“This hotpot is pretty good! We have lunch special for 2 people and it’s less than $60 in total, but we have a lot as the pic below, 2 meets, 3 veggies, 1 entree, 1 plum pitcher and 1 free passion fruit pitcher. Also, the food is really fresh, and we just choose mild mild spicy which is just right. Previously, it’s very spicy even if we choose the least spicy level.
Happy to eat here for lunch ;)“

“One of the BEST hot pot places I have ever been. The rich and tasty broths of any soup that is made has an intense flavor that makes you come back for more. Anything you add will take a flavor note from the hot pot so decadently you’ll just want to get it coming. They have a wider verity of vegetables, meats, and add ins that you can find at most hot pot places. The only thing strange was peppa pig was playing on the TV, which was very odd for a 8pm friday night.“

“we've been 3 times in the past few months and every time was great. we went the day after my wife's birthday, the same day our pet passed, and the staff made it a very special experience and distraction from our loss. absolutely recommend 110%. great food, great people, great experience overall.“

“The service is outstanding, the broth is.. understated (don't drown the meat in a separate flavor), and the sauces/accessory items are god-tier. I've never even had soft serve ice cream this good. Not a single ice crystal in the ice cream!
Get the Sukiyaki broth. Spicy miso would seem like the most flavorful, but our group agreed Sukiyaki is better. Want spicy? Grab the infinite Thai chilis at the bar and add to the soup.
Also ponzu-garlic-onion is the best sauce. Fight me! Raw egg (pasteurized) is crazy good too if the flavors get too overwhelming.
I didn't even talk about the meats! Yeah wagyu is great, oyster is great, crab is meh, shrimp (sashimi and platter) is whoah, abalone isn't my thing (it's just all natural fish cake?). Bone marrow was surprisingly not my favorite for a first time experience.
Membership pays for itself after two visits. Get it!“

“They are wonderful people with a genuine care for serving food lovingly, they have a good amount of vegetarian options. Loved the housemade udon noodles and the litchi beer they serve. Best best people ever we stayed over 45 mins past their closing time and they had zero complaints, I absolutely love this place“

“Zhangfei Hot Pot is such a great spot!
The ambiance is lively and welcoming perfect for a fun night out with friends or family. The broths are packed with flavor, and the variety of meats, seafood, and veggies is fresh and high-quality. Everything tastes even better when you cook it yourself at the table. The staff is super friendly and attentive, always making sure you have what you need and explaining the menu if it’s your first time trying hot pot. Overall, it’s an experience that feels both authentic and enjoyable. Definitely recommend checking it out!“

“I think this might be my favorite malatang place in Bay Area! They’re quick, the pork broth is so so excellent and rich and the sauce bar is perfect! The tea is strong, not sweet, and I can have it alongside Macu tea. I’m in heaven!!!
Kid-friendliness: Pork soup not spicy kids love it!“

“I had such a great experience here! The hotpot came in a beautifully designed pot that kept the broth bubbling and full of fresh vegetables, mushrooms, and bok choy. The beef was sliced perfectly thin, with great marbling for flavor, and the hand-pulled noodles were chewy and satisfying. Everything tasted fresh, clean, and high quality. The portion sizes were generous, and it felt like a balanced, hearty meal. On top of that, the presentation was gorgeous. The pot itself is a work of art. Definitely a spot I’d recommend for anyone craving comforting and authentic hotpot!“

“Really great restaurant. We got two noodle soups and dumplings which were excellent and had a very authentic taste. The people working there were also super friendly - I dropped a chopstick and someone brought over a new set of chopsticks before I had even picked up the one I dropped. As someone who has traveled extensively in China I'd say this place brought back the most memories of great Chinese food and exceptional hospitality.“

“Semi self-service. (Raw) meat selection for the table & personalized soup base are brought to you; the remainder (veggies, tofu & seafood) come on the conveyor belt. You pick your own side-dish sauces (buffet style). All you can eat but limited to 90 min.
Meats were very fresh, as were the seafood, since we had an 11 am reservation (allowed for > 6 people; more on this below). Plentiful and speedy conveyor belt since we were the "1st shift" (get my drift?). I preferred shrimp & chicken (low fat), but was able to tear off the fat (yup, strip by strip if your diet tends in that direction) from the red meats. After a while, no one could tell what meats were on which plates! We thought the baby scallops were great: fresh and tender if you let it into the soup only for 15 seconds, yet they didn't toughen up if you left them in for a while. Shrimp: delicious & fresh, and you have a choice of shelled vs with the full metal jacket!
The variety of tofu was really good. The puffy rectangles were especially nice since they soaked up the soup and softened upon contact with moisture. There were sufficient greens to even things out. We saw a group of Buddhist monks in the queue, so you know it's possible to eat vegan here.
Some of the soup base selections were exceptional: tomato (so good!), mushrooms & Tonkatsu highly recommended (these all start with bone broth, I believe). Miso not so much (uninteresting). The soup gets more flavorful as the meal progresses, so it's better to get something not too intense.
We secured a reservation with 7 people, but personally, I wouldn't do this again. The seating for a big group still places the conveyor belt next to only 2 people, so now those closest to the belt must continuously serve the rest of the table. It's too much. Far better to break up the group into foursomes. However, I've heard that sometimes they stuff a lone customer onto a table for 3. How weird is that?
While the atmosphere is alright, the style of food service is such that it made for a feeding frenzy with no conversation (except to praise the food). If it's a visit you seek, this is not the experience you'd want. Or plan to visit another place afterwards.“

“Ambiance - 5/5 Great experience wit unique decor, the dining area gives off the old street vibes for sure. When you walked in, immediately you are greeted with this nice Chinese decoration. Even their mugs are unique and give the old street vibes.
Food - 5/5 we ordered some skewers, malatang and tomato beef brisket noodle soup. I said their malatang is the best and the highlight here. We ordered the mild spicy Cheng Du soup base that comes with less soup and serve on a big platter. The broth is clean yet super flavorful, tasty with a good strong hint of spice. The heat level was just nice for us as we get to enjoy the broth without the numbing/burning hot effect.
Their fried tofu and quail eggs skewers are seasoned just nice and only complained is the portion is small as I was expecting more than 3pieces of tofu per skewers. But then again these are not the normal cold tofu (it's the better grade, chewy version).
We ended with their rice cake. It's so good and addictive. I couldn't stop eating and have to hold myself back to save the last piece for my family. It's crunchy on the outside but super light and airy inside (unlike most other rice cakes which are usually fairly dense) And very soft and chewy.
Service - 5/5 Very good, observant and attentive. They provided us with extra napkins without us having to ask for more.
I will for sure come back again.“

“Just had a dish of soybean seedling and it was surprisingly good! They had a perfect little crunch on the outside but stayed tender inside. The seasoning was spot-on—a nice savory, garlicky flavor with a hint of spice. It's a great simple side dish, super healthy-tasting, and feels light even when ate lots meats.“

“Don't let the parking lot fool you- this place is AWESOME inside!
They have a LARGE selection of ingredients to choose from for your hot pot as well as fruit, cake and freshly made ice cream for dessert. Drinks are included in the buffet price.
Staff are very friendly and helpful and explain things well. This was important for us as we had never been to a hot pot place before so we had no idea what to do😂.
They are open 7 days a week with lunch and dinner buffet. Call for hours and prices. We had lunch on a monday and before tip for 2 of us it was $44.95.
Definetly recommend!“

“Cute hole-in-the-wall Chinese restaurant with great (and remarkably entertaining) service, tasty food, and a huge selection of vegetarian options. I visited Da Sichuan with a fairly large group, made up of about half vegetarian (or almost vegetarian) folks and half meat-eaters. At our server’s recommendation, we collected all our plant-based folks on one half of the table and our less plant-based folks on the other to make it easier to share. They have an entire page of their menu dedicated to vegetarian options, all of which are delicious and do not leave you missing the meat at all. We ordered a smattering of dishes, including the garlic eggplant, stir-fried green beans, gobi Manchurian, egg rolls, chicken Manchurian, vegetarian twice-cooked pork, normal twice-cooked pork, and spicy fish fillet. Everything was outstanding, but my favorites were the eggplant, gobi Manchurian (which is, quite entertainingly, a Chinese reinterpretation of an Indian reinterpretation of Chinese food), and spicy fish fillet. I will note that if you’re looking for truly authentic Sichuan cuisine, this isn’t the first place I’d point to. However, if you’re looking for tasty Chinese food in general (that may or may not reflect a specific region’s cuisine), then this is a great spot.
My favorite part of this dinner, though, was the service. Our server was hilarious; she poked fun at the Asian folks in our party for our lackluster Mandarin skills, praised the non-Asian folks for their superior Mandarin, and went above and beyond to serve everyone. We ordered the gobi Manchurian at her strong recommendation, and when it came out, she was extremely adamant about making sure we all tried a bite. She individually served everyone a piece of cauliflower, including two folks who joined us late / after the gobi Manchurian was originally served. She also singled out one person in our group to “teach how to eat the twice cooked pork,” which really just involved loading up a bit of every ingredient onto a spoon and then putting the spoon into one’s mouth. She co-opted the dish’s serving spoon to demonstrate this, even though he was doing just fine with the chopsticks. All around an entertaining meal with tasty food and great vibes — certainly not one I’ll forget anytime soon.“

“thought it was pretty tasty and unique with the tea flavors. I liked the infused tea smoked pork belly the most. their beef was ok but the lamb/pork was pretty good. I think most of all it's good value and with free sauces unlike some other places. Would recommend for a family meal.“
