“From the moment we arrived at Mille Fleurs in Rancho Santa Fe, it was clear we were in for another special evening like we have experienced since 2006 when we first dine there. The dining room is elegant yet warm, with soft lighting and thoughtful details that make you feel both pampered and at home. Service was impeccable. The staff were attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely enthusiastic. Every course was a delight. We started with a beautifully balanced appetizer of Deviled Eggs topped with caviar, Escargot and fresh hot baguette that showcased fresh, seasonal ingredients, followed by mains that were cooked to perfection. The flavors were refined and layered, with creative pairings that felt inspired rather than contrived. Portions were generous but never heavy. .Throughout the night the pacing was relaxed, allowing conversation and savoring each dish. Pricing is in line with the quality and experience. “We used to live in the neighborhood where The Pony Room is located, so naturally, we were “regulars”. Ten years ago we relocated to North Scottsdale, but like many full time Zonies we travel to San Diego a few times every year and always enjoy The Pony Room a couple times a year. The service is the best, the menu is excellent and you can't beat the outdoor seating, especially at sunset. We enjoy the lamb lollipops, salmon and Dover sole. When I retired last year, I took my whole firm for an amazing dinner. Everyone from New York and San Francisco loved it!“

“Upscale dining by Chef Jeffrey Strauss. We came for restaurant week ($70 + $45). The menu being offered is slightly different than the daily regular menu offering beef, pork, fish, duck and vegetarian.

We ordered:

Complimentary assorted bread basket came out first with mini corn muffins, baguette and a seeded bread that was my favorite.

Lobster ravioli (also on regular menu) - 1 giant lobster filled ravioli with small mushrooms and scallops in a ginger soy mushroom sauce

Skipped the second appetizer and Supplemented for the Angel hair pasta with shaved truffles for $45. You can add on as a third dish for $65. This was buttery rich goodness.

Korean marinated flat iron steak - sliced in 7 pieces over fried rice. Although rice was good, sadly, we compared it to Trader Joe tv dinner.

Pork schnitzel - I have to say, this was better than the ones I had in Germany and Austria because it was thinner, wasn’t dry and had flavor (meaning salt). The potatoes balanced out the salty flavors.

Warm chocolate caramel cake (also on regular menu) - served with berries and vanilla gelato. Found this to be same as other places.

Seasonal fig tart - puff pastry with mascarpone filling, honey and few slices of fig.

Restaurant week has gotten more pricy over the years with Pampalmousse on the higher end of $70, I expected more. I would have loved to see more of their regular menu items featured on the RW menu and more French inspired.

Overall, plenty of parking, indoor and outdoor seating. We had a wonderful experience. Food was well prepared. Truffle pasta was our favorite. Our drinks were strong. I got the Sippin’ on Lychee with gin, lychee liquor and simple syrup.“

“The food is delicious, flavorful, and authentic. This place offers simple sit down dining in addition to to-go ordering.

Our waiter brought us water, bowls for sharing (we didn't even have to ask!), and a small dessert at the end of the meal. For a place with to-go in the name, this kind of service was unexpected and very welcome.

I didn't see any incentives for leaving a good review, so the 4.9 stars that this restaurant has is well-earned through great food, great prices, and great service.“

All the other restaurant food are kind of... meh? Like they put slightly too much filler into their food.
