“I've been a regular at Ok Noodle in Newark for years and can't say enough about their authentic Chinese cuisine. The highlight of my weekly visits is their incredible hand-pulled noodles, which are truly a work of art. The texture is perfect - chewy and satisfying, and the flavor is rich without being overwhelming.

One of the things I appreciate most about Ok Noodle is their commitment to using MSG-free ingredients. As someone who's sensitive to MSG, I can always enjoy my meal without worrying about a headache later.

“Absolutely bomb of spicy Asian cuisine. I found this place by accident one night and after going back a second time, I’m hooked and will be a regular here. The food quality is very high with the right balance of numbing spice. The atmosphere feels new and fun. This place
puts so many Chinese food places to shame.“

We had the onion pancake (good, a little oily as expected), dumplings (tasty), dry beef bowl (nice mix of veggies and beef. Has peanuts and fries), green pepper fish noodle soup (photo on menu does not match dish and the green pepper isnt bell pepper, it is a little spicy) and lamb skewers (well seasoned). Would be nice to have the smaller items (dumpling, pancake, skewers) served first as an appetizer and the larger items as main dishes. “The price is low, the food is tasty and the portion is large. We ordered a few and none is very spicy. The whole fish, black bass is very fresh and cooked with flavor. Smoked pork has strong smoke flavor. The husband-wife team is from Sichuan. The chef cooks slowly with care. Our cold beef mixture dish came out last after 40 minutes.“

I knew this couldn’t have been mine because I have long, thick, luscious, nearly curly hair (somewhere between 2C and 3A). I pulled that jawn out of my food and kept it pushing.I’m not one for formalities, so I was able to move past this. “Everytime I come here it's like going home. Porridge fills you with warm feeling. Fen is filling and not too heavy. Soups nourish your body from deep down. Always a comfortable feeling after eating here for breakfast.

“My Fav Chinese joint - Sheszwan prawns are my fav. Honey-walnut prawns are damn good too. Wife likes the Mongolian beef and the soups. It's your classic Chinese take-out place, great lunch specials/pricing. Dinner servings ample in size, a little pricy, but worth it in my opinion. Owner is a sweetie, courteous. Big thumbs-up from me.“

“Your typical Chinese American budget mom and pop restaurant. They are pretty authentic and decent with this Cantonese cuisine with plenty of American Chinese only dishes. The price is unbeatable anywhere.

But what you will probably enjoy most about this place is the service. These older ladies may not have the best English, but they are the most friendly and attentive staff. No scripted greetings from diner staff. But genuine and caring conversation.

Many non-Asian customers here seem to be long time frequent customers. They brought their friends from out of town, they talked about their family members. It was enjoyable just to watch their interactions. This restaurant truly lives up to the name Good Neighbor. I am not exaggerating.

“I ordered the single-cook rice noodles (小锅米线) instead of Yunnan rice noodle's claim to fame, 过桥米线 (house special rice noodles). The rice noodle's texture tasted slightly different from my memory but still feels good. Flavor is closer to Sichuan than Yunnan where the shop is supposed to originate from. But that suites me well. The owner recommends the house special for my next visit. And my next visit will be very soon! (I am willing to give 5 stars even though I only had one dish that is not house special. I will update if the house special disappoints.)

Cloudland Rice Noodle has a small storefront, but is very visible in Cedar Center. I arrived shortly after 6pm on a weekend and got seated quickly. The owner says they had been here for 8 years although I felt that I had been in the mall more recently than that. Their interior decor is not elaborate, but very comfortable.“
