Ebiko is a quick stop-and-shop in Piedmont, wish fresh sushi, nigiri, sashimi and more! It's mainly for takeout. The service is good and friendly! Mainly just the chefs in the back and hostess/cashier. Since it's a shop without seating, the vibe feels like a convenient store with snacks and drinks as well.

Parking can be a pain, but if you emergency park, I'm sure you'll be in and out under 5minutes.

Overall, great store for sushi and I would always recommend friends to stop by here when visiting!“

“Hard to reserve seats at this 8 seat only Omakase behind an unmarked door in Alameda. Led by a quality, experience, and diner education obsessed chef who personally selects and imports most of the seafood from Japan.

It is a personally catered omakase bar service of very high quality. They also have a lovely sake selection.

“This was the BEST food I've had in years. I sat there and literally closed my eyes so I could savor the experience and feel ever morsel move through my body. We had the Richmond Roll and the Pink Lady. The vegetarian options are so delicious that I am going to go back over and over again just to try everything on the menu. I literally stopped my conversation because I was having such a spiritual experience with the food. I could not focus on anything other than enjoying it. The customer service was incredible. The staff was so friendly and kind. The presentation of the dishes is immaculate. I felt like I was getting a Michelin star quality meal.

“Ok so I have pretty much given up eating sushi cause the quality even at highly rated places seems to be a bit meh now a days. Stumbled on Butterfish last night and I was literally transported back to Japan!
I wish I could give them 10 stars. The food is just exquisite. Just come and try it yourself cause I really won't do justice to it with mere words.
And the best part is you will receive the most hospitalable service which again transports you back to Japan. I wish other restaurants that are allegedly fancy would learn from this service team.

“They do a very good job of creating “sushi” dishes to vegan acceptable options. My family really enjoyed the food as did I. And as others have mentioned the restaurant could do better in terms of atmosphere the tables by the window are ok but anything near the entrance sucks.“

“Heard of this spot via word of mouth. Me a good friend went there and the food was amazing! A personal nitpick was it was too dim, but that’s just a personal preference.

The food was fantastic, service was excellent as well, I forgot to ask the server’s name, but she went out of her way to fix our table that was wobbly. I remember she had a nose septum ring.

Overall, fantastic sushi restaurant, highly recommend the Macha Tres Leche cake if you have room left!“

The prices are extremely fair for this quality of sushi. I think it's honestly worth more, but the lower prices make it more accessible. They have excellent vegetarian and vegan options. Highly recommend spicy crunchy tuna roll, futomaki roll, shitaki maki vegetable tempura, and my partner recommends the white dragon roll.
I have a crab allergy and have never had any issues here.

“Asaka is a friendly neighborhood sushi bar and Japanese restaurant and I enjoyed dinner very much. They were extremely polite and courteous, very good service and food is served quickly.

The restaurant is decorated nicely and has a charming feel to it. Not overly modernized yet a modern feel. Yet also a cozy sushi bar feel. Well done!

Three of us had a couple bento boxes and a nigiri and sashimi combo. Dinner requires three item bento, and the tempura was the star. Nicely battered and fried just right. Chicken teriyaki was chicken teriyaki, if you know what I mean. The California rolls were good… they go the extra mile and mince the imitation crab as opposed to some places that just slice a little chunk. And the spicy tuna roll was not really spicy but tasty enough.

The sashimi and nigiri were very fresh and decently portioned. I prefer smaller and higher quality, which is what they served. They could go a little hotter on the wasabi. Theirs was mild.

And of course miso soup and salad with that sesame dressing I love. Fun meal, great place.“

“My favorite Sushi spot in Walnut Creek!!! It’s amazing here. I get the premium omakase and hand rolls every time. (Usually spicy tuna or salmon). The fish is super fresh and my favorite nigiri is the otoro of course.

They have some rolls there that are pretty good as well. The pacific roll is one of the ones we always get. But you can’t go wrong with all the others. Just pick the one with fish you like and it will taste so good.

Also the staff is so friendly and attentive. It’s worth it every time we go :)“

“Wife and i snuck out of the house for an impromptu snack and we happened upon Yoni. Not really a roll person as I don’t like the compact feeling of my ingredients. Doesn’t really let the ingredients shine, especially delicate ingredients. But hey this $100 quarterly resy credit was expiring so why not. However at yoni Handrolls it’s different the rice isn’t smashed in with the ingredients. Not only can the ingredients shine but the rice pellet itself still retains that soft texture like in a nigiri. Excellent. Will try again.“

“Located where the old outback used to be, this is great for someone like myself who lives in the area and wants decent sushi. The rolls aren't huge but I like that so I can order/try a variety of rolls. Lunch is $25 and dinner is $40 if I'm not mistaken. The staff is so nice and attentive. Everyone helps out and the food comes very fast. Good quality sushi with fried options and good appetizers. The only thing I would skip next time is the ice cream. Other than that I will be back!“

“Hidden gem in El Cerrito, food was tasty and served promptly. We had beef appetizer, miso soup, nigiri tuna an yellow tail, suno mono and regular salad. The suno mono was good, but not as great as the other dishes. Our waitress was very attentive and smiled a lot, that’s probably just how people from Nepal are. “It is rare that I say a sushi restaurant, much less in Oakland, is good but this place is hands down the best sushi spot I’ve tried in the bay so far. The cute waitress was friendly and was very attentive with everything I asked for. The sushi itself felt really fresh and the hand rolls were very tasty.

My only critique is that their spicy mayo is too much mayo and not enough spicy. I would like it to have more of a kick.

The bathroom was immaculate. This would be a great date spot. I’m a single guy but this would be a great place take a date. The interior is cozy and intimate and the sushi area has a cute pink color.

“I came here with my friends while we were on a field trip and the atmosphere was super cozy, they had good R&B playing and it was lowkey aesthetic. I had the dragon roll, my friend had the sushi bae roll and we both shared the philly roll. We really liked the sushi and we finished it super fast. The staff was super sweet and super awesome, then when they told us about the pictures that they took for their poloroid wall, my friends and I were super excited. We had a really nice experience here and it was very hospitable. I will definitely be back when I have my next field trip in Oakland. Loved it!“

“I come twice a month. This place is my go to for Japanese comfort food. I love the gyudon just the way they prepped it. Saucy, sweet and savory just like I remember from childhood in Asia. We got there right at 11am, and it's a cute little place. Felt like we were in Japan based off the decor! The place is small, right when you walk in the main area where the sushi bar is at you may be able to have 18 people in this room at the most! There is another side that has some seating. So definitely not a place for large groups! The service was on point, gentlemen making the sushi was very kind but when we asked to split or check per item, he was confused. He replied if I wanted to split it evenly and I said no I'd like it to be split per item of what each person ordered and it was like I was speaking a different language to him. He was able to figure out what I meant but this is the only negative thing I would say, don't assume people are on the same check. Staff need to make sure they ask prior to combining checks to save the confusion for the future. Also another side note, it is Berkeley and this location is located and what looks to be the ghetto. I am not from that area at all but do not let the location deceive you. This is a very good place! Prices are reasonable for the size of the sushi rolls. Average price is roughly $16 per roll and you get eight pieces out of each roll. If back in the area we'll definitely go back.

“First time dining in at this place that replaces a previous Chinese Vietnamese restaurant that we used to frequent.

It’s almost like a ghost kitchen in the sense that they have Japanese food (Sachi sushi) and dim sum (Yue Club) operating under a joint name of Saga Kitchen.

The sashimi was alright, though they gave us a bonus of a tuna belly which was delicious.

Sabro plate - ground beef and scrambled egg was not what we were looking for. The ground beef lacked any taste as it felt like straight up ground beef. So not something we would order again. Got it with Ebi tempura but it tasted like those frozen shrimp tempura - know it since I have taste palate that has allowed me to differentiate them, and food sensitivity to also differentiate fresh water from salt water shrimp - theirs is certainly fresh water.

Char shu ramen was delicious. Noodles had a slight chewy texture and the soup was tasty. The charshu, and poached eggs were right on and delicious.

Tonkatsu was ok. A little on the drier side compared to our favorite Tonkatsu places.

The cool robot food runner was fun and entertaining for the kids.

The fabric seats were discomforting as there’s just so much stains on it that it felt nasty seating on it - we changed immediately when we got home.“
