Tucked inside the smoke tree mall which lends to shaded area on a 108 degree day.

“I've passed by this place the past month and wanted to try it & was finally able to today. It's new to this location, but they had a small spot in cathedral city for 30 years. OMG the Birria tacos!! I ordered 1 and a pork hard shell taco with rice/beans, next time I'm having 3 birrias as the whole meal. So delicious! The husband had carnitas, also delicious. Authentic food made with love, you can taste it. Will be back for sure!“

“I apologize but I have been going to get food at this location ever since they opened. I should have given a review from the start, but I wanted to wait until I truly experienced all of what they have to offer. All I have to say is, AMAZING. Everything from their carnitas tacos to carne asada nachos is the best. I can say I even drink their hot sauce lol. You want food that gives every bang for the buck, you need to go here. “Stopped by Elvira’s Taqueria for lunch after a notary appointment in Cathedral City. The restaurant was very clean, friendly staff and food was made fresh to order. We ordered the 3 quesa birria tacos with consommé plate. They were delicious! The meat was flavorful and shells just the right crispness. The consommé was definitely authentic and very flavorful. The salsa served with the tacos was also delicious I think maybe habanero salsa. It had just enough heat that you could still taste the flavor of the tacos. I will definitely stop by Elvira’s Taqueria next time I am in the neighborhood to try some more of the other menu items! Definitely recommend if you are looking for authentic Mexican food!“

“We heard great things. We were disappointed, even though the food was fine, everything came ala cart. Shrimp burrito had no sides, not even sour cream or pico. They don’t serve alcohol, so no beer or margaritas, though I hear you can eat outside on the patio at the restaurant next door and she will bring your food over. Just not what we were expecting. The menus are old and just had a note at the bottom that the prices have gone up, but even the check didn’t show actual prices, just a total at the bottom. Won’t likely return.“

“Perfect joint to grab some drinks and great Mexican cuisine. They have a full bar and a nice big menu of food. We got the Chilaquilas Con Carne Asada with eggs over medium and red and green salsa. It had the perfect spice and was an extremely big portion. The carne was tender and not chewy. The eggs were also perfectly done. We also tried a veggie omlete that was also cooked to perfection. Fluffy egg, not dry and tasty fresh veggies with fresh slices of avocado. Served with rice and beans that are fresh and delicious. My buddy ordered two Michelada's with Modelo and loved them!! Our waitress was also SUPER friendly and took care of us. Will be back again soon.????

“I had probably the absolute best chicken mole enchiladas I have ever had outside of Puebla Mexico. My partner had a chickpea cerviche which was really yummy. What a surprise accidental find. To me, it's the best Mexican restaurant in the entire valley. The decor is quite pretty.“

“Place had a 20-minute wait for the inside, but immediate service if you sat on the back patio. It was 630p and 108° but the patio is covered and they had some fans for airflow.

Drinks came quickly but omg the speed of the food arriving was incredible! Definitely under 10 minutes. I asked how they got it so fast and the server said "we knew you were coming."

For fun, we decided to order a dessert and take bets on the quickness-- it was delivered in 3 minutes!
