“Loved the whole ambience and aesthetic of the restaurant. Service was responsive and friendly and checked on us but didn't intrude. Dinner was delicious - just a bit on the cool side by the time we received our meals. I ordered the shrimp Diavola and this was pretty good, however, the shrimps themselves were just OK and not as warm and crunchy as I would've liked. The garlic toast was overdone. The coleslaw and rice were both nice accompaniments. My family had a seelction of tacos and everyone enjoyed. We liked the guacamole and I was the only one who liked the salsa as it was a bit smokey flavoured for everyone else's tastes. Overall, we would say a bit more upscale than a traditional Mexican and we were happy to try it one time.“
“Omg!! It's so delicious! I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. The bartender was so nice and fun. The food was insane, and the atmosphere is a total vibe! Don't miss out on this place! Make reservations tho. It's busy.“

“The atmosphere at this establishment is exceptional, and the customer service is truly amazing. I had the pleasure of meeting the owner, who exuded humility and positivity. I highly recommend trying their delicious margarita tower. While enjoying the beautiful mountain views, you can savor authentic Mexican delights. Thank you, Jaime, for a wonderful experience.Parking: Right in front of the restaurant“

“This place is a hidden gem. Delicious authentic Mexican food that has a wonderful happy hour. The menu is not like the bigger places but that's great because they really focus on the food they do serve. The prices are great, the staff are great the service is great! This is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants.“

“The food that I've had here is fantastic, borderline heavenly. Portions were slightly larger than I imagined they'd be, and with a large selection of different meat options I left excited to try something different my next, hopefully soon, visit!“

“This is modern Mexican at its finest. A great assorted of tastes were pretty in an attractive and comfortable setting. Our couch setting had us settling in for a great meal of small, shared plates. Dishes were innovative and thoughtfully prepared. Four of us shared four small plates to start, we had the chicken and red snapper to share as the larger plates and oh, so delicious crispy churros for dessert. These were served with a dulce de leche, hot chocolate and cinnamon ice cream. We were so full and happy! Our waiter was knowledgeable and food paced well. Drinks were also innovative--nice by the glass wine menu, too. We had an orange wine to complement the meal and it was superb.“
“The food was good and reasonably priced. Service was quick as I can for lunch. I did pick up a weird smell as I was near the window. Kinda odd almost as if a dog or someone had peed. Other than that smell popping up a couple times I am giving it 5 stars. Burger and fries were delicious.“

“This is one of the best Mexican restaurants that we tried around this area. The service is very friendly. We chose Perlita andLengua En Salsa Verde. Both were delicious. The shrimps were cooked perfectly, tender and tasty. The "beef tongue with the green sauce" is an interesting dish to experience. We were not disappointed at all.“

“Such a great establishment. Warmly welcomed the minute you walk in the door. Great menu and phenomenal food. Staff, owner and fellow customers (appear to be regulars) are very helpful.I can’t rate it high enough. The owner has a great sense of humour and is such a thoughtful individual, who was interested in learning the food specialties where we are from and took time to warmly thanked us as we were leaving. We will definitely be back the next time we are in the area. If you haven’t tried it yet, get going. It’s phenomenal. The brisket on Saturday is amazing!!!Parking: We’ve never had an issue parking there. Street parking and a lot on the side of the building.“

“We had just flown into Palm Springs so were looking for a light dinner close to our condo. The Cantina had pretty good food although we were fortunate to catch happy hour prices. Even then, a small street taco was $5. It’ll probably take me a while to get used to CA prices again although being part of the Saguaro hotel likely didn’t help. Not sure we’ll go back but it was an overall good experience.“

“Absolutely incredible Mexican food. We had the cauliflower esquites and a mushroom quesadilla. Both were outstanding. Only wish that we had been more hungry, would have been fun to be able to try more things. Will definitely seek this out on my next trip to Palm Springs.“

“This is a go-to spot for lunch time. My favorite is the queso-birria tacos. The nachos are a meal for two. To top this off they are so nice! I’ve had nothing but good experiences from everyone that works in this store. Been stopping in for months and look forward to their flavors.“

“While eating at the neighboring El Salvador Cafe, we saw the bright colors on the patio of Loco Charlie's and decided to dine here for lunch the next day. Beto greeted us and let us select any of the tables inside or outside. After we chose one on the patio, he brought over our waters, a basket of chips and two bowls of salsa. The first serving of chips and salsa comes free, but it's an extra cost if you want a refill. The menu here is so extensive and they offer basically everything (and probably more) than what you'd expect at a Mexican restaurant. Beto recommended the fajitas so that helped me narrow down my decision. Overall, he was super personable and we enjoyed conversing with him, connecting on the topic of the Pacific Northwest. CHICKEN FAJITAS ($21.99): A HUGE serving which I'm sure could easily be two portions for many people. The chicken became a little dry as it continued cooking on the sizzling plate, but it had good flavor from a savory and slightly sweet marinade. The peppers and onions were still somewhat crisp and had developed a nice char. A separate plate contained two tortillas, Spanish rice, refried beans, lettuce, pico de gallo and guacamole. For the price, the amount of food was quite generous. I had enough leftovers to make for a light dinner. If you are in the mood for fajitas, but want a smaller serving, consider getting the Fajita Tacos. It's the fajita meat and vegetables, assembled into taco form, also served with a side of beans and rice. Throughout lunch, Beto provided great service and stopped by a couple times to check on us. The owner, Charlie, was also helping out that day and visited our table to say hello. Everyone in my group was happy with their meals, so I'd consider this a solid spot for Mexican food. Side notes: - There is plenty of parking since the restaurant is located alongside other shops and eateries. - The restaurant is not far from the airport. With planes taking off every few minutes, it is pretty loud, so the patio isn't the best place to hold a conversation.“

“Wonderful place. The owners are welcoming and always interested in input to give suggestions how to improve service. I spoke to Kelle one of the owners today. I didn't eat here, because of an issue initially with separate checks for a group, however in the end the group did get to do separate checks. Will go back to eat in the future because Kelle was so kind to call me.“

“This place is THE hidden gem of desert hot springs. Best mole I’ve ever had, and I’ve been to Oaxaca. The food has vibrant flavors and is truly authentic. Their cocktail flavor combinations are like nothing I’ve experienced. They have a drink with a stick of burned cinnamon, chipotle blend, mezcal, and ginger simple syrup, all homemade and hand crafted, menu created by the owner.“

“Another great find in the desert area. Can never go wrong with Juan Polo. Consistent taste at every spot regardless of location. Fresh off the press chicken and tasty rice, beans and tatersalad and hot to order tortillas, yes I said it tatersalad lol. Customer service was excellent all the way from entry to exit. Small establishment prepared to stuff even the biggest belly. Cleanliness wow thr bathroom was clean then when i came out a lady went in to clean it again for the night. #Impressive. They were cleaning the establishment for the night I'm guessing but they were digging deep you hear me. Stainless steel wiping stuff, sweeping , mopping, windows. I'm like ok J.P keep things in order then shoot Highly recommended location for good chicken.“

“My family and I haven't been coming here since the 90s. Whenever we are in the low desert and want Mexican food this is our go to. Salsa is good, so are the margaritas. They have excellent pork tamales as well. Our relatives that come out from North Carolina always ask to come here too when they're visiting. Service is excellent. Not exactly a quiet atmosphere if you're there when they're busy, but not too bad.“

“The wife and I traveled from Riverside to DHS to buy a vintage table and came upon this jewel when we headed back home. We found wonderful authentic food and warm and friendly service. Reasonable prices and a relaxed place to eat. If we are ever back in the area we will defiantly stop by. Give them a try small but nice.Wheelchair accessibility: Well cared for special attention“

“Always a delight, been going here for years, and the food is always delicious, authentic, and served hot and fairly quickly. They recently acquired the space next to them, so there's plenty of room now, and the remodeling is very modern looking - great job!“

“What a nice place to get lunch and tasty Mexican food. The service could be friendlier, but I like the set up and how clean everything is. The staff kinda acts like you are bothering them when you ask for anything. But overall I will be back cause I liked my food.“

“One of the best restaurants I went to while in Cat City for Coachella. If you don't want to pay exorbitant amounts of money for sub bar food at the festival, go to this place for a pre game meal. Your tastebuds will thank you. I'm usually not a fan of hard shell tacos but their beef tacos had fall-off-the-bone meat, and crispy crunchy taco shells that I haven't had anywhere else. Their specials center around pupusas, but those tacos won over my palate. Ended up coming here twice because of the value and taste. The waitstaff is extremely nice and we left with some temporary tattoos from the quarter machines which apparently haven't been serviced in 2+ years. Got to relive a part of my childhood here. 5/5 highly recommend!“

“A fantastic choice for Mexican comfort food, from a typical menu. Large interior, plenty of seating, clean and cozy. Excellent service. Delicious salsa. Tried a few different combination plates, both were very good - flavorful and not bland. Carnitas was delicious.“

“Visiting Palm Springs and looking for some tasty tacos, this is the place. Had the fish tacos, which were packed with flavor and my wife is still raving about carne asada torta she had there. It's a bit small, seating area is very limiting, hence the 4/5 stars but the food makes up for it“

“Spent time here many times, staff and owners are great. So, when it came to time that I needed to hold a function, I turned to the Impala. Jim couldn't have made it easier. Steve helped me get images on the large screen. Play the music required. Believe they don't know the word no.“

“We finally made it to this restaurant for dinner. We sat on the patio and watched a beautiful sunset as we dined. We found the menu had some great selections, but we stuck with some ala carte choices as a way to sample several items. The sopa with beef, the beef taco, and tostada were excellent. The enchiladas and tamale were just average, I'd say. The salsa and chips were a winner ( not too spicy with the salsa). Great pricing and service were additional reasons to come back for more.“

“We came here for a quick dinner after an 8 hour flight from New York. We were looking for an authentic Mexican restaurant and we definitely found probably the best place in Palm Springs. This is not a fancy place, just a weird combination between deli/liquor store with a very clean Mexican Kitchen in the corner. The staff was friendly and everything was new and clean. Birria tacos was my favorite. Amazing Quality/price. Thank you, 100% will come back“
“Hell. Yes. Was visiting from LA and got to craving a burrito and tacos. Had a good feeling about this spot when I came across it on Yelp. It did not disappoint. Little window in a Mexican mini market. Got an asada burrito, shrimp tacos, a birra quesadilla, with a jamaica drink. Incredible. Not a sit down place by any means, the kind of place you get for takeout. But delicious with a friendly staff. Highly recommend.“

“Went had a burrito twice. The first time i had an el pastor burrito, and it was alright felt like the meat needed a little more seasonings, went there another time and had a carne asada burrito and that time it was bomb it 10 out of 1 Everything else looks good there because everytime i go there it always has a steady flow of customers.“

“My husband and I love the food here. I haven't tried very many things on the menu, but the things I have tried I have enjoyed. I'm kinda stuck on the one thing. I get the chicken Tortilla soup pretty much everytime. I make some rice and add it. It makes for a hearty meal. Plus I add a little sour cream. All together it is super yummy. My husband will try different things sometimes. He has also enjoyed everything he has tried. We usually get it as take out and the order is right almost everytime. I kinda don't like eating out or take out as much as I use to because I feel like most places cannot get the order right lately and the way cost have gone up I get really annoyed paying so much for something I don't really enjoy. That is another thing about Tortillas I love, they won't break your wallet. I definitely recommend.“

“This was probably the best meal we had on our visit to Desert Hot Springs. In general we were disappointed in my choice to stay in this area. This restaurant was a bright spot. Clean store, friendly staff, great drinks, and delicious food. If YOU ever make the decision to go to Desert Hot Springs and wonder why once you get there, stop by here, and it will make you feel better.“

“Loved my Cadillac Margarita and ala carte taco! Would have taken a photo but it was so good, I didn't have time. Sitting at their bar is the best! Surpassed my expectations!! How? Salsa and chips were the bomb! Loved the heat from the salsa and it's mild with much flavor. Hate Tex-Mex and this place is so so so much more! Yes, it's on the smaller size however don't let that fool you on the flavor, food or drinks!!“

“Located inside a gas station store, this place is legit. There were 4 of us and we all ordered very different things and they were all way better than you would expect. Standout for me was the breakfast burrito and the menudo was super yummy too!“

“Amazing food. Came here twice in three days… had to come back cause the food was so good. The Burrito was amazing, as were the quesadillas. Our table also ordered 4 flavours of tacos and every single one was amazing (highly recommend the Al Pastor). My only criticism is the ordering process… you have to go up to order from the till and they only have one till so when it’s busy you’re away from your table for a long time queuing waiting to order more drinks / dessert / etc.Dietary restrictions: They were great at accommodating our celiac friend with many Gluten Free options.Wheelchair accessibility: One friend was in a wheelchair. They have many low-top tables where we could just remove a chair and he could sit comfortably.“

Our drinks are a basic Jamaica and Horchata but so delicious!!My kids love the tacos and my spouse, and I grab an asada burrito and asada torta??We always split our food thinking we're gonna be satisfied but always regret not buying seconds. Lol.This is our family Go-To.Would Definitely recommend!!!“

“This definitely isn't a gourmet burger spot, but it's not trying to be. Neither is it a fast-food place. It's a semi-service diner. Order and pay at the counter, and your food is brought to your table (at least when I've been there, when it wasn't super busy). The staff will also refill your drinks and provide needed condiments, etc.I've only been twice. Once for a late breakfast, once for a lunch. The first time I had scrambled eggs and french toast with bacon, and of course, coffee. Pretty decent coffee, in fact. The second time I had a burger, fries, and coke. Both times my meals were really good. The breakfast was like homemade (or better, if you're not great at cooking breakfast), and the burger & fries were like you'd get at a good diner. Both meals were very tasty, and relatively cheap. The breakfast might have been about $10 or $12, but I don't remember for sure. The burger combo, way better than a fast food spot, was $10 and change. And that waswith good, friendly service, with my drinks refilled several times. An absolute bargain!I'm definitely a value oriented guy, so Boy's is definitely on my go-to list for this kind of food.I can't tell you what else is on their menu, besides onion rings that I'll try next time (I'd bet they're great), so check them out for yourselves. I really do expect that everything they serve is really good.“
“So good!! My husband grew up in a palm Springs and we have been enjoying date shakes for 40 years together and have tried them all. The date shakes here are the real deal. They are the only one that uses real dates and ice cream. Not date flakes or ice milk. The pastrami sandwich is so good also and enjoy the peaceful patio. If you see the bus there come back later. It’s a small family store and can get busy“

“Authentic ingredients, great delicious options. This was a recommendation from a close friend. I tried it and lived it. Staff is very friendly and attentative. I felt welcomed and appreciated. Great drinks and a huge selection of mixed drinks. Family oriented. I recommend the Aguachilles.“
“This is really the best Mexican food in Palm Springs. I haven’t tried everything here and my go-to are the fish tacos which are delicious. I’m also a fan of the burritos, especially the shrimp with jalapenos inside. The salsa tastes freshly made. The meat case is good; I’ve purchased the seasoned chicken and asada for the home bbq. I’ve not yet arrived early enough on Saturday in order to try the menudo… I highly recommend Baja Springs.Update-I finally tried the menudo and yummmm! Seems like with new owners, the food got better.“
“Stopped in for flour tortillas to go, but my son and I were starving. We decided to sit in for a a meal. He had the chorizo breakfast burrito, and I had Chile Relleño plate. Super delicious! Reasonably priced for Mexican food in comparison to many fancy Mexican restaurants. The girl who took our order, was very friendly and hospitable. I loved how clean the restaurant was inside, and the decor was simple and inviting. I will definitely go back! I wish I would've taken a picture of the food. Take my word for it, it's really good authentic Mexican food.“

“I’m not sure what they’re doing at this Del taco, but they should be given some type of award, The tacos I just had were absolutely incredible, Obviously, I eat at Del taco a lot. They have franchises all over the country, But for whatever reason whoever’s running, this restaurant is doing an amazing job and if anybody reads these reviews, you guys should be giving these people a raise. I have no idea how the food was so good. The tacos were not good for Del taco. They were good in general. They were like award-winning tacos.“
