“This is our first time at the Nothing Bundt Cakes store in Rosemead. My wife have received Bundts from different flavors from Norhing Bundt cake. The store looks really nice including a good selection of bundts in their refrigerator display case. They also have limited flavor right they have lemon raspberry. My wife and I need to come more often.“

“Every time I’m in LA/Eagle Rock, I have to stop by here. The donuts are sooo good, creative flavors, and fresh. I buy a dozen or 2 and trail my butt back to OC and my family is so excited. I have been a guinea pig of all things g-free for the last 15 years, so I can state confidently that the donuts I had yesterday are some of the most delicious, and tasty G-free treats I’ve had. The cherry on top was the amazing service. I didn’t catch the guys named that helped, but he was so pleasant, attentive and just seemed genuinely happy to serve, and that means a lot to me. “As a vegan family, finding a pizza place that caters to all of us and delivers on flavor can be tough. BUT Pizzanista in San Marino never disappoints! This spot has become our absolute favorite for pizza nights, and for good reason.

Our usual order? The Vegan Sicilian Pepperoni Pizza (crispy, thick, and packed with flavor), the Vegan Margherita Pizza (classic, simple, and oh-so-good), and we always start with the vegan garlic knots because, well, they’re irresistible.

What really makes Pizzanista stand out, though, is the experience. The head chef/owner/partner (not exactly sure, but he runs the show!) is always welcoming, kind, and clearly passionate about what they do. His energy makes every visit even better.

“Lascaris’s never disappoints from there pizza to there sandwiches. Ordered the large Roast Beef, Ham and turkey sandwhich with cheese. The bread was nice and soft and came with mayo lettuce and tomatoes. The sandwhich also comes with a side to which I got the macaroni which was nice and creamy. Sandwiched and side totaled 15.50$ I also threw in some bbq chips for a 1.25$ more total came out to 16.75 which felt was pretty decent. I would definitely recommend Lascaris to anyone looking for fresh yummy Italian food.“

“This place came to the rescue!!! The wedding cake I had made fell over on the long drive. It was a disaster!! Other bakeries near the wedding venue were already closed and others needed at least 48 hour notice… the wedding was happening NOW. I called Sonora Bakery in my final desperate attempt, explained the situation, sent them a picture of the cake and within minutes, they got to work. The cake was delicious and the wedding was saved. Thank you Sonora Bakery…. You have a customer for life!“

I was looking forward to trying their gelato, but the flavor selections seemed typical so I selected one of their pastries in stead. I was in the mood for a tropical flavor and there was only strawberry or lemon and since it wasn’t on display I wasn’t enticed as I eat with my eyes first.

The peach mango mousse special of the day was scrumptious! The packaging was so elegant! It felt like an experience when I opened the box to taste my treats. Their pastries look divine! It was hard not to pick more. I also opted for an Italian cookie/tart filled with a vanilla custard and topped with almonds and pine nuts. Also very good.

In the mood for a fancy sweet treat, it’s worth a stop @ Carrara’s.

“The cupcakes were really good, but it’s a little expensive and also nobody was in the front for a few minutes when I got in. Somehow, the cake was much worse. The cupcakes are the best I’ve ever had tho, so I’d recommend those and try a slice of cake to see if you like it before buying a whole cake.“

Today’s pilgrimage finds me in Sierra Madre at Syndicate, a fantastic find nestled comfortably downtown on Sierra Madre Blvd. Plenty of street parking and a beautiful place to take a stroll if you don’t score a spot immediately out front. The vibe is instantly welcoming, decor is colorfully minimalist, that’s probably not a thing, but it’s the best descriptor I have. The baristas are friendly, skilled and true devotees to all things coffee, even willing to share some potential sites to visit on the next LAtte stop. The coffee itself is excellent, rich, flavorful and no hint of bitterness. I went with oat milk this time and it paired perfectly with the blend, rich creamy, delicious! I can wholeheartedly recommend a visit should you find yourself in the area, or even if your not- expand your horizons and make it a destination, it’s worth it.“

“Follow the sign at Painter Avenue. Park your car at the first parking spot you see. Proceed down the driveway (look left) until you see the door in the fence. Walk to the left of the canopy and walk up the stairs to the "will call" office. Knock on the door until someone answers. They will walk you to the bakery where you can choose and pay for your bread. They take cash and cards. Excellent bread at great prices. I paid $5 for a large loaf of sourdough bread. Would definitely recommend!“

“This restaurant is MOSTLY VEGAN. A few items do have egg or dairy milk, but they are easily swapped for plant based options. This place uses fresh ingredients and makes creative dishes. I wish my tummy was big enough to eat one of everything! I got the chilaquiles and a "dirty"chai latte (dirty means it has an extra espresso shot). “So excited and proud Sugarbird finally has a storefront. My family and I have followed Chef & Owner Kei since it first started and only had regular priority mail delivery and pickup from a co-op location in Downtown LA. I stopped by after the Montrose Farmers Market, where Sugarbird was before and I believe still is for other Farmers Markets, and Kei herself was managing the store. She was nice and really excited to finally have her own storefront. I got a free tea, free clotted cream, the tea sandwich set, six scones (ube, lemon blueberry, matcha, fig & rosemary, passionfruit & earl grey) and shortbread cookies.“

“This is a small and cute bakery in the area. I came by during Valentine’s Day. One of the ladies was decorating the window with Valentine’s Day theme. We ordered the coffee cake and almond croissant. The croissant was very fluffy and crispy. It is one of the best croissant I had in the US, it reminded me of the bakery and croissants I had in Paris. Servers are very helpful and friendly as I asked them for recommendations of the pastries. Will come back again for more croissants!
