Its seasoning by maple syrup, light soy sauce, miso made it sweet, but what I like is its smokiness and lightly salted. Fried rice is fragrant and soft. The salted egg lava bao was really good, but it could be better if they could keep it warm like how other disum places do.

“First time trying this place and the moment my boyfriend and I walked in, it smelled so good I already knew I was going to love it, I got their curry chicken, green beans, chow mien, and fried rice. And all of it was pretty satisfying I didn’t even need to add soy sauce or sriracha because the green beans made up for the spice. My boyfriend was also happy with his plate and actually finished his so knowing him to not leave leftovers it was that good 👍 really affordable too, don’t forget to walk in with cash because it is cash only

Our server Jacob asked to reopen their kitchen just to make us some dessert even though it was after hours. “I tried Yangguofu Mala Tang and honestly it’s such a fun, customizable dining experience.

You grab a huge bowl and walk along the ingredient bar filling it with whatever you’re craving. There are tons of veggies, noodles, tofu options, seafood, and meats, so it’s easy to mix and match. Once you’re done, they weigh your bowl and you pay by the pound, which makes it feel fair and totally in your control.

After that, you choose your broth. You can go classic, mild, or full spicy mala depending on your heat tolerance. They cook everything fresh and bring it out steaming hot, and the flavors really soak into all the ingredients.

I also loved the drink selection. They have so many options to pair with the spice, which makes the whole experience even better.

Their food has lots of depth of umami flavors with a good amount of spice with a refined touch. Their none spicy broths are especially good too. The chicken is super soft and flavorful, the rice is the right taste too. The sauces are different, however - thai sweet chilli, 90% similar dao you, and a salty ginger paste.
