“My son and I YELPED for Mexican food.Good Mexican Food, and decided to give this place a try. I had the Spicy Shrimp Plate, and my son had the Steak and Spicy Prawns. They also provide Tortilla Chips and a Salsa Bar. The guy who cooked our food, knows how to cook! My shrimp was absolutely a balance of green/red peppers, onions, in a slightly sweet, savory and mildly spicy sauce. The Rice was done just right(not dried out).The Black Beans, were tender, with just the right amount of salt. The Iceberg lettuce and sliced radish was cold, fresh and crispy— Served with a dollop of sour cream, avocado sauce; a slice of tomato and sprinkle of Mexican cheese top the salad - it did a nice job to balance the heat of the main course. Everything was well executed. The overall indoor atmosphere is very clean, simple and no frills. Love their neon menu signage. And, their prices are reasonable. Thank you for the delicious meal. We postponed twice because of the pandemic and in the course of that time changed our venue to San Benito House. Let me tell you, that was the BEST decision we ever made. Not only is the venue itself incredibly beautiful and the food so delicious, but Kai and his staff bent over backwards for us and all of our guests. Kai is the ultimate hype guy and he took what normally would have been a stressful event to plan, and made it so easy and fun. I would (and will) recommend that anyone who is wanting a Half Moon Bay wedding, that this is the ultimate place to go. Generous self serve salsa bar, delicious Chipotle, Verde, pickled jalapeños and carrots, and spicy peppers and mango salsa (I miss the spicy cucumber salad they used to have all the time. The vegetarian options are good, sometimes just all right, but they are very consistent and everything is very fresh. I can make a whole side dish out of their salsa bar while I wait for my order, which makes this my favorite taqueria in town. The one star is missing from my review in atmosphere, only because it's usually quite loud so I only do to-go. I've only sat inside to eat once or twice. “This may be our new favorite spot. Easier for us to get to. We've tried the Super Prawn Burrito and carne asada super nachos. I recommend both. The chips have the perfect crunch/crisp. Salsas are all great too. I was too hungry so no photos this time. Will definitely be back.“

The tacos are so tasty (may need a little more meat) and made to perfection. The gordita is a force to be reckoned with, bursting with flavor and so worth its weight in gold. “Great experience at Los Metates. I ordered tripa tacos, nicely crispy, and carnitas tacos—both were delicious and full of flavor.
My husband ordered carnitas tacos as well, and even though I don’t remember the other one he chose, I know he loved them because he devoured them!

“The best tasting Mexican food ever! I always order their Cabeza De Res burrito. Very few Mexican food trucks sell cows head. But this taco truck introduced me to this very flavorful dish. “Good taco salads here in their San Bruno location. It was $11.29 + $2.49 for the added steak. That crispy flicky taco shell revivals the best of them. Free chips! If you want to mix it up, their mango salsa is a very unique La Salsa thing. They tend to get rid of the mango salsa during the holiday season though. Plenty of seats and service was excellent for a counter ordering restaurant. The cashier is also the chef.

About La Salsa, I used to visit their SF Battery St. location near my office in the 2000's before they closed. Also previously in the 2000's, I used to visit their Mountain View location every other Saturday before going to Fry's Electronics. Their food is healthy if you order the right things.“

“I have been here a few times when I was a food delivery driver and I instantly knew I had to make a visit here one day since I am a food enthusiast. Fast forward to present day, I finally got the chance to make a visit here. Me and my friend where craving for a laid back spot to have some tacos and beer, but the place we frequent to was closed at the time and in the back of my friend’s head this place was an option where we both agreed to and I was excited since it is my first time. Upon arrival, it was dinner time and the place was close to a full house where my friend and I just chose to be seated at the bar. Their menu offer many authentic Mexican dishes from appetizers, salads, tacos, burritos, sopas, daily specials, traditional items, single meal options, seafood, hot plates, a la carte, a kid’s menu, desserts, house made cocktails/cocktails and much more to choose from. Everything here is made to order which is always a plus for me since it is quality over quantity and I never mind the wait since I am a very patient person. A bowl of fresh chips and home made salsa with refills is served while your food is being prepared and cooked. The quality of the chips is warm and fresh out of the fryer which is a good pair to their delicious mild salsa. As time went by the place quickly filled up with customers dining in, customers picking up their takeouts and food delivery drivers arriving to pick up their orders to deliver. This place is a great place to hangout and to have a great time. The staffs here are very welcoming, well trained, understanding and professional where my visit was a satisfying and issue free one. You have the option to dine in at their regular dine in tables, dine at the bar, order for takeout or have it delivered to you via a food delivery app. I highly recommend this place to all Spanish food enthusiasts, if you are in need of a quick bite, to anyone willing to try something new, if you are looking for a cool and laid back spot to dine at or if you just so happen to be in the area to check them out.
