“This place is a hidden gem. Delicious authentic Mexican food that has a wonderful happy hour. The menu is not like the bigger places but that's great because they really focus on the food they do serve. The prices are great, the staff are great the service is great! This is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants.“

“This is modern Mexican at its finest. A great assorted of tastes were pretty in an attractive and comfortable setting. Our couch setting had us settling in for a great meal of small, shared plates. Dishes were innovative and thoughtfully prepared. Four of us shared four small plates to start, we had the chicken and red snapper to share as the larger plates and oh, so delicious crispy churros for dessert. These were served with a dulce de leche, hot chocolate and cinnamon ice cream. We were so full and happy! Our waiter was knowledgeable and food paced well. Drinks were also innovative--nice by the glass wine menu, too. We had an orange wine to complement the meal and it was superb.“

“This is one of the best Mexican restaurants that we tried around this area. The service is very friendly. We chose Perlita andLengua En Salsa Verde. Both were delicious. The shrimps were cooked perfectly, tender and tasty. The "beef tongue with the green sauce" is an interesting dish to experience. We were not disappointed at all.“

“Absolutely incredible Mexican food. We had the cauliflower esquites and a mushroom quesadilla. Both were outstanding. Only wish that we had been more hungry, would have been fun to be able to try more things. Will definitely seek this out on my next trip to Palm Springs.“

“We had just flown into Palm Springs so were looking for a light dinner close to our condo. The Cantina had pretty good food although we were fortunate to catch happy hour prices. Even then, a small street taco was $5. It’ll probably take me a while to get used to CA prices again although being part of the Saguaro hotel likely didn’t help. Not sure we’ll go back but it was an overall good experience.“

“This is a go-to spot for lunch time. My favorite is the queso-birria tacos. The nachos are a meal for two. To top this off they are so nice! I’ve had nothing but good experiences from everyone that works in this store. Been stopping in for months and look forward to their flavors.“

“Wonderful place. The owners are welcoming and always interested in input to give suggestions how to improve service. I spoke to Kelle one of the owners today. I didn't eat here, because of an issue initially with separate checks for a group, however in the end the group did get to do separate checks. Will go back to eat in the future because Kelle was so kind to call me.“

“While eating at the neighboring El Salvador Cafe, we saw the bright colors on the patio of Loco Charlie's and decided to dine here for lunch the next day. Beto greeted us and let us select any of the tables inside or outside. After we chose one on the patio, he brought over our waters, a basket of chips and two bowls of salsa. The first serving of chips and salsa comes free, but it's an extra cost if you want a refill. The menu here is so extensive and they offer basically everything (and probably more) than what you'd expect at a Mexican restaurant. Beto recommended the fajitas so that helped me narrow down my decision. Overall, he was super personable and we enjoyed conversing with him, connecting on the topic of the Pacific Northwest. CHICKEN FAJITAS ($21.99): A HUGE serving which I'm sure could easily be two portions for many people. The chicken became a little dry as it continued cooking on the sizzling plate, but it had good flavor from a savory and slightly sweet marinade. The peppers and onions were still somewhat crisp and had developed a nice char. A separate plate contained two tortillas, Spanish rice, refried beans, lettuce, pico de gallo and guacamole. For the price, the amount of food was quite generous. I had enough leftovers to make for a light dinner. If you are in the mood for fajitas, but want a smaller serving, consider getting the Fajita Tacos. It's the fajita meat and vegetables, assembled into taco form, also served with a side of beans and rice. Throughout lunch, Beto provided great service and stopped by a couple times to check on us. The owner, Charlie, was also helping out that day and visited our table to say hello. Everyone in my group was happy with their meals, so I'd consider this a solid spot for Mexican food. Side notes: - There is plenty of parking since the restaurant is located alongside other shops and eateries. - The restaurant is not far from the airport. With planes taking off every few minutes, it is pretty loud, so the patio isn't the best place to hold a conversation.“

“Always a delight, been going here for years, and the food is always delicious, authentic, and served hot and fairly quickly. They recently acquired the space next to them, so there's plenty of room now, and the remodeling is very modern looking - great job!“

“We came here for a quick dinner after an 8 hour flight from New York. We were looking for an authentic Mexican restaurant and we definitely found probably the best place in Palm Springs. This is not a fancy place, just a weird combination between deli/liquor store with a very clean Mexican Kitchen in the corner. The staff was friendly and everything was new and clean. Birria tacos was my favorite. Amazing Quality/price. Thank you, 100% will come back“
“Hell. Yes. Was visiting from LA and got to craving a burrito and tacos. Had a good feeling about this spot when I came across it on Yelp. It did not disappoint. Little window in a Mexican mini market. Got an asada burrito, shrimp tacos, a birra quesadilla, with a jamaica drink. Incredible. Not a sit down place by any means, the kind of place you get for takeout. But delicious with a friendly staff. Highly recommend.“

“Spent time here many times, staff and owners are great. So, when it came to time that I needed to hold a function, I turned to the Impala. Jim couldn't have made it easier. Steve helped me get images on the large screen. Play the music required. Believe they don't know the word no.“

“A fantastic choice for Mexican comfort food, from a typical menu. Large interior, plenty of seating, clean and cozy. Excellent service. Delicious salsa. Tried a few different combination plates, both were very good - flavorful and not bland. Carnitas was delicious.“
“This is really the best Mexican food in Palm Springs. I haven’t tried everything here and my go-to are the fish tacos which are delicious. I’m also a fan of the burritos, especially the shrimp with jalapenos inside. The salsa tastes freshly made. The meat case is good; I’ve purchased the seasoned chicken and asada for the home bbq. I’ve not yet arrived early enough on Saturday in order to try the menudo… I highly recommend Baja Springs.Update-I finally tried the menudo and yummmm! Seems like with new owners, the food got better.“

“Amazing food. Came here twice in three days… had to come back cause the food was so good. The Burrito was amazing, as were the quesadillas. Our table also ordered 4 flavours of tacos and every single one was amazing (highly recommend the Al Pastor). My only criticism is the ordering process… you have to go up to order from the till and they only have one till so when it’s busy you’re away from your table for a long time queuing waiting to order more drinks / dessert / etc.Dietary restrictions: They were great at accommodating our celiac friend with many Gluten Free options.Wheelchair accessibility: One friend was in a wheelchair. They have many low-top tables where we could just remove a chair and he could sit comfortably.“

“Fantastic food and great service in a casual setting.Probably the best Mexican food we’ve had in years. The taco and enchilada combo was large and super tasty. The ambience was very casual and the prices were decent for Palm Springs. The place was no frills, but the service was very fast/friendly and the food so good that we couldn’t prevent ourselves from stuffing our tummy’s despite knowing we’d probably regret feeling so full later. We did feel full for hours, but it was so good, the regrets never came.“
“Pop-up location behind Hair of the Dog. Open late, delicious, reasonably priced. What more could you ask for? Lots of different salsas, all yummy. The Korean tacos are my own favorite; if you can add kimchi to a taco, why wouldn't you?“

“We went for the first time on Saturday night. Seemed pretty busy but we had a reservation. The hostess Adri was very sweet, friendly and efficient. Our waitress was Bernice, she was also very kind with prompt service and good suggestions. Food was good, I had fajitas. Forget what hubby had. Will definitely come back!“

“Fish burrito, fish burrito, fish burrito. You can’t go wrong with this mofo fish burrito. It’s so good.I asked them to add spinach to it to get a bit of veg in the mix, which they did obligingly. Such a friendly place that I never would have found if not for google.“

“Went there on Street Fair Thursday in March 2024. Three of us sat by the street and got to people watch. Portable Heaters helped a lot to make it tolerable in the cool breezy evening. One out of three plates came out wrong. Felt awkward and impolite for us two to start eating, but it was cold and breezy. Still half my Chili Rellano wasn't very warm inside or out. Creamy sauce on top was good but cold. The second half was warmer inside. Tamale was very filling and excellent once I got some sauce to put on it. Had to wait and ask a couple times to a couple waiters for extra salsa for the entrées. Average price was $17 per plate plus drinks.“

“Loved the whole ambience and aesthetic of the restaurant. Service was responsive and friendly and checked on us but didn't intrude. Dinner was delicious - just a bit on the cool side by the time we received our meals. I ordered the shrimp Diavola and this was pretty good, however, the shrimps themselves were just OK and not as warm and crunchy as I would've liked. The garlic toast was overdone. The coleslaw and rice were both nice accompaniments. My family had a seelction of tacos and everyone enjoyed. We liked the guacamole and I was the only one who liked the salsa as it was a bit smokey flavoured for everyone else's tastes. Overall, we would say a bit more upscale than a traditional Mexican and we were happy to try it one time.“
