“After the 49ers game last night, we headed to Happy Lamb, conveniently located right across from the light rail to Levi’s Stadium. Though it was packed around 7 PM, we were seated right away. The atmosphere was casual and lively, with many families enjoying their meals.
The staff were warm and friendly, greeting us with smiles. The hot pot broth and ingredients were fresh and flavorful. We opted to add the AYCE sauce, fruit, and dessert for a small additional fee. While the dessert wasn’t our favorite, it worked out since we avoided the extra sugar.
We had plenty of leftovers for two and even packed up the rest of our cooked soups to take home. Next time we’re in the area and craving hot pot, we’ll definitely be back.
Free street parking is available in the neighborhood.“

“Combination of hot pot and Korean BBQ at this all-you-eat restaurant in downtown Mountain View. There are also some dim sum items, but I would not recommend them. Meats were of decent quality, but some or the marinated beef was too sweet. Plenty of sauces and other herbs and spices to make your own dipping sauce. Service is super fast, but each portion is relatively small. Plenty of street parking and also several nearby parking lots.“

“The service is outstanding, the broth is.. understated (don't drown the meat in a separate flavor), and the sauces/accessory items are god-tier. I've never even had soft serve ice cream this good. Not a single ice crystal in the ice cream!
Get the Sukiyaki broth. Spicy miso would seem like the most flavorful, but our group agreed Sukiyaki is better. Want spicy? Grab the infinite Thai chilis at the bar and add to the soup.
Also ponzu-garlic-onion is the best sauce. Fight me! Raw egg (pasteurized) is crazy good too if the flavors get too overwhelming.
I didn't even talk about the meats! Yeah wagyu is great, oyster is great, crab is meh, shrimp (sashimi and platter) is whoah, abalone isn't my thing (it's just all natural fish cake?). Bone marrow was surprisingly not my favorite for a first time experience.
Membership pays for itself after two visits. Get it!“

“Love when you can see and taste the quality!! ??✨
@taichipotshabu is hands down the BEST authentic Japanese shabu shabu in the Bay Area. Just look at the marbling on the meat and the richness of the broths. The best part, it’s AYCE! Service is amazing and they really make it feel like you’re having a comforting meal at home.“

“I have indulged in a late lunch at Tabu Shabu twice. The staff did a great job of describing the options and preparation process, after learning it was my first visit. They checked in several times to ensure things were going well and offered advice. There are a variety of protein options and the vegetables gave "farm to table vibes." The meat was high-quality and the ponzu dipping sauce was delicious.
Parking: The parking directly in front of the restaurant is small and crowded.“

“Now offering all you can eat for $36.99 for dinner. I added specialty items frog legs for additional $3.99. So many selections beyond what we can order from the menu. Cold dishes including spicy beef jerky and spicy clams. More items like different meatballs, seafood, beef skewers, vegetables in their refrigerator that customers can pick themselves. Really worth the price. I spent around $30 for non- AYCE hotpot restaurant. Highly recommended to come here for dinner, more selections. The american wagyu itself worth the extra price.
Vegetarian options: They have lots of vegetable selection as well.“

“If you know what to expect and don't expect to be waited on, then you'll be fine. Every dish has different levels of spiciness, and the only thing I wish is that the spiciness level of each dish was similar across the board, but that's impossible since every dish has different ingredients. What I mean by that is if you choose "really spicy" for one hot pot item then it should be roughly similar with a different hot pot but again I know that's difficult with the ingredients being different. The miso hot pot was so mild 😩..I digress. Also, if you're like me and like to have a good amount of meat as protein in your soups, then make sure to order a side of beef (especially for the Taiwanese supreme). I was low-key disappointed there was barely any meat for a dish that's considered "supreme." I did order a side a beef halfway through my meal, which I didn't know we could do until my date told me.“

“I think this might be my favorite malatang place in Bay Area! They’re quick, the pork broth is so so excellent and rich and the sauce bar is perfect! The tea is strong, not sweet, and I can have it alongside Macu tea. I’m in heaven!!!
Kid-friendliness: Pork soup not spicy kids love it!“

“I feel cold little bit, so I needed GOOD CHICKEN SOUP to warm up. Their hotpot soup is made of chicken that has been cooked over 15-20 hours (based on their Manager). Best Soup ever!!
Moreover, the owner came to me personally and warmly asked about the service, as well as their upcoming holiday dish for Mid-Autumn Festival!! Highly Recommend to my friends and ppl here“

“The selection of fresh ingredients, from vegetables to meats, was impressive, and the medium spice level broth I chose was perfectly balanced with rich, savory flavors. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, making the dining experience smooth and enjoyable. Overall, it was a delightful and authentic taste of Chinese street food that I highly recommend.“

“Solid food that's centered on a Taiwanese menu but mixed in with a bunch of other Asian cuisines, like Korean Army Stew. They have a super extensive hot pot menu, and the spicy dishes are truly spicy.
Prices are very reasonable and quantities are large. Service is solid too. I'll definitely be coming back!“

“Semi self-service. (Raw) meat selection for the table & personalized soup base are brought to you; the remainder (veggies, tofu & seafood) come on the conveyor belt. You pick your own side-dish sauces (buffet style). All you can eat but limited to 90 min.
Meats were very fresh, as were the seafood, since we had an 11 am reservation (allowed for > 6 people; more on this below). Plentiful and speedy conveyor belt since we were the "1st shift" (get my drift?). I preferred shrimp & chicken (low fat), but was able to tear off the fat (yup, strip by strip if your diet tends in that direction) from the red meats. After a while, no one could tell what meats were on which plates! We thought the baby scallops were great: fresh and tender if you let it into the soup only for 15 seconds, yet they didn't toughen up if you left them in for a while. Shrimp: delicious & fresh, and you have a choice of shelled vs with the full metal jacket!
The variety of tofu was really good. The puffy rectangles were especially nice since they soaked up the soup and softened upon contact with moisture. There were sufficient greens to even things out. We saw a group of Buddhist monks in the queue, so you know it's possible to eat vegan here.
Some of the soup base selections were exceptional: tomato (so good!), mushrooms & Tonkatsu highly recommended (these all start with bone broth, I believe). Miso not so much (uninteresting). The soup gets more flavorful as the meal progresses, so it's better to get something not too intense.
We secured a reservation with 7 people, but personally, I wouldn't do this again. The seating for a big group still places the conveyor belt next to only 2 people, so now those closest to the belt must continuously serve the rest of the table. It's too much. Far better to break up the group into foursomes. However, I've heard that sometimes they stuff a lone customer onto a table for 3. How weird is that?
While the atmosphere is alright, the style of food service is such that it made for a feeding frenzy with no conversation (except to praise the food). If it's a visit you seek, this is not the experience you'd want. Or plan to visit another place afterwards.“

“9/23/2024
The manager contacted me the next day after I posted my original review on 9/14. He was professional and expressed sincerity and apologized. I was impressed how he handles the matter and wanted to make things right and will correct moving forward. Also he does encourage me to help them to address the problems I saw immediately which I think it’s a great attitude and philosophy that business owners shall have.
I would say if you are looking for good quality food for party and family this is still the place to go. Just pay extra attention when you pick up your food.
Thank you Home Eats.

I ordered 4 party trays last Saturday for my family dinner as I had good experience when I ate at the restaurant a few weeks ago. However the party tray food quality was a big disappointment with lots of $ charged. Here are why:
1. I asked for pick up at 5:30pm. Food were made ready at 5 pm. Clearly it became lukewarm by the time my sister took them home.
2. The salt and pepper fish filet order look like a big tray and half of them are not fish, just fried dough. Felt being cheated and scammed
3. The green beans with soy sauce wasn’t supposed to be spicy and the website picture doesn’t say nor show red hot pepper. However the dishes had tons of red pepper and way too spicy
4. The only two ok dishes are the onions with lamb and fried chicken wings
I will not order any party tray there ever again. I couldn’t address it with the company either as I need to take care of my guests first and I had to apologize to them and sadly no one asked where I get the food either.“

“Good choice for halal diet.
Variants of hotpot food materials.
Fried rice, fruits, dumplings, ice cream are delicious.
Meat options are limited, only beef and lamb.
Lamb is awesome, but sometimes beef is a little bit too lean.
The biggest complaint I have is still flys.
Where I occasionally saw them on the foods or table.
The new owner definitely improve this store a lot. If they could resolve the issues above, it will a popular place in east bay.

“Really great restaurant. We got two noodle soups and dumplings which were excellent and had a very authentic taste. The people working there were also super friendly - I dropped a chopstick and someone brought over a new set of chopsticks before I had even picked up the one I dropped. As someone who has traveled extensively in China I'd say this place brought back the most memories of great Chinese food and exceptional hospitality.“

“Good food, service and clean, well lit restaurant. Tried a variety of items. You scan a qr code and order from the table. We had the onion pancake (good, a little oily as expected), dumplings (tasty), dry beef bowl (nice mix of veggies and beef. Has peanuts and fries), green pepper fish noodle soup (photo on menu does not match dish and the green pepper isnt bell pepper, it is a little spicy) and lamb skewers (well seasoned). Would be nice to have the smaller items (dumpling, pancake, skewers) served first as an appetizer and the larger items as main dishes. Items were served as they were ready so we got the dumplings served last
Parking: Mall parking“

“Super yummy place for malatang and mala xiang guo. I am okay at handling spice but the 10 spicy was still okay for me. The mala xiang guo is super flavorful and comes out really quickly after you’ve chosen what you want to go in it. Would definitely recommend!!
This is a famous malatang (mara xianggu) restaurant!! It's not as spicy as I thought, so even 10 would still be delicious~“

“So many options to choose from here! We loved everything we got, but the tofu dishes were the standout. FYI- I like to order directly from restaurants, but I think their website’s menu is outdated and we could not reach them by phone, so we ended up ordering via Uber Eats. Updated from previous review on 2025-04-27“

“This hotpot is pretty good! We have lunch special for 2 people and it’s less than $60 in total, but we have a lot as the pic below, 2 meets, 3 veggies, 1 entree, 1 plum pitcher and 1 free passion fruit pitcher. Also, the food is really fresh, and we just choose mild mild spicy which is just right. Previously, it’s very spicy even if we choose the least spicy level.
Happy to eat here for lunch ;)“
