“That was special... went here with my son for lunch and it was a great overall experience. Love the modern decor and the staff is super friendly and helpful... we had the combo aperizer with beef and two different kinds of pickles. The fried mushroom with peppercorn powder was right up my ally but my son wasn't a fan, too dry and mushroomy. The daicon pickle was the best I've ever had. My son had the dandan noodles which were a delicious flavor bomb and I had the pork dumplings that came in a spicy red sauce. So good I'm already looking forward to coming back for more...“

The pork chop was nice and charred, but also lacked some flavor. The vermicelli (noodles) is a nice filler. “We have only moved here for a couple of months, and this restaurant has quickly become one of our family favorites for noodles and Chinese appetizers.

We love their lamb and beef noodles, they are yummy and nutritious, perfect for a cold and rainy day. Their daily specials are only $9.99 which is pretty good value these days.

We also like that they have several different kinds of noodles to choose from: regular is nice and al dente, thick ones have more substance, and rice noodles are nice and chewy.

Chinese Appetizers are one of their best offerings not to be missed, they are at the counter, covered for freshness so it’s a bit hidden. Basically you walk up and tell them you want to order appetizers, and they will open the lid and let you pick 3 kinds. We usually pick 2 veggies and one meat for $12.99. This complements our soup noodles very well.

Restaurant is generally pretty clean and comfortable, the service is prompt and courteous. Plenty of free parking.“

“Honestly I don't understand the bad reviews. My husband and I absolutely love their food and love supporting them. My favorite thing about this restaurant are the cold dishes. You seldom see restaurants with a cold dish bar like this these days. The restaurant is clean, it's clearly a small family owned business that's trying to keep it traditional, price is extremely reasonable and portions are GENEROUS. Not to mention the food is very very authentic and delicious. We don't live nearby but a lot of family does, and when we're around we only come here. Imagine my disappointment when I tried to use your gyoza wraps; some too dry to use; many were stuck to the one next to it (NOT an easy peel). the combination of too dry and stuck-together made for a lot of torn wraps, necessitating that I patch them together using scraps of ones that didn't stay in one piece in order to finish making the gyoza. The spicy chilli sauce they have is really good if your into that stuff and if you’re not feeling like pho you can order their fried chicken leg which is super crispy that is also served up with fried chicken skin which is addicting. I live near here so I walk and for that reason I know the parking situation is not the restaurants fault. It's very difficult to find parking so I recommend carpooling. The broths have plenty of flavor, the meat is not thin. I recommend for parties up to 4 since the restaurant usually has people dining in. Overall I hope this restaurant survives the economy since it's worth wanting a restaurant experience.“

“A Yelp Elite event brought me to this cool little boutique restaurant. It has a simple, industrial style decor, with a few large garage style doors that open up and make the space feel bigger and more open.

The staff and service were good everyone was nice and friendly. We did not have a reservation and waited no more than five minutes to be seated (around 630p on a Saturday), but it quickly filled after we arrived. It seats only about 50 diners.

Food, we ordered a fresh green salad, chicken wings and duck egg rolls fir appetizers, snd Owl Fried Rice, and crab with Thai chili and basil as shareable entrees. I had a beer with my meal, and my wife had the sangria.

The kitchen flow/timing was a bit off. After our order was taken, we waited about 15 - 20 minutes before the first appetizer came out. As we worked through the appetizers, the Owl Fried Rice arrived. About halfway through the rice, I realized I never got my beer and had to ask for it (I think it was forgotten). We were nearly done with the rice and still hadn’t received the crab dish, so I asked the waitress about it. She looked surprised and said she’d check on it. About 5–10 minutes later, the crab dish finally came out. My wife's second sangria was comped due to this error.

Let's talk about the food:

Green salad – Good and fresh. Did exactly what a salad should do.

Wings – Excellent. Well seasoned and cooked perfectly. Three wings - portion was smaller than typical, as this was part of the Yelp comp. A normal app is 5 wings.

Duck egg rolls – Great flavor, but the wrapper was a little thick and dense.

Owl Fried Rice – Really good overall. The curry flavor comes through strong in a good way. My only issue was that there was just one shrimp in the whole dish. Maybe go lighter on the pineapple and add more shrimp.

Crab with Thai chili and basil – Excellent. The flavors and preparation were on point.

Despite the delays, this was still a pleasant experience. I’ll definitely return and would recommend checking this place out. If the weather’s nice, I suggest grabbing a patio seat (there are only nine).“

“After visiting the OC/LA area, we're on the way back to the Bay Area, we wanted to have some lunch before we go. Some of the restaurant closed on Monday, one our friends recommended this place for real excellent egg noodles soups, so we stopped by, it's right next to PLT the big VN shopping center.
There's no parking for this restaurant, the whole block has a few parking spots and there's parking on the PLT but always full. We had to park outside on a different shopping center.
The restaurant is small and simple, clean. The owner or the care taker seems to be extremely friendly and attentive sitting us on a table.
The menu has quite a few dishes, but we're concentrating on egg noodle soup for lunch so we ordered the special bowl of rice noodles instead of egg noodles. It's quite good, quite tasty with chinese crispy donuts.
We had a great lunch and the price is extremely inexpensive. Ready to drive home.“

“My teenagers and I had the Motto Black, the Motto Red, and the Motto Special. All bowls were tasty and delicious. Noodles were fresh and the chaschu melted in your mouth. Staff was super friendly and attentive. I would recommend as a casual and family friendly atmosphere. We will definitely be back again.“

We ordered the soondae guk and the galbi tang. The galbi was rich and flavorful. The highlight of the meal was the soondae (blood sausage). The texture was different, filled with a mixture of pork blood and noodles.

Overall, it was a great dining experience and a perfect choice for a morning comfort meal. Definitely a spot worth returning to.“
