“We visited idly express about 3 times in our short one week trip to the Bay Area. The food was that good!! Pongal, idli, vada combo was delicious. Chutney was super fresh and even with Togo type meals, sambar was hot and yummy. For lunch, I tried their bisibele bath and curd rice combo, and was surprised by how tasty the bisibele bath was! Authentic like how you get in a restaurant in Bangalore.. gulab jamun was the perfect finish to this meal, it was served hot and very tasty. The highlight however was their filter coffee truly one of the best I’ve had here in the US. They offer it in light, medium, or strong. Highly recommend the coffee if you’re here! Parking was very easy to find especially at 8.30 am on weekdays.“

It’s a total gem, especially for someone like me who loves bold and flavorful dishes. I saw they had some new items on the menu recently, so of course I had to come try them right away!

The food was just as amazing as always — full of aroma, depth, and that unique Yunnan spice kick. The Guizhou Stinky Shrimp Sour Stir-Fried Beef was incredibly flavorful — tangy, spicy, and packed with umami. It’s the kind of dish that keeps you reaching for another bite even when your mouth is on fire

And the Dai-Style Beef Offal Bone Broth Mushroom Hotpot was pure comfort in a pot. The broth was rich and milky, full of mushroom and beef flavor, and the combination of textures from the offal, beef, and wild mushrooms was just perfect.

Every visit here reminds me why this place is one of my absolute favorites. Highly recommend for anyone who loves authentic Yunnan and Guizhou flavors — intense, aromatic, and unforgettable!“

Their menu is varied enough to have a great selection, but not so much that it's overwhelming. The minute you enter their diner, you're greeted with a warm Good Morning or Good Afternoon! The staff is very attentive and friendly; we felt like members of the family from our first visit! The food is priced fairly, which is hard to say about almost any other restaurant I've been in lately, and, it is delicious! “I was born and raised in Oaxaca City and decided to give this place a try. I will happily say that they absolutely exceeded my expectations in terms of their flavors, service, and atmosphere.

This food truck is located within the parking lot of a local gas station at E Calaveras Blvd & S Park Victoria Dr. There was enough parking at the time I drove in. The guy who took my order greeted me in Spanish with a smile and acted very genuinely and cordially.

I ordered 2 lengua tacos. The portions were appropriate, and the meat was perfectly cooked and tasted both juicy and very, very, authentic. The onions and cilantro had been freshly diced and made me smile when I squeezed lime juice on both tacos. They gave me two small containers with their red and green salsas. Yes, their salsas immediately activated long-stored memories in my taste buds. I can say that it flew me back to Oaxaca. My whole mouth watered at the first bite, so to extend the feast in my mouth and soul, I made 4 tacos with the double tortillas.
I will be coming back with friends and family and I think you should too.“

“Extremely friendly staff, very quick service, and decent prices. The food is always fresh, and there are many options. They also give you a scoop of crab and avocado in the toppings section without charging you extra, like most places, only if you want a second scoop (and only $1.50ea if you do). There are many drink options, or you can have free water with fresh fruit in it every day, plus dessert! The atmosphere can be noisy if it's during busy hours, but is otherwise very mellow; and is fantastic for take out too!“

“Price is $15.99/lb with the many options for the broth. Malatang has gotten very popular recently and feels similar to hot pot. You get a decent amount of food if you only eat 1 lb of food.

The space in the restaurant is on the smaller side, but the wait time is short. You grab a bowl and go down the line while picking up the ingredients you want into your bowl. At the end, the cashier weighs the bowl to determine how much to pay.

Wait time for them to cook the food and bring it out to you is very quick, which helps bring down the wait time. I enjoyed the beef broth but spice level was high for me personally at the mild level.“

This place is almost hidden in plain sight, tucked right behind the McDonald’s everyone in Milpitas knows. It’s one of those true “if you know, you know” spots that locals swear by.

My girlfriend and I have been coming here for a while now, and the reason we keep coming back is simple: quality. Every dish that comes out of the kitchen is consistently fresh, flavorful, and made with care.

Special Combo #35 – Galbi & Seafood Tofu Soup (Medium Spicy)
The portions are on the smaller side, but honestly, they’re perfect for two people, just enough to leave you satisfied without feeling stuffed.
The Galbi is beautifully marinated and grilled to perfection with that irresistible sweet and savory balance and a hint of char.
The Seafood Tofu Soup is our favorite, clean, rich, and full of depth. It’s easily one of the best versions around.

“Known for their menu family-style plates to share, Daeho brings quality Korean food to the Bay Area. Make sure to enjoy the food while it’s hot because as it cools it becomes more thick and heavier to eat.

Doh Gal Jjim / braised short rib + ox tendon (~$110 for large with add ons of mozzarella cheese, potato noodles, and rice cakes): shared this between 3 people and was not able to finish it. The presentation was amazing – the staff bring it in a hot stone bowl and blow-torch the cheese in front of you. The meat is extremely tender and juicy due to it being braised. We got the highest spice level and it was perfect – it made an impact but not overbearing to the point where it ruined the meal. The potatoes and caramelized onions were great complements to the beef. The ox cartilage was extremely gooey but I wish they added more.

Spicy Kalbitang ($24 for regular size): flavorful and refreshing soup that would taste amazing on a cold day. Broth was light and great salt levels – never fell flat on flavor.

Kalbi Ttoek-bokki ($13): basically the same sauce and seasoning as the Kalbijjik dishes but a smaller portion to share if you want to try other menu items.

Had to make a Yelp reservation in advanced, and upon arrival to confirm the reservation, had to wait for about 20 minutes. The restaurant is small in size but relies on a quick turnover rate and quick service to host many guests. The staff even pack up the food for you with their own sealed containers. I would go here maybe once or twice a year to celebrate with family or friends but the wait time deters me from coming back more frequently.“

Both soup was rich and thick and the fried black garlic was fragrant. The pork slices were thick and soft. Have to say the ramen was tasty and satisfying, authentic to Japan. “😕Not their best showing. Waitress served me chili with onions and did not give me option to say no. She tried to over-charge me for the corn muffin that comes with the chili. Then pretty much told me I had to pay now as she was going on break, even though I was still finishing my tea. When I asked if the onions were standard or optional, the waitress said they were standard, the manager said they are by request. But how can I know they'll add onions if no one tells me. I literally had to point to the menu to show that it does not say cheese and onions can be added.“
