“Still kicking ass after all these years. Definitely one of the best pizzas around. Be warned, closing at 8:30 doesn't mean you can get food until 8:30, that's when they shut the door and go home. More like they want the last to-go order in by 8 and start shutting down the dining room at 7:30-7:45.“

“My quest for the East Bay's best pies led me to June's, and let me tell you, it more than lived up to the hype. The line snaked out of the restaurant on a Saturday evening, but this is no ordinary queue—it's a pilgrimage. With 20 minutes to wait, we found sanctuary next door at Brix Factory Brewing, where we sipped on an IPA and noticed almost every patron had a pizza box on their table. It was a beautiful preview of what was to come.

The pizza itself was a masterpiece. The crust was a perfect blend of chewy and crisp, with just the right amount of char to give it a smoky, rustic finish. It was adorned with elegant ribbons of shaved Parmesan, which cascaded over the top like tinsel on a Christmas tree, along with a scattering of vibrant, fresh basil. But the real stars of the show were the hand-cut pepperoni. These little guys curled into delicious, crispy cups of flavor, cradling pools of savory oil in a way that just makes your soul sing.

I came seeking a pie, and I found a work of art. I will absolutely be back to worship at the altar of June's pizza. Five stars, hands down!“

“Pizza Twist is absolutely fantastic! I have a strict gluten allergy, and Mani (the owner) went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of. He was incredibly accommodating, attentive, and made me feel safe and confident about enjoying my meal. The gluten-free pizza was delicious, fresh, and flavorful—honestly one of the best I’ve had. It’s rare to find a place that truly cares about dietary restrictions while still delivering amazing taste. “New York pizza is hands down the best if you’ve actually had it, and this place is the closest I’ve found in the East Bay. My usual go-to spots were Slice House and Mama Boys, but this tops both of them. The crust and flavor have that classic NY tang and chew I’ve been missing. “We have ordered take-out from this location many times and think the pizza is great. Today we dined in and enjoyed their reasonably priced weekday all-you-can-eat lunch buffet for the first time. For just $15 per person, we had pizza and a delicious salad from their salad bar. It had a wide range of ingredient options including broccoli, egg, olives, cheese, chick peas, sunflower seeds and very fresh lettuce and tomato. There were also at least 3 different types of pizzas available when we were there including a.spicy veg, Hawaiian and pepperoni/sausage. “I've been buying pizza here for 13 years and continue to drive there from Oakland even after leaving Alameda 10 years ago. Tough to find a better pizza because it is always fresh, hot, fairly priced, and the crust is so good. I love the garlic chicken and garlic supreme the most. An amazing dining experience and the best pepperoni pizza I've ever had full stop - Priceless!

My second time here and much more of an intimate experience because I was by myself killing some time before I met friends at the Freight and Salvage.

My pizza was cooked perfectly - just the way I like it with some of the edges of the nickel sized pepperoni's a bit charged and bursting with flavor. The sauce, obviously an old family recipe had been cooking for hours and had a deep rich flavor. And the crust- ohh the crust held up well to the tomato sauce and had a chewy and crisp texture.

The kind young lady who was serving me was confident I could finish the Tiramisu no matter how full I was. She was right.

Matt says if you find yourself headed to downtown Berkeley either for a Cal event or to the Freight and Salvage, be sure to make reservations in advance and feast on some of the best pizza in the Bay Area. It's a small space and fills up fast

“Just want to give a special shout out to the manager, Darron. I get a pizza there once a week, on VIP Mondays when you can get 15% off, and this guy sure treats me like a VIP! I switched from thin crust to deep dish after about a year, and he called to make sure that they got the order right, and called again to make sure they would get my pizza right when I gave some special instructions. I think he even called me once to make sure I didn't forget to order on the VIP Monday! And the pizza is of course delicious and a great deal, so how can you go wrong?!?“
