“The food is spectacular. I ordered the pho Tom yum ( chicken)Was nice and savoy, not spiceyIt doesn't have that " thai style" tom yum flavor.Shrimp spring rolls are delicious. Topped with the peanut sauce ( very good not vinegary).Pork sandwhich: the pork was very delightful, wasn't tough or dry. It was very filling. Definition of freshness. The drinks:Matcha latte ( hint of matcha/ more of a milky flavor.Honey lemon green tea( is very sweet, so beware)I can't wait to return.“
“If you’re in the mood for wings look no further, this is the spot! Everything from the atmosphere and greeting when walking into the shop to enjoy the insanely incredible food was truly just a top notch experience. I have never been the biggest fan of dry rub wings but the Pekang is so out of this world, my mind was blown by the flavor profile - it was a top two next to the sweet & spicy garlic! The spicy Cambodian dirt, spicy elephant, and water buffalo were also damn delicious and unique in their own respects. Couldn’t forget the garlic noodles and fried rice which hit it out of the park too!! I honestly can’t wait to go back!“
“The Real Deal. From the hot and sour soup to the orange chicken, honey walnut shrimp, garlic green beans, eggplant, lo mein, it’s got it all-we’ve been twice after a Kings game and have not been disappointed- we over order just to get the variety of flavors in our mouths. The food is fantastic, the staff is genuine and gets the importance of hospitality.“
“I decided to try this place out since a friend recommended it while I was in Little Tokyo. I honestly didn’t have any expectations for an udon place because I’ve had udon at the Marugame Udon chain and expected something similar. Let me tell you that this place elevates their udon to the next level. The mentai udon was easily one of my favorite meals during my trip to LA. The sauce was creamy, savory, and sweet with the perfect balance. The umami from the mentai and shrimp complements the sauce so well. It wasn’t too rich and was just right. I slurped up all of the sauce it was that good. Highly recommend and would come back. Service was also very attentive and kind.“
“What can I say? This neighborhood sometimes doesn’t feel like home but it’s places like Joy that really help change that. First of all the cashier is attentive, the servers are friendly, fast and efficient. This place has amazing staff and food. The prices are also reasonable and their menu is relatively easy to understand. I had the joy special which came with an appetizer, small soup and a sandwich and iced tea. I chose the pork belly sandwich and it was so delicious the bread was so soft and I wanted to buy a roll of it. I also got the wonton soup which was so flavorful as well. I wasn’t a fan of the seaweed salad but everything else exceeded my expectations. I want to come back to try different menu items but this place is definitely top tier. Parking is a bit tricky but I suggest coming on a weekday when there is less people.Parking: There’s a paid lot in the back of the hardware store“
“A bit pricey, but it's an excellent Pho restaurant. Food are really delicious ? Parking might be difficult. Tiny plaza with narrow parking spaces. But people come and go quickly... I took out 1 ⭐ for their parkings. Really hate their parking.“
“Wanted to try this place since it's in my backyard and surprise to find that their pho is delicious and comparable to some pho places from Westminister. The price is lower than most pho places in 626 but the meat portion is less. It makes me satisfied that I was able to finish the bowl though. The proportion is just perfect for people who just want to feel satiated. The service is great! The man who serves there is always smiling and friendly to their customers. He even explained that they don't put MSG on their broth which is even better for me! If you want to try the Oxtail Pho come early because they sold out at night. Although I prefer their Filet Mignon Rare Steak more than the Oxtail Pho. I hate ordering pho for to go so if you need a spot where it's quick and easy this is the perfect place.“
“My go-to spot in Chinatown Los Angeles for Pho!Very quick prompt service. This place tends to get filled with hungry, happy customers pretty rapidly.Don't worry, just tell them your party size and they'll get to you sooner rather than later. IT'S DEFINITELY WORTH THE WAIT! With quick service, you'll be seated in no time.I've been coming here since, like 2012.There is street parking and some parking lots around. So you have the luxury of choosing your perfered parking. Basically, there's free parking and paid parking all around the restaurant.Treat your stuff to some amazing Pho, and lasty, don't forget about the spring rolls with peanut sauce for appetizers !My girlfriend is vegetarian, so she ordered #22 on the menu: vegetarian tofu with rice noodles or egg noodles. Size small or regularI ordered the #15: well done brisket, fatty brisket, tendon, and tripe. Size largeWe prefer to get the rice noodles!Vegetarian options: #22 on the menu is vegetarian tofu with rice noodle or egg noodle Pho“
“Authentic Chinese food specializing in noodles. Beef and pork on the limited menu, no chicken.House special fried noodles with pork was excellent. Also had pork meatballs and cilantro pork dumplings. All excellent and a nice proportion.Only 6 tables, luckily 1 available when we arrived at 1:20 pm. We will come back.“
“BEST Taiwanese beef noodle soup hands down! I've never been wow'd by Taiwanese beef noodle soup and this place was a first! They're a small shop but has some big tables for large groups. Food:- House special braised beef noodle (5/5): the soup is PACKED with flavor. Tendon is so soft. Noodle is perfectly cooked. - Braised pork rice (4/5): tender pork. Not too flavorful. Decent dish overall- Pig ears with red oil (4/5): on the less crunchy side but good flavor- Red oil wontons (2/5): both the wontons and chili oil lacked flavor“
“If you haven’t been here before the setup might be confusing. You should head all the way to the back, go to the cashier, tell him the number of people, get a table number from him, and then get a bowl and start putting stuff you want in the bowl. The bowl is weighed and charged by the pound, but you don’t pay until you’re done eating. Then you hand the bowls to the cashier to order what type of soup you want. They hand you order numbers and you go to your table and just wait for them to bring you food. You can also make sauces at the sauce station. When you’re finished, bring your bowls back to the front and pay. Also note that you get one tong for picking up all the foods, so if cross contamination is a concern or you have food allergies, this might not be the best place to go.The lady in the front was not helpful and just shouted Chinese at us and acted like we were in her way for not knowing the rules. Some of the customers tried to help us too, but they should really just post the rules outside the store or in front of the front door to help newcomers. I think if you look East Asian, they will assume you speak Mandarin, so you should mention that you don’t speak it to clear the air. The rest of service was fine and nice, just the initial confusion didn’t feel very good.“
“Second visit in a week.Hands down the best pho I have ever had. I believe that they use real bone broth (not the powder), so I can tase the umami, didn’t even have to put any garnish in the pho. Also, the fish sauce fry is a must try, can’t find it elsewhere.“
“we had a great experience here at lunchtime yesterday. good options for veggies, really tasty ramen. the service especially was fantastic - as soon as we came in with my baby daughter, the waitress brought a high chair and even an age-appropriate sippy cup full of water which i was so impressed by. amazing friendly team!“
“I've eaten here multiple times and the food has always been stellar - if I could rate higher than 5* I would. I particularly love the 然面 and 担担面 but you truly can't go wrong here. Just don't forget to mix your noodles 18 times! Truly one of my favourite spots in SGV and a place I'll continue to visit “
“The best bowl of beef pho you can find in Compton! the broth Is cooked perfectly.. also love the chili oil & wontons. it's a family owned business I usually order takeout and the temperature is always consistent And food always up to par.“
“This is an INCREDIBLE place! I love the beef noodles, eggplants, tofu, the fish, the chicken, the desert, etc!! We had a blast eating, hanging out, chatting, and the food added so many enjoyable layers to our conversations on Oscars, filmmaking, art, and beyond! THANK YOU ALL for making our afternoon and evening and giving us energy to keep going and pursuing our dreams???☀️?Kid-friendliness: Very friendly!;)“
“Excellent Ramen, Kyushu Style Noodles (thin and not overcooked) The Soup was unexpectedly delicious, inspired to the Tonkotsu Pork Broth. I lived in Japan two years and this the first time I find something so authentic, comparable to the Original Japanese Ramen. Overal Super Recommended!!!“
“Best beef noodle soup that is sanitary! I say this because there are some very yummy shops in SGV for beef noodle soup but your stomach would not appreciate them. Really generous with the meat and tendons. The broth is amazing and tastes super authentic. There can be a wait if you come around noon on weekends where they get the lunch rush. I would come here right after they open to dodge the wait. I overheard roughly 30 minutes wait when I was leaving so not sure how bad it could get. They also accept Apple Pay, credit cards, debit cards, and obviously cash.I genuinely love this place!! They also have 椰果奶茶(coconut milk tea??) that tastes reminiscent of 五十嵐in Taiwan (50 lan/Wushiland, but the coconut drink isn’t sold in their US locations). A bit sweet but maybe they can adjust it down. I just watered mine down and it tasted great.“
“We went for dinner on the earlier side with four adults and four kids. It was delicious! The staff were kind and accommodating. We got the rice bowl, noodle bowl both with ground pork, my brother got the Taiwanese beef bowl and he loved it. The kids liked the plain noodles, and it's nice you can add sides like egg and bok choy. The pot stickers are nice too. Everyone enjoyed the food! Really good and would love to go back soon.“
“Read about this place in the paper. Bae and I are always saying things like "we should explore the culinary delights of the sgv" but are often intimidated because we don't speak Chinese and have little familiarity with the cuisine beyond the white people Chinese restaurants of our respective coasts (she east, me west). We ordered from the internet even though we were there because we had our dog with us. The noodles were extremely, extremely good, the other ingredients (beef, chicken, veggies) were pretty standard. If i was to return I just get noodles straight up, I feel like the other stuff just distracts from the main event. Bae couldn't eat hers because she comes from a place (new england) where people say stuff is too spicy because there is PEPPER in the dish. Like, the pepper you have at your house. I cooked a dish with pepper once and her mom wouldn't eat it for that reason. Also the service was good, they actually called us because they were out of something we ordered and wanted to make sure they gave us a refund or something else.Unless you are a monster two people can split one dish here, any dish. If you order more than one dish per two people left overs are a given. Also, we drove around for an hour before we got home and the food was still warm.Vegetarian options: Noodles! Tofu!Dietary restrictions: Gluten!Parking: Free lot in the shopping plaza but lots of venerable people entering and exiting so be careful. Free street parking out front.Kid-friendliness: YesWheelchair accessibility: Yes“
“It was my first time coming here and let me tell you it's amazing. The portions are good and the service and atmosphere is super friendly. Such nice people helping you out. I would definitely be coming back here again. Their thai tea is a must to get!“
“I love this place. I've been going since I was a little kid (that was 20+ years ago). The staff and service is always so friendly and attentive. I love their Bún Chả Giò Chay. It's my regular order! They have a solid selection of Vegan Vietnamese food and very affordable prices. If you're looking for real Vietnamese Vegan food, this is the spot!“
“Refined and elegant Cantonese food that highlights ingredients like duck, beef, and pork to take it to the next level. Amazing service from the whole team made it a lovely experience for our family of 4. We look forward to coming back soon!“
“Yoma is a delightful "hole in the wall" serving scrumptious Burmese food. As a newbie to the cuisine, I find myself taken with the rich flavors and satisfying textures. Some of my favorites include the tea leaf salad, fried tofu, and goat curry. My server was friendly and helpful, guiding me towards specialty dishes, and sharing a complementary dessert. Yoma's setting might not be fancy, but the experience is like enjoying a home-cooked meal - not to be missed.“
“Denny is enough of a reason to go here as any! Great service and he's someone who clearly cares about his customers (checking in with everyone and even helping someone retrieve their phone from an Uber). The atmosphere was comfortable - not fancy, but homey. I'm veg, so not the best judge of the food (I heard the beef soup noodles were great), but I enjoyed the food as well.“
“2023.09.16 \First visit/Originally, I wasn’t very interested in eating noodles in LA, but Flavor Noodles changed my mind. This time I ordered fatty beef noodles in sour soup, Sichuan style fat intestine noodles, and red oil noodles. I can’t choose which one is more delicious, I like them both! Looking forward to ordering something else on my next visit that I didn't have the stomach for this time.2024.01.09\Second interview/I finally had the opportunity to visit for a second time, but today I was a bit disappointed. I ordered beef noodles with raw pepper, Sichuan-style fat intestine noodles, and red oil noodles. The Chao Shou was more delicious than the last time I had it, but the taste of both bowls of noodles was a bit bland. Last time the sausage was very full, but today it looks thin. The beef noodles with raw pepper are quite spicy. Will be willing to visit again to see if today was just an anomaly, but will order back the beef noodles in sour soup next time.Recommended: Fatty Beef Noodles in Sour Soup“
“Ordered the non-spicy beef noodle soup (hand-cut) and added my own level of heat. Nice broth. Wish I had seen their cold drinks lineup before getting my green tea order from the bakery. Will try their milk green tea next time along with some other dishes (lamb, cold noodles).Nice sitting area shared with the hot deli. Reasonable prices and solid portions. The lady that took my order is nice & served the food to my table. Unexpected and much appreciated!“
“Very interesting place , the food is top notch , they served you super well portions and the flavor is super , the lady that welcomes you is a character in a good way , is super nice and attentive, but with a little hyper crazy personality... their only fault is place needs to be a little more organized as you can see boxes and tables for storage and plain view ... but overall a good place ... that tea wasn't that good either ( super hot be careful)“
“A very small Thai restaurant but great food. There isn't a very big parking lot in the back but you can find parking nearby on the streets. There also isn't many tables inside so that is why the wait times get so long. Luckily, we came at a good time and didn't have to wait. The employees are friendly and have good service too.We ordered the pad thai, pad see ew, chicken satay, khao soi. The satay was okay but I really liked the pad thai and pad see ew. However, the portions are a bit on the smaller side for the price. One dish is barely enough for one person. But I guess the size is good for trying different dishes with friends.“
“This place has the best pho in the area handsThe customer service is dopeThe owner is always very welcoming and his recommendations always hit the spotThere’s endless veggies for your phoI love this place always but best for rainy daysI definitely recommend this spotParking: There’s street parking and public parking lots in the behind areas of pacific , how everI’ve always found street parking right up front of the spot or within a couple of feetKid-friendliness: Yes it’s kid friendlyThe owner is very friendly and accommodating“
“Walked in on a Saturday night - it wasn't too busy and we were seated immediately. We ordered the Choose 3 Combination (M), Kimchi Cold Noodle, and Beef Tartare. Service was fast and the staff were great! The Kimchi Cold Noodle was super refreshing and cuts the fattiness of the intestine. The beef tartare was also very fresh and a generous portion. There were only 2 of us so we had a lot of leftovers to take home haha. A solid gobchang spot!“
“Wait for a table was fine, didn't take that long. The interior was very nice and clean. Food was yummy. Only complaint that I have is that all of the food didnt arrive at the same time. One person in my group got the pho and got it by the time most of us were almost done eating.Parking: Even though it's free parking for the lot, it's really small. I recommend parking in the street and walking over to save time.“
“We had a great time here at this restaurant. All the dishes were delicious, but the chicken wings were the best. The sea cream taro milk tea was good. I ordered 25% sweetness, but it was pretty sweet for us. Overall, it was a good experience. We will definitely come back to try other dishes.“
“Pescatarian/ vegetarian options! I was surprised I got through on telephone to ask about their menu options. Whoever answered the phone had great customer service and was patient and hospitable with my takeout order. Parking lot was a bit stressful and tight space wise. Some of the best Vietnamese I’ve had in the Los Angeles area though !Vegetarian options: Banh mi“
“100% recommend this place. Ordered: -Potato Noodle -Fried Chicken Pro: -Potato noodle was really good. Chewy and savory. We got the seafood meatballs but they also have a beef one. The broth was spicy and not too heavy tasting. -The chicken was savory sweet, a bit sticky and a delight to eat! There are a lot of bones and the meat is slightly chewy which makes a pleasant texture. -Interior was clean, bright and cute -Plenty of parking inside the structure -Price is reasonable Con: -No credit card payment under $30“
“Nice local Vietnamese restaurant that I've come to a few times. Staff is a friendly and the food was quite delicious! I had some beef spring rolls and a vermicelli dish with meatballs. Both were very good and I had to bring one of the spring rolls home as it was a lot of food. Would recommend trying it out if you're craving some Vietnamese cuisine.“
“Good Chinese food USED to be easy to find not so any more. This was the best Chinese food I have had in years, literally! The Door Dash delivery was horrible but that is a separate issue and as bad as it was it still did not diminish the meal. I can't wait to take my wife & daughter to the Pasadena location.“
“One of the best ramen places in town. Excellent choices along with ramen. We tried it for the first time as we were visiting little Tokyo. Although it is not in the village I will highly recommend to anyone visiting this area. Will be going back for some more next time I am visiting.“
“I tried many Indonesian restaurants in the area before and hands down this Wayang restaurant offers the best and most authentic Indonesian foods. I just love the wonderful combination of flavors and fragrances from the tropical spices used in the cooking. Additionally, the owner Lily is very friendly and attentive to all guests. She makes sure everybody is satisfied. It's always been a great pleasure dining at this place. Highly highly recommended! You should definitely give it a try.Vegetarian options: Gado gado ( steamed veggie salad with peanut sauce, tofu and rice cake) is one of the best vegetarian dishes anybody should try ( whether they're vegetarian or not). So yummy!“
“Always such a great meal here. Duck soup is hard to come by and this place always delivers. The owners are very friendly and knowledgeable about their craft. My family goes here at least once a week! Highly recommended. Their portion is big and price is good too!“
“Amazing food, friendly service! The waitress explained how everything was and was super friendly. The soup came very quickly and it was absolutely delicious. There are several soup base flavors, I picked the sour/spicy one which reminds me of pickled veggie with fish soup, which I absolutely love. They also have small dishes, the potato strips are the best I've had in the US so far, they were thin and soft and reminded me of China.Prices were reasonable too!“
“So I have ordered Takeout & Dined In before countless times due to the food and customer service being absolutely AMAZING & DELICIOUS! Each time I order, I'm never disappointed by the quality of the food. Also, packaging for takeout is perfect it never spills! I love this Ramen spot a lot and noticed I never wrote a review so it was time to do so. <3“
“Yummy soup! Perfect place to go on a cold day.My girlfriend and I stopped here yesterday for some lunch. As busy and full as the parking lot was, this restaurant was nearly empty with only 3 parties in there around lunch time! It seems like most of the people that were parked there went to get dim sum, AYCE sushi, or Korean BBQ.We knew what we wanted to order (we normally order the same thing everywhere). We ordered A2. Shrimp and Pork Spring Rolls, I got P2. Rare Steak, and she got P1. Flavor Pho Combination. The results:- A2. Shrimp and Pork Spring Rolls: They come in a pair with each cut in half. Accompanied by the usual sauce with peanuts in it. It tasted refreshing and was pretty good.- P2. Rare Steak: I feel like most people order this as it's simple and good. The soup was delicious. I ordered an extra side of rare steak for more protein :). Good soup!- P1. Flavor Pho Combination: My girlfriend said it was really good and she finished a large bowl plus the spring rolls! That says a lot.Service was good. The man who greeted us and helped us out was always smiling and cheerful. We sat ourselves and was helped immediately.Parking was a little bit of a pain since it was packed due to the other restaurants in the plaza. There's only a few spots in the front of the restaurant, and unfortunately two of the spots in front are for curbside pickup for AT&T (what the heck!).I recommend this pho place if you're in the area!“
“Impromptu noodle spot on a rainy day. Was happy we did. A bowl of noodles for 13, and lamb soup with bun on the side for 17. Total with tax was about 34. Felt super nice and toasty eating at this spot on a rainy day. Lamb soup hit the spot, pretty generous amount of meat and soup had right amount of flavor with black pepper. Large portion of noodles. Love the home made table chili oil. The guy was super nice. He didn't accept tips, and insisted not taking. He said to visit more often instead. I find that super refreshing. Will be back!Side note there was a lady there who took our order, I saw others comment she isn't very enthusiastic, while we experienced similar I'd say the guy server made it up. We cut that part a slack.“
“Green onion pancakes are crispy, flaky, and fragrant. Dry crispy pork spare ribs with spices, amped up with chopped garlic and jalapenos. My favorite every time mala spicy prime beef noodle soup, tasty sauté of mushroom medly with Chinese celery - a perfect accompaniment to spicy dishes and their house specialSpicy noodles for those of us who like it hot! I'm so glad they have good service and consistently delicious dishes!“
“The food here is always incredible and has to be my favorite Ramen spot by far. I always get the chashu ramen in mild with an egg. So bomb I swear I am salivating at the mouth just thinking about it. My favorite ramen. Always drink the broth, that's the best part!! It's so packed with flavor. I can't get enough and even when you take it home to reheat it, it tastes just as flavorful. You get bomb ramen for a great price. The ambience is chill and relaxing. I love the amount of outdoor lighting it gets. I also love the barstool setup it feels so chill. The service is always excellent. The staff are very friendly and helpful, not like some cold restaurants where you feel unwelcome.“
“Everything tasted great. Beef noodle soup, spicy beef noodle soup, mala beef noodle soup. Now caution should be used with that devil spicy beef noodle soup. That is like ghost pepper crazy spicy.Pan fried buns and XLB were also good. The beef rolls were okay.ALLERGEN NOTES: No milk or egg used lol“
“Highly recommend the Chiu Chow Fish Ball Noodles here. The fish balls here are fresh and bouncy with the right amount of peppery. There’s seating outside of the restaurant in the plaza area, making for a nice people-watching lunch. Also, you can’t beat the price at ~$11 per bowl of noodles! Even with the saturated availability of Chinese/Teochow food in the SGV, I would still make the trek out to Chinatown for Kim Chuy’s fish ball noodles!“
“First time and decided for takeout, as there's not much room for eating. The menu was pretty big with sandwiches "Banhmi", Pho, BBQ with rice and Chowmien, so worried that the food was going to be mediocre - BUT surprise that the 3 different dishes we ordered and egg rolls was just yum. We'll be ordering again.“
“Food was great I got through Uber eats but I'm willing to drive there next time . I had the chowmein, bbq pork and orange chicken. Even the steamed rice was bomb. Definitely will go back, I've been looking for a good Chinese spot and this is it.“
