“☆☆☆EXCELLENT FOOD!☆☆☆I highly recommend this place! The service was excellent as well.I was pleasantly surprised at just how delicious the food was and the quality of the food. I haven't really found a great Chinese restaurant, but now I have! It's a bit pricey, but two things...1.) You get what you pay for.2.) You're on Balboa Island! This place has been here since the early 1970s! So they must be doing something right! Right? If you're in the area and want GREAT Chinese food... don't hesitate to go here! Then, after you're done eating, you can go for a nice walk up and down the main street here on this quaint little island.I also recommend going down the street and getting a Dad's ice cream bar! Yum! ?Enjoy!“

“Everything tasted great. They also gave me ample house sauce when I asked for extra which I greatly appreciated. I recommend calling in your order ahead before picking up as they are super fast about it. The staff was very pleasant and the restaurant looked clean. It's small inside but has a large shared outdoor area along with other QSRs next door so it's also great on a beautiful day to enjoy a meal outdoors.“

Panda Express Chinese •
1316 Bison Ave, Newport Beach

“This is the closest corporate owned Panda Express to the UCI area - since UCI does have it's own Panda, but it's run by Aramark and quality there is pretty bad. This corporate PE lets you earn reward/use email offers. Food quality is good and the variety is great as always. If they don't have the entree you want - depending on what time it is - they'll usually offer to cook a fresh batch for you if you're willing to wait. I typically get a side of chow mein, teriyaki chicken, orange chicken and/or mushroom chicken. Service is cheerful and the workers are friendly. If you dine in, there are a few spacious tables, and noise level isn't too bad. There is outdoor seating available as well - shared with the other nearby restaurants. The staff can be seen constantly cleaning/wiping the tables, especially during rush hour. Plenty of parking in the lot anchored by the other stores - but for easier in/out - I like to park in the back - behind the shops.“

“It was the end of the night and everything was looking a little rough. Understandably so.The VERY nice man at the counter pointed out to me what had been cooked last. He recommended the Orange Chicken because it had just come out 10 minutes ago.So I took his advice and it was delicious! ?The staff was very friendly, and the food was very good!A little pricey, but... it is Fashion Island (the high rent district!), and what isn't pricey these days! Ugh! Everything is!Anyway... if you're at Fashion Island and want a quick bite... go to Panda Express! They've got lots of yummy choices! Enjoy!“

“Incredibly clean, with incredibly friendly & attentive staff! Brought my parents here for their first hot pot experience (it was my first time at Haidilao, too). We were greeted by Sharon, who, upon learning it was our first time, took a minute to explain how everything worked. She passed the word onto our server Earl, who turned out to be AWESOME. He explained everything in detail, guided us through the process, and mixed us a couple of complimentary sauces (!). Throughout the meal he was always nearby when we needed him, even though he was juggling us with other tables (which he also handled brilliantly! Could hear him making legit conversation with other patrons). The sauce bar included desserts & appetizers, and he made suggestions for which ones to try (they were all good)! He and Sharon were both very hands-on and helpful as we were packing up our broths to take home. They both took a lot of initiative and were genuinely “present” with us.The whole restaurant was also extremely clean & well-organized — there was obviously a lot of attention paid to both food safety and customer experience. Food was incredible of course. Very very impressed, and will be back! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Dietary restrictions: The sauce bar includes labels & recipes for vegetarian and gluten-free sauces/ingredients, as well as labels for major 8 allergens (including soy). As I left, I spotted an area with candies (for children? while waiting for a table? I only glimpsed it) and each was clearly labeled with “CONTAINS WHEAT,” etc. If you have allergies and tell a staff member, I have no doubt that they would make recommendations and let you know what is available.“

Paracel Seafood Restaurant & Catering Chinese • $$
15583-89 Brookhurst St, Westminster

“Paracel is THE place you want to go with if you're booking a wedding, corporate event, or big celebration for any cause. Their prices for catering and use of their banquet hall are the utmost affordable, along with great service and communication during the entire process. Matt the paracel manager, is professional, consistently responsive, and accommodating to whatever needs you may have or desires for customizing your event to ensure a wonderful turnout. The owner, his wife, and the catering staff were all wonderful and provided amazing service throughout the process. We were very grateful to have a tasting of the menu hosted by the owner and his wife some months before our event so that we could tweak the menu as we saw fit. This was important for us and the already delicious food they served during the tasting was executed even better on the day of. What's even more impressive is that they created a delicious separate vegan menu and pushed out some great dishes for both the vegetarians and vegans who attended our event. We had approximately 160 guests and they all had a great time here. But truly, Paracel can comfortably fit up to 400 guests easily. Our guests complimented us on the good food they had, the great energy, good service, and on the upscale ambiance inside. On the day of, I was not able to eat my own food that was placed on our sweetheart table, but the catering staff were gracious enough to box everything for me so that I could enjoy my food on another day. In fact, the catering staff were kind enough to literally box everything for all the tables to give guests food to go as they wished. Our menu was an expansive 9 meal course, all delicious, with plenty of leftovers for everyone.Even towards the end of our big day, after our DJ left, Matt set up his DJ equipment and gave us some extra dancing time along with manning the bar for those who wanted some drinks before closing. Matt even went the extra mile to help us light up and start the sparklers for our guests to go outside. We literally cannot thank everyone at Paracel enough for allowing us to have the most wonderful day of our lives. I highly recommend this place to everyone.“
