“Hawaiian plate lunches until 2am? Yes, you'll find it here at SH Hawaiian & Donuts. I was doing a search for late night eats, and SH Hawaiian BBQ came up and a lover of all things Hawaiian food, I knew I had to check it out. When I went to order, I asked what their most ppl Hawaiian dish was, and they recommended the BBQ Mix plate. This plate will run you about $15.99 and it comes with short ribs, chicken, beer, plus rice and mac salad. The portion size is generous and easily can turns this into two meals worth. All the meats were flavorful and came with a side of a teriyaki sauce. The chicken was probably my favorite of them all, just your classic Hawaiian style bbq chicken. Aside from the meats, the mac salad was hella good. I honestly wish I got two scoops of mac instead of two scoops of rice. I could eat that mac salad all day every day. I dined in, and so glad I did. They have these pickled/vinegar jalapenos at the table, and I could've eaten the whole jar. So good with every bite, and highly recommend trying them out. If you are a fan of Hawaiian plate lunches and/or looking for a late night meal in Palo Alto, this is definitely a spot to check out.“
“Really a hidden gem! I have passed this restaurant so many times and never went in. This Turkish food is amazing! There is an option you can sit outside and grill your food in front of you. The meat or kebab sticks sells about $9 per piece, so depending on how many you eat, you pay less or more. The tables are for 8 people but they can also join them for larger groups.I loved the shift kebab. Baklava was amazing, the service was great. They also offer fresh squeezed orange juice.Yummy!“
“It was my first time to eat in this restaurant. I read the reviews online for a long time before trying it today. The two male waiters who entered the store were very enthusiastic and friendly. They even prepared warm water for us when we asked for it. The spiciness of the barbecue was also very suitable. People like the fat intestines and chicken clavicle the most.?“
“Stumbled upon this spot because my girlfriend and I were looking for a quick take out place. We found parking really close and ordered through a tablet. We got our food in 15 minutes! We got the spam musabis, chicken katsu and bbq chicken plate and the short rib chicken bbq plate. The portions are huge and the service was really nice. They also gave us a stamp card so after ten orders you get one for free! Definitely will be coming back.“
“Higher-end, likely one of the best Korean BBQ places in Silicon Valley! Stylish decoration and ambiance are appropriate for the cuisine and culture. Good service with refills on side dishes. Beyond the barbecue, a-la-carte items are good also with no skipping on the ingredients!“
“The food was very good. I have never been to Caribbean to compare the authenticity of this place…but I was more than satisfied. There is limited parking and seating…which is the only downfall.Parking: There are only a few spots. Most of them are painted green as well (15 minutes).“
“By far the best tasting bbq in the Bay Area. Not only is the food great but the staff are ridiculously friendly. Gregory is the nicest guy. When we showed up towards the end of the day he went out of our way to accommodate our order even though they had run out of some of the popular meats and sides.“
“Cocurry was here forever, but even the last time we came, it wasn't the same. Kong Sarang, on the other hand was hopping! The place quickly filled up after we arrived. That always happens to us. We ordered the seafood pancake and the combo of pork belly and tofu soup. They quickly served us with 8 varieties of banchan. I was a tad disappointed that we didn't get asked like the tables around us if we wanted any refills on the banchan. I felt like once we ordered and our food came out, we turned into red-headed step-children, and they forgot about Dre. The food was good. Comparable to Tofu House in Newark. The seafood pancake was hefty. She's a big girl. One could get full just off of that. We probably would return if in the mood for Korean food.“
“My mom and I came to visit 2/28/24 and neither of us have had authentic Korean BBQ before. We were both so blown away. Everything was delicious and you could tell the owner truly cared about his restaurant and every dish that came out. He recommended the bulgogi japchae, the sweet and spicy chicken, and the potstickers. (Sorry for not getting exact names right) I ordered the soy garlic chicken as well. Let me tell you, that is the best fried chicken I’ve ever had. Every bite was crispy, juicy, and flavorful and all of the other sides were delicious as well. I am so glad we found this place and my mom and I truly had a great night. Thank you so much for your kindness and we will be back :)“
“Scrumptious BBQ meats(you decide which one, or two, or more)& sides. Really good selections of sauces, and swift efficient service. Staff was great about checking in tooParking available, and good choice of heated indoor or outdoor seating“
“The food is great, the problem could be that your food may sit there on the window from the kitchen waiting for it to be given to you for a while, and it does get cold… so you may need to monitor once it is there to try and get it picked up…Other than that, is a nice place…“
“Regular spot when I'm in the bay. Long wait time is normal during dinner. Just make sure you check and join the waitlist on yelp. Lots of options for AYCE. The food came out insanely fast just a couple of minutes after taking the order with the pad.Lastly, it's 2024 and still a bunch of uneducated peeing on toilet seats #SMH #animals“
“Dont miss a visit here. Lovely food with ample very fresh veggies and condiments. We enjoyed giant prawns with kung pao sauce, beef pho and teriyaki chicken (low sodium option is flavorful with a delicate sauce). All wonderful and plenty left to take home. We lunched at the patio cafe tables under umbrellas. Proprietor was fun and engaging too.“
“A group of us go for trivia on Wednesdays and we love the vibe! The trivia is a great mix of difficult and doable questions which makes it fun. The staff is friendly, the owner came up and introduced himself the first time we went in and now stops by to our table to say hi. They have a little kitchen that they rent out (I think) and the food that they serve is yummy! not sure if they've changed the menu since I was last in, but they didn't have chicken as a meat for the tacos which was a bummer since I don't eat red meat/pork.“
“Another terrific find! This came to my attention when they catered my hospital's event. It was delicious! I have visited a few times dining both in and outdoors. The staff were friendly and engaging. While the prices aren't the lowest, you definitely get your money's worth and more. On my most recent visit, I tried the on-tap beer and even got to sample the brisket burnt ends...YUM!“
“I love this place as it offers one of the best Selections of Sizzling plates. You may choose your own type of meat (chicken-beef-fish with a side of veggies) or add on an appetizer.I also loved their hawaaiian plate with BBQ galbi, rice and macaroni. My ultimate favorite here is Beef Kimchi sizzling plate, calamari, walnut shrimp and crispy chicken, mango green tea, basic crispy french fries, etc.But im not a fan of potstickers though.Plus this place is super clean, with a clean bathroom as well.Servers are very attentive and approachable.I will definitely try other snacks and dish next time“
“I came here with my girlfriend for soondubu and dolsot bibimbap. It was pretty good, and there's a generous variety of side dishes. However, they give you plain white rice with your soondubu rather than the preferred purple rice. Also, they won't voluntarily refill your side dishes.“
“We were not the most organized group of people when we came here. No one knew what they wanted we were a decently sized group and it took a while to get everything explained and handled. Their treatment of us was amazing they seemed to go out of their way to assist us and to be patient with us. The food was good I would definitely highly recommend coming here! Again the service was top-notch the kind of service that I appreciate when I go out to eat! Keep up the great work and if you are in the area go visit them!“
“3.5 STARS Date: Saturday, April 6th, 2024 Time: 3pm Meal: Birthday Late Lunch / Early Dinner Part of: 6 Reservation Made: via Yelp about 1.5 weeks earlier Dinner BBQ & Hot Pot ($37.99) x6 *Japanese Miso *Healthy Herb x2 *Thai Pot: Vegan Spicy x3 *Pork Belly x2 *Ribeye x4 *Spicy Pork Belly *Pork Belly x2 *Pork Jowl x2 *Garlic Shrimp x2 *Galbi Marinated Short Rib x6 *Seapot Angus Beef x2 *Beef Tongue *Steam Rice x3 *J Lohr Cabernet 2019: 375ml ($23) *Sapporo Pitcher ($25) *Original Bottle Soju ($13) *Peach Bottle Soju ($13) *18% Tip ($54.35) For a friend's bday, we decided to do a late lunch at Seapot. I believe on weekends they are open all day and the dinner price applies all day as well. Tip was automatically added to the bill, but I think that was because we were a party of 6? I do adore Seapot for their conveyor belt offerings. I tend to like variety. And I gravitate towards a lot of veggies and seafood. So it's nice they are readily avail in small portions. I don't feel like I have to eat a portion of veggies for the whole table if no one else wants some. Also, super convenient since we don't have to wait for the server to bring those items out. Meat wise (and some seafood), you have to order thru the server. And there's a time limit of 90 mins. Unfortunately this took a while, so we were only able to order one round before the server came back for last call. For bigger parties, they should give two hours as that's not enough time to cook and eat everything. (We still had uncooked plates when they came back for last call.) There's only one grill at a table for 6. It's definitely not enough time to get your korean bbq on. For an AYCE place, this was one of the first times I didn't really leave full. Drinks wise, we had a red wine drinker, so we tried to order a bottle of red wine. The first bottle, they were out, so I asked about two other bottles. They were out of those too. He could only offer a bottle we didn't want, so we ended up with a half bottle of something we originally asked about. Corkage here is $25, while the average bottle was around $40-$50, so it didn't seem worth it to cork anything. I think if we had a smaller party, it would have been fine. But for a larger party, I don't think it's worth coming here. The time limit isn't really enough to take advantage of the AYCE.“
“We had a great time here. Got greeted by the hosts with great hospitality. The ambiance atmosphere was great. The restaurant was decorated with cozy and warm theme. The food was very good. Tasty banchan. Delicious and warm tofu stew. The bibimbab had the right flavors. At the end of the meal, the host brought two rice cracker packs and one special probiotic drink for my baby. Thank you!Vegetarian options: They have vegetarian dishes.Kid-friendliness: Kid’s high chairs and utensilsWheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair entrance and tables“
“Niki-niku, cook meat and shrimp at each table. Fresh and tasty. A few choices already cooked. Some salad and several veggie items. Large choice, various cuts of meat from which to choose. Small plates so fun to taste various dishes. The chicken wings are crisp and delicious. Cold air helps to mediate the heat of the grill. Glad I had a jacket. Service helpful and there when you need them.“
“Seafood Tofu is pretty good. I always get spicy for my soup and they make it spicy enough for the kick and not overpowering. The broth had the right taste of the cooked seafood of shrimp and clams. They add on egg that pretty much cook though so breaking the yolk wasn't possible. Maybe I'll ask them to stir it next time or leave it out. It comes with purple rice and add an order of spicy cucumber cause I didn't see Kim Chi on machine to order. I'd definitely be coming back.“
“My wife and I have gone to this hidden gem restaurant several times. I took two friends for lunch today and both thought that the food was delicious. The BBQ is award winning! The portions are big as well. We got to meet Ryan the co-owner and pit master today who was very welcoming. I've posted pictures of the 3 St. Louis style ribs, brisket sandwich and caleb's cracklins. The BBQ plate orders come with choice of two sides and a roll. The sandwich comes with choice of one side.“
“Food here is delicious and you get large portions for the price. Usually takeout but recently came with 6 other people for lunch. Courteous staff and prepared food in timely manner. My go to place for chicken katsu plate, bowl, or musubi. Katsu sauce is not my thing so when I ask them to leave it out they always get it right. Wish the containers were compostable though.“
“Small chain BBQ. I still love it. If you like American BBQ, you'll like it. Everything is great on menu. Great place for burgers. Great ribs and other traditional BBQ dishes. Great sides. Good for take out or dine in. Fast for dinning in since there's no waiters and you pick up your own food. A few TVs on the wall. Big portions of food. A few BBQ sauces with condiments.“
“Surprised at how good the food was. We tried this place many years ago after a trip to Hawaii expecting it to be the same as we got in Hawaii. I remember at that time we didn't return because it wasn't the same (probably not surprising). My son said he wanted to go here for dinner and I reluctantly agreed. This time I enjoyed the food and liked the reasonable price. I got the "BBQ beef" and want to go back for the chicken katsu. I didn't have the same expectation about the food that I did with our first visit many years ago. Whatever type of food (cooking style) is served at L&L it's tasty in its own right.“
“Writing this review as I sit finishing my wine after a full three delicious courses. I’m visiting a friend in Mountain View and had to fend for myself for dinner this evening. I couldn’t have picked a better place (apart from the Italian I discovered last night - but that’s totally different)! Do not miss the ribs wrapped in bacon to start, then I had melt in your mouth brisket as part of a plate (amazing corn bread!) and I just couldn’t resist the Nanana dessert despite feeling pretty full. Absolutely ace place. Yours truly, a London girl.“
“Pretty good place for a beer and a burger. I had the burger panini and side salad and I highly recommend the side salad if you are tired of fries. Service for us was good and the food met expectations. I had the bread pudding for desert and it was pretty good.“
“Came for a mid length lunch and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the fried chicken. Was quite tasty, and I have already recommended this place to friends. I had the secret sauce half and half and the fries were very tasty. Also came with two dumplings which were a pleasant extra surprise.“
“Great spot for Korean inspired meat plates and sandwhiches!Definetly recommend! The spicy chicken isn’t crazy spicy, it’s sweet and spicy just to the right amount. The rice has some beans inside too which makes it extra good!Vegetarian options: YesDietary restrictions: Ask the staff, but not easily visible on menuParking: 10 or so spots.Kid-friendliness: YesWheelchair accessibility: Yes“
“This place is really nice. It's not perfect, but it's good for the price; the food is good, and the service is nice. You can get your own banchan (sides) but it's not always the same banchan available (and again, ymmv when it comes to quality depending on your taste). My favorite cuts are the pork belly (we really like the Hawaiian Pork Belly and the Garlic Pork Belly), pork jowl (cheek), and beef bulgolgi (again, the Hawaiian one is great). Also good are the shrimp and the baby octopus, we had both the regular and the spicy for both seafood.“
“My boyfriend and I always come to this place whenever we crave skewers. There's no fancy decoration, it's just like eating at a house of a Chinese family. But, their skewers are really good. I do love the eggplant and steamed bun slices. It's a small mom-and-pop restaurant. They always try to communicate with us in English as much as they can. And they always welcome us. One thing that I like is that it opens until 1AM. So whenever we are hungry and want spicy skewers, we always come to this place. I wish they keep this business as long as they can.“
“I recently had the pleasure of dining at an amazing Mongolian BBQ restaurant and it was a truly exceptional experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm and friendly service. The restaurant had a cozy and inviting atmosphere, with beautiful decor and comfortable seating. The highlight of the evening was the Mongolian BBQ itself. The selection of fresh ingredients was impressive, with a wide variety of meats, vegetables, and sauces to choose from. The chefs were skilled and attentive, cooking each dish to perfection right in front of me. The flavors were absolutely incredible, with each bite bursting with deliciousness. What really set this restaurant apart was the attention to detail and exceptional customer service. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that every guest was well taken care of. They were knowledgeable about the menu and gladly provided recommendations. The wait staff was prompt and attentive, making sure that our glasses were always full and our needs were met.Overall, my experience at this Mongolian BBQ restaurant was truly unforgettable. The combination of delicious food, exceptional service, and inviting atmosphere made it a 5-star experience. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who appreciates great food and outstanding hospitality. I can't wait to go back and experience it all over again!~Sincerely a group of 6 food lovers!“
“Great service, great food. Order a 3 meat plate with pulled pork, brisket and baby back ribs. The brisket and the pulled pork was an amazing and the ribs was ok. As a side, I ordered a mac & Cheese and potato salad and both were delicious. Highly recommend this spot.Kid-friendliness: They have a table games for the kids and the environment is very welcoming“
“5/5 for food and service. Very authentic Chinese style BBQ. The decoration is cool and they have a lot of fun choices of alcohol drinks. One thing I hated was the somewhat mandatory tip for singer. They charge a $2 tip each person if there’s a singer in the restaurant. I would be OK paying for it. HOWEVER, they also allow customers to sing on the stage. So what it turned out was a louder and louder karaoke of some random customers, and the paid singer was just sitting somewhere chilling. I had a loud noise alarm on my watch sitting in this environment, couldn’t hear any conversation, and the singer or the waiters didn’t control the situation until I asked them. They did take the $2 ridiculous “tipping” charge off my bill after I complained, but this is just a unreasonable charge to start with.“
“Excellent service from David. We go to Gen often and order the same items every time. We wanted to try something new, and David hooked it up. He recommended the Honey Soy Beef Belly, then wrap it in radish paper. That easily became our favorite. If you get David, ask him for a recommendation, he knows what's good!P.S. David showed us the crazy sauce. Try it out.“
“Tried the soft tofu (fish egg) for the first time and was amazed with it. Also the supplement dishes on the table were amazing without exception. Note: medium spice is good enough, anything higher might overwhelm you but decide for yourself of “
