank in this bowl. I kept finding more and more. The noodles were perfectly soft yet chewy. Service was quick but still polite. I loved the miniature collection at the front door. My boyfriend’s pho was also a huge and satisfying portion full of tasty flavor. Can’t wait to come back!!“

“We asked the waitress for no added salt and MSG. I have high blood pressure. Food came out perfect. We ordered two clay pots, 5-spice spareribs & seafood which included shrimp and fish filet pieces. The crispness of the rice was perfect. The jasmine rice was fragrant. I liked the bitter melon with beef. The yu choy in soup was just ok, and I wound not get that again. I plan to return and try some other dishes.“

“Huge menu, big portions, reasonable prices, and the food is great. I've found it hard to find good salt-and-pepper tofu in the Bay Area so it was great to find that this place makes it very well. The tea they served was also a good one, a jasmine oolong

The one flaw I'll point out is that the dishes came pretty far apart time-wise. The first two were pretty fast and then the last two came out way later, after we had finished the first two

“Great Service! Delicious Dumplings! the Generals Shrimp! We Lived It!!!“

“We dined in for a late lunch as a family of three. The yelp waitlist indicated a 10-20 minute wait and we were surprised to receive a text 5 minutes later.

Food came out hot and fresh. We ordered the Juicy Pork Bao, Pork Xiao Long Bao, Zha Jiang House Special Bean Paste with Mince Pork, Boiled Pork and Chive Dumplings and Fried Tofu.

While there is no separate kids menu, our thirteen month old loved his food so much that he stayed in his high chair for the duration of the meal.
