“Coming to Chinatown to discover Asian culture, the restaurant is very traditional and cozy. The food is excellent, the prices are very fair, and the quantities too. The staff is very welcoming, caring and smiling. Thank you for this good meal. I highly recommend. #French tourist“

“For this hole in the wall, out of the way place, it had to be good, and it delivered! I got beef pho with a side of rice and the brown sugar boba. The broth was definitely the best part! Didn’t skimp on the flavors. And the brown sugar boba is really good
Parking: Very limited parking, bring a small car if you can“

“Bae and I had a music industry function in the hills behind this stretch of street. I saw this place was newish and had amazing reviews. The spot is a little hard to find which is OK but unusual for this relatively dowdy stretch of neighborhood where the raining cuisine is still, in 2024, red sauce italian(!) I love going to the Capri with friends during the holiday season but this was a wednesday night in July.
It was literally empty when we walked in and it made Bae nervous but I'd read the reviews so I reassured her. Like the name indicates it's a Vietnamese restaurant that serves food tapas style. So Bae loved it, I'm not a huge fan of tapas period, not even in the basque country or Spain, but this is still a great restaurant and deserves support! I would go back for sure if I was back here in the area, maybe before a vidiots movie.
Vegetarian options: Some
Dietary restrictions: There's no dairy on the menu
Parking: Kinda rough
Kid-friendliness: I guess? Child will be sharing small plates.

“I randomly discovered the place for Ban Xeo. Quite an interesting dish. It is very crispy. You wrap each bite with the lettuce.
I am new to it, so my table was a bit of a mess.
The owner, a guy, spoke english. That’s good.
There was a sign that says they’ll take credit card, but charge a $1 fee. I think that’s a bit steep.
There’s ample parking at the back.“

“I came by with my boyfriend to check out this place after watching a movie, the food was great hit the spot and their Thai tea was bomb.com. I was so quick to stuffing my face that I forgot to take pictures! But overall a great experience and good atmosphere :)“

“It's easily the best Banh Mi joint in all of SoCal. This place tops them all. The attention to detail is superb. They come individually packaged in a box, sauce, and veggies on the side to keep the sandwich crisp. Bread made in house, probably, based on the way the bread has irregular edges and the overall quality. Bread is soft and light in the middle and extra crispy on the outside. The best sandwich here is the Roasted Pork. Listen, there's the usual dry roasted pork you get from those roasted duck houses, and then there's this. All you foodies know what im talking about. This roast is simply done right. It's crispy and light skin around soft juicy meat and fat. No hard glass shards breaking off a over done wet roasted pork belly here. It's roasted to perfection. You know it's cooked at a perfect 165 to retain the juices. The chef really really knows what he/she is doing. Don't expect all meat and no fat. It's not a bourgeois place. And dont expect a 12 dollar rip off. It's not that either. It's a wholesome mom and pop join that service fair priced $7.50 specialty sandwiches that you can't even compare to quality in Vietnam's best joint. Come here with confidence, it's simply the best Banh Mi in all of Southern California. I'm willing to bet the best for its price in all of the US and Vietnam combined. Go try it and you will definitely agree. I challenge anyone to prove me wrong.“

“I've been on a banh mi quest to find the best banh mi in San Gabriel valley.
I usually buy one item at all the places and it's the BBQ pork sandwich.
This is the best place so far. The sandwich is delicious. Old school delicious.
I call this banh mi, THE ULTIMATE. ?
Place is cash only.“

““The bomb.com” Pico Rivera has needed a good Pho restaurant for a long time now. I tried this place the other day for the first time and it was just right. Had a sore throat due to this shitty December weather and it was very delicious and soothing. Little pricey but the quality is worth the price.“

“I've been visiting this hidden gem for over a decade, and I can confidently say that their bánh mì remains some of the best I’ve ever had in Chinatown! The #1 option with cold cuts and Vietnamese-style meatloaf is incredibly flavorful. I might be mistaken, but I detect a lovely smoky note that elevates the entire sandwich.
The bread is truly exceptional—fresh, soft on the inside, and perfectly crunchy on the outside. It’s the ideal baguette to complement the vibrant fillings. Every bite is a delightful mix of textures and flavors that keeps me coming back for more. If you’re in the area, you have to give this place a try!“

“Nem Nướng Khánh Hoà is widely praised for its authentic Vietnamese cuisine and warm atmosphere. The restaurant’s specialty is nem nuong cuon, a dish of grilled pork meatballs wrapped in rice paper and served with fresh herbs and vegetables. The dish stands out for its flavorful, fresh grilled pork and the crunchy texture of the accompanying ingredients“

“The food here is pretty good. We ordered Pho, sandwich, chicken egg rolls and vermicelli. Take awhile for the food to come out but it’s worth it. Chicken egg rolls are surprisingly taste very like pork egg rolls. Recommend this place if you want to try Vietnamese food in Little Tokyo.“

“This place is nice and spacious, service was good. The Pho has good flavor. The wonton noodle soup was okay, but not sure what was in the wonton. ? …not a fan. Watch out for the tip calculations at the bottom of your receipt , it is done after tax is added on, which is wrong, should be calculated BEFORE TAX is added. Do your own calculation. Park in the parking structure in the back.“

“Hand down the best banh cuon and bun rieu in the area. Banh cuon was handmade freshly in the restaurant - it’s so soft but tender at the same time, not as soggy like other banh cuon places. The only minus is that parking is limited and the restaurant is very tiny.“

“First time trying Mr. Baguette. I noticed on the menu that they have authentic Vietnamese and American Vietnamese Bánh mì. For me, I always select authentic cuisine special #1. The baguette was perfectly baked and the right amount of ingredients. I thought the vegetables were perfectly pickled. I will definitely return to try another sandwich.“

“**A Hidden Gem of Authentic Vietnamese Cuisine**
We came on a Saturday to enjoy some of our favorite dishes at the original Summer Roll location in Rosemead. This place has been around forever, and it's like coming home for a meal with family. We know the family that owns the restaurant, and they are always so friendly and welcoming.
We had their *nam*, *bun bo hue* (pig foot noodle soup), *banh beo* (steamed rice cakes), and *banh xeo* (Vietnamese crepe with bean sprouts and seafood). The food is from the Hue region of Vietnam, and they do it so well—everything was flavorful, authentic, and delicious.
While the decor here may not be as modern as their newer location in Temple City, this spot has that charm and authenticity that reminds you of a true family-run restaurant. We've admittedly neglected this location, but after this visit, we plan to come back more often. The food is excellent, and the warm, homey atmosphere makes the experience even better. Highly recommend if you're looking for a taste of genuine Vietnamese.“

“We’re regulars and love their curry chicken dish and pho.
We recently bought one of their products, “Don Chili Oil Crunch”to try at home and it’s phenomenal! I’ve made fried rice with it and also dip all my steamed vegetables in it. Not too spicy, subtly sweet, and the perfect amount of crunch. Will definitely return for more!“

“Ahhhhh ahhhh AHHHHH!
I've found my pho place finally in SGV!!! I frequent Vinh Ky in Garden Grove and I have been on the hunt for the same decadent bowl of pho rhat is closer to me in SGV. Holy Jeebus! I found it and I cant believe it has always been close tk me all along.
Great service & great food! Their chili oil is self serve and very good! Their Che desserts are not bad, too.
The only thing that was lacking is the amount of mint/basil that they serve with their bowls, but I understand since a lot of people dont use them but Im one of those people that wanr to see all green on my bowl. But no sweat, I just asked for more!!
Thanks Pho Hai, I will be back!“

“This Vietnamese restaurant might not have the most modern interior or be in the trendiest plaza, but the food and service make up for it. The staff is always friendly, and the dishes are consistently good.
One thing I really appreciate is how vegan and vegetarian-friendly the menu is. There’s a great selection of options for different diets. I tried the bánh canh and bî cúôn and they were flavorful. Whether you’re vegan, vegetarian, or into traditional dishes, they’ve got you covered.
If you’re after solid, no-frills Vietnamese food, this place is worth checking out.“

“Ordered number 30 and the meat was sweet and flavorful. Bean curd was pretty good. Egg with crab was actually very yummy but i didn't like the salted egg.
Pickled vegetables were DELISH in combo with everything else on the plate and it came with soup which was light and flavorful.
Also tried the passion fruit soda which was a unique kind of carbonation that was less bubble and more fizzy stingy? The passion fruit flavor was strong though which I enjoyed“

“Solid pho tai for $13, lots of noodles, meat, and broth. The meat is a little too lean and I wish I could get a larger side of hoisin and chili sauce when dining in. All the side addons came in a little baggie, and the mung bean sprouts seemed to be cut in half. Overall, rather go here than drive into LA for Pho 87.“
