“Yes, Wholefoods is a bit expensive for certain items but it has so much choice and also has a lot of reasonable priced items! We wanted some food to go and had the vegan grilled vegetable sandwich and vegan smoky tempeh TTLA sandwich - these were both delicious! My favourite was the first and my boyfriend preferred the tempeh one! They also have vegan pizza to go if you're in the mood. I also couldn't resist getting a box of chocolate cookies and a chocolate vegan cupcake - all amazing. Updated from previous review on 2018-06-10“

“We loved our visit to Camel this morning. I’ve been out of the city for a while and I’m happy to see such a unique shop pop up. It reminded me of Star Wars inside ? obviously desert themed. Super sick. Love the seating upstairs. But most importantly the staff were very pleasant and the coffee was so good. I love when everything works in unison at a shop like that. Perfect americano. “If you’re reading this, here’s the short version: this is easily one of the best restaurants in Culver City, and you need to try it now!

It’s a small spot in downtown Culver City that you could walk past without noticing. I’m glad I didn’t. There are a couple of tables outside, but most of the seating is indoors. The space is modern, clean, and relaxing.

We ordered three dishes, all recommended by our waiter. The mussel toast is a must. Every bite is savory and packed with seafood flavor. For mains, we had the short rib and rainbow trout. The short rib was perfection. Cooked over fire and served with crispy potato strings. It’s something you get at high-end steakhouse but at half the price. The rainbow trout looked beautiful and tasted fresh, though the citrus was a bit stronger than I prefer.

For dessert, we couldn’t resist the churro and ice cream sandwich. The ice cream (another must try), sourced from a Persian maker, was rich with rose, honey, and pistachio. The presentation was just as impressive. The churros were decent, though I wished they were crispier and the dipping sauce was thicker.

Overall, I’d give this place a solid five stars. The food is close to Michelin quality without the Michelin prices. Go and you won’t be disappointed.“

“I wouldn’t say this is a disappointment like others. I also went when the line wasn’t long and we got one strawberry matcha and one einspanner and the einspanner was better in my opinion. If you’ve had about time it was similar, but smaller as well. I approve and it’s not bad. Nothing to gag about but it’s pretty good and it’s a lighter einspanner compared to other ppl“

“Awakening is an unexpectedly delightful coffee shop. Terrific coffee drinks ordered from a deceptively sparse lobby, but beyond the barista’s area is a lush, chill sitting area, filled with sofas and soft chairs, and lots of tables to work at. Rentable work room also available. Dog water and snack station. You could chill here for hours.“

“Coffee is incredible! We came almost everyday of our vacation in Santa Monica because of the amazing lattes and the wonderful owners, who explained the art that goes into making all of their products. The blueberry latte was my particular favorite but they were all delicious!!“

“This Latina woman–owned coffee shop is such a hidden gem. From the outside it might look a little rough, but step inside and you’ll be greeted with the warmest service and the most delicious food. I had the best breakfast sandwich I’ve had in a long time, and the mazapán latte was out of this world. PERFECTLY made. “I absolutely love Tot Coffee. Their blueberry cream matcha with oat milk is my favorite drink. It started as a seasonal item but might be on their menu permanently now. My coworker loves the Blue’s Clues signature latte, which has blueberry purée, peppermint, milk, and espresso, and my other coworker switches between the pour-over coffee and cappuccino.

I also love their pastries, especially the spinach pastry, baguette with jam, croissant, and pain au chocolat. Everything we have tried has been delicious.

You can tell the owner is very mindful, which makes for a consistently pleasant experience every time we visit. The drinks don’t change depending on who makes them, and I find comfort in that consistency. I love the café’s minimal but mindful aesthetic. I could sit there all day to work, read, or meet with friends or clients.

The café has a mellow and inviting vibe. They also host the No Bounds Run Club, which is very inclusive for both slower runners like me and faster runners. There is a group that runs 2.5 miles and another that runs 4.5 miles. They meet every Saturday at 7 a.m., and afterwards you get a password for a discount at the coffee shop. You don’t need to sign up, you can just show up. I’m not a consistent runner, but the No Bounds Run Club has made me more consistent because I love the reward of a yummy drink after the run, and I love that someone will walk with me without judgment if I don’t feel like running the whole time.

The seating there seems more like a quick sit down and go. Although, I did see some people with computers. There were also some outdoor seating, but those were all full upon my stay there. They do a great job executing on classic espresso drinks. “Been here now 4 times and it keeps impressing me. The food quality and flavours are SO good, and the wine choices are great, haven’t gotten a bad one yet. The ambiance is a key element too, making it feels like home/community (the name ‘Companion’ is the right one!) with the LP player, the massive bookshelf, the wooden elements and the tables setup. It’s a favourite for us, where we always bring out friend and family visiting us. Love it’s in our neighbourhood!“

“I stopped by this spot on the way to dinner over the weekend. Parking was a little limited, but there were plenty of public lots and street parking nearby. The shop is super cute, and I picked up a few cookies: Guava Cheese, KitKat Tiramisu, Ube Coconut Éclair, and Peanut Butter Banana Brûlée.

What I loved most is that they add the toppings fresh after you order! The cookies were soft, flavorful, and had a nice hint of cinnamon. My favorite was the Guava Cheese🤍

The staff were really friendly and explained each flavor. Next time, I want to try their ice cream since I saw a lot of people ordering it!!!“
