“JP Thai Kitchen is a hidden gem on Freeport Blvd in Sacramento. The food is delicious with an excellent service. The dining room is a little dated but comfortable. I have the Roasted Duck Curry and Spicy Fish (I want it mild). I also ordered brown rice for the curry. All the dishes are delicious. However, I hope the Roasted Duck Curry is a little more creamy. It is more like a curry soup; even the curry tastes very well.Parking: ADA parking availableKid-friendliness: The restaurant has many dishes the kids will likeWheelchair accessibility: The restaurant is wheelchair friendly“
“Very very delicious and flavorful Thai food!! Definitely coming back! Our waitress was really nice. The chicken curry puffs appetizer is a MUST!! The dough is the perfect crispiness and the filling is great. Their curry has depth of flavors and the Thai iced tea was refreshing. Restaurant looks great inside too, I like the baskets on the ceiling, and chairs are very comfortable.“
“Tried this place for the first time and I got to say it's definitely my new favorite Thai place! Got the pad see ew, pork ribs, and Tom yum soup. All the food was cooked fresh and was delicious!!! Would highly recommend. Staff was super friendly as well!“
“Unexpected place that has great food & service. The Tom Yum Goong soup was the perfect on a cold rainy day. Perfect balance of spice and ingredients. Was able to smell the ribs before they arrived at the table. There were great also! The waitress was friendly, timely and responsive. Definitely a place to try if you're in the mood for Thai food.“
“Perfect lao food. You have to know this place, to know. Their pad thai is bomb. I love their sausage and sticky rice combo. Thai tea here is probably one of my favorites! I love their fatty pork belly with egg. steamed catfish & kaopoon. Service is always on point too. Call ahead for quicker service but their service is really fast already!“
“The staff is very friendly! The food is even better! Everything I've had here has been delicious. Personal favorite is the Roasted Duck Curry, I can't not have it. Adorable bonus, they say, "See you tomorrow!" as you leave.“
“Not bad for a boba place. It's not like your typical quickly or other boba spots. This place actually serves Lao dishes and desserts. We drove all the way to Cocomilk Cafe from Hayward after seeing people post their food and restaurant on TikTok. The service is excellent. The staff are so helpful and attentive. We ordered the Lao Sausages, Khao Piak, Nam Khao, Grilled Beef, Heavenly Beef, Pork Tapioca and Mochi Layers. Everything was very delicious.“
“Eating here felt like I was eating at a Lao party. Very authentic and very flavorful. I LOVED it here, and the owner is very very sweet. I had a very lovely time here. It’s honestly 10 stars! Would definitely come back here multiple times to eat again.“
“Food great; shrimp fried rice seafood combo. Service was quick, I was the only customer. LoL. Atmosphere was great, real quiet, I was the only customer. What a great atmosphere with soft quiet piano music in the background.Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options are available.Kid-friendliness: Kids are welcomed.“
“Been to this place about 5 times now and every time I have tried a different dish and all of them have been on point in terms of flavor, portion, and temperature. They are a very small joint can sit about 7 small parties. So I think a lot of people order take out.Highly recommend this place to anyone in Sac looking for some fire Thai food for a great price point.“
“Some of the best Thai food I've ever had. The only thing keeping this from getting 5 stars is the service. They will literally never answer the phone for pick up. They told me so themselves. So if you want their food youre forced to go in and wait there for 30+ minutes. Get it together and maybe hire more people.“
“In a nutshell; neat place to stop by and satisfy your Thai food cravings if you're in the area. The west-wind theater drive-in Is nearby so if you wanted to get thai food while watching or if you got around the area rather early and there isn't any traffic then well this is a neat place to stop by. It isn't the biggest restaurant but seats and tables were decent enough, no squeaking or table tilting. The man behind the register was rather busy but still attentive as he could. Food didn't take too long at all. Appetizers were first and that was great and before you know it the entrees were served and those tasted amazingly as well. If I had a few qualms about it is maybe the location it is at, as we parked and headed towards the entrance had a rather frantic person walk by clutching his bag as though he was about to get robbed speaking obscenities at the person he passed earlier. Don't know what that's about but well maybe that was just a one time occurrence. Overall still a neat place to try out.“
“it is 5/5 everything, it's mostly to go so it's usually only couples and the occasional (+ 1 child). Ready nice ambience and music. It's my "hidden gem of Sacramento" recommendation. we recommend the pineapple fried rice + chicken drunken noodle + chicken satay appetizer + shrimp in a blanket appetizer. that whole thing costed 68$ and we have enough leftovers for lunch, worth the priceParking: Depends on where you enter the strip mall. One road leads you to the main parking lot directly visible of Thai terrace. The other road leads you to the other strip mall lot that's behind Thai terrace but shares parking. I always forget which road is which.Kid-friendliness: Saw a couple with a child and a high seat so seemed kid friendly.“
“The staff are all wonderful. I love the options on their new Vegan menu. All of the dishes in my group from their regular menu smelled great and looked awesome.Vegetarian options: They offer a full page of vegan options and the staff were extremely helpful.“
“Been here twice now, I dined in once and did takeaway the other. Both times the food and service have been excellent. I got the massaman curry with chicken as I'm a creature of habit. Also both times I've been here it hasn't been busy. Show this place some love, it's worth the trip.“
“Friendly service and delicious food. Loved the Lao menu items, as Thai food is sort of common. Lao sausage was moist, the mee krati had an array of flavors and textures. Only recommendation would be to let the spareribs in the Tom Zapp simmer longer as some pieces were not that tender.“
“This is a cute little Thai place but was interesting to me. Is when we wanted to order they asked us to scan the QR code for menu, but my husband eyesight is not good we ask for regular menu the older gentleman said they have none. BUT another group came in and ask for paper menu a young waiter handed the paper menu to them. Not a good vibe to start our dinner. The food taste good but the crab fried rice with a bit cold. The curry is delicious and the pad see ew was interesting because I've always had it with Chow fun noodles, but it came in this thin rice noodle, which was surprising. Not the same flavor not the same taste. We did not enjoy that.“
“Thai - The House of Authentic ThaiWow, lived up to the name; signature fresh and tasty ingredients I am used to getting at good Thai restaurants. The portion sizes are very generous, enough to satisfy any normal size appetite. It’s a small cosy location, the kind of place you find close to universities (Sac State in this case). Definitely worth a visit.“
“It was our first time dining here. We've decided to try this place because of the good reviews here on yelp and we were around the area. We were not disappointed. The service was excellent. There were two lady servers during the time we were there and both of them were accommodating and efficient. They kept asking us if everything was okay and if we needed anything. The place was nice and clean. We ordered red and green curry with rice. Both of the curry had the same ingredients of coconut milk, eggplant, bamboo, broccoli, and red bell pepper with just the paste difference. The red curry seemed more spicy and had peanut flavor (according to my husband) while the green curry tasted more coconut flavored. Their Thai milk tea was good too. The serving size was huge and for its price, I think it was worth it.“
“It was my first time there, and I had the yellow curry with chicken and the brown rice. It was fabulous!! I love yellow curry, and this one was about the finest I can remember. The brown rice was perfectly cooked, and I couldn't have been more pleased. I can't wait to return to try other menu items!“
“The restaurant is close to the highway and plenty of parking. The lunch specials are a good deal since you get to try two skewers, salad, and sticky rice. Food is made fresh and piping hot. It is Asian spicy so beware! The lao sausage is very good.“
“Whether you're sipping on a refreshing coconut water or digging into a delicious coconut-infused dish, every bite is like a mini vacation. The laid-back vibes and friendly staff make The Coconut On T the perfect spot to relax and unwind with friends. A must-visit for anyone craving a taste of the tropics!“
“Everything about our experience was AMAZING! Service was fast and attentive. The food was so fresh and great flavor. We ordered so many different things! Fresh rolls, cheese wonton, potstickers, and fried calamari for appetizers. Tom yum soup, BBQ chicken, basil fried rice, and black pepper vegetables with tofu. The Thai coffee was perfect. I will be returning <3Vegetarian options: Many of the dishes you can pick tofu as the protien. One of the few Thai restaurants in Sac that you can get tofu in the Tom yum soup.“
“I have been eating here since they opened and I have never had a bad meal. All 5 stars!Vegetarian options: The vegetarian options are great and they have a great selection of gluten free fare! My gluten sensitive wife loves the fresh rolls! I love the mixed vegetables and curries!“
“Came to Sacramento for an appointment and decided to try this Thai spot out. We where greeted by the sweetest lady and sat right away. It's a very cute little restaurant. We ordered fried potstickers and they where the perfect crispy little things. The chicken pad Thai and pork fried rice had so much flavor and was so good. The cucumber and lime water was also so refreshing. I would definitely return if I'm ever in the area again.“
“Good food and lovely decor. Went here for Valentine's dinner based on the photos and reviews. Unfortunately, the place lacks ambience. There is a television with college basketball playing at both ends which ruins the vibe. I asked if one of the TVs could be turned off and was told no, because someone is watching the game. People can watch the game on their phone or go to a sports bar. It is Valentine's Day. Beautiful aesthetic and ambience ruined by having to see a commercial of toilet paper. This is not a sports bar. Poor decision to add TVs instead of candles.“
“We had lunch with our friends & kids during holiday. The restaurant is spacious and comfortable. We parked on the street near the restaurant.- Papaya salad: good acidity & refreshing.- Pad thai with chicken: delicious! The noodle was perfectly cooked. The pad thai was very flavorful and we could taste the fish sauce. They gave plenty of chicken pieces. The portion was good too.- Pineapple fried rice with chicken: my favorite! I usually prefer pad thai to fried rice but the pineapple fried rice was delicious! The rice was succulent and it had deep flavor. There were lots of tender chicken pieces too.Overall, the taste, price & portion were good. We would be back to try different menu.“
“Food was delicious!!! My go to place for Hmong herb chicken soup 9/10, Spicy papaya salad 10/10, angel wing 8/10, Kapoon 8/10, Laap 8/10, steamed rolls 10/10, Hmong sausages 5/10, chicken wings 7/10, spring rolls 6/10, and bean thread noodle salad 9/10. Overall, food was great and would definitely be going again!!!“
“Went to dinner here with a couple of friends. We tried the chicken satay, calamari, green curry and drunken noodles. The chicken satay and drunken noodles were good, the other two were okay.Parking: The parking lot is very small, but we found parking on the side street.“
“The food was delicious - it always is. We've never had a bad meal here. And the service is the best. Sarah is OUR server and she's fantastic. So very friendly yet completely professional. We absolutely love her! And Sofia the hostess, Amir the manager, Jackson the busser, and, of course, Tina who's just a special lady and does a little bit of everything! A really great place and staff.“
“Love that they open late . They are next to a casino too . Not from here but my bestie brought me here for a small late night snack . Didn't disappoint .. we got the papaya salad ans bruu two pepper was spicy already idk I usually get three and damn it was hot . Got kaboom too and sausage. .. gonna have to try it again when I come back into town“
“Been here a few times. I also order from doordash a few times too. Food taste so good. If you like something like papaya salad, you gotta get their yum woon sen. Can't really explain much, but I usually eat it "Thai spicy" because I love spicy food. I also love their Thai Boat Noodles. They only let me down one time over pork belly to go. They give my husband a very small portion for how pricy it was. ? Overall, the restaurant is great!“
“Very friendly when picking up my order, had it ready and hot. I always order "medium" spice level when trying a new place to make sure that I can taste the food and judge the heat level. The food was very good, and man oh man did the heat come on! Definitely more on the hot end of the spectrum but no complaints from this heatonist. Already plotting my next trip.“
“Always a hit for me whenever I go.Their seafood boil flavor is pack with a lot of flavor and spice. So if you can't handle the spice then I recommend to get mild. Medium spice is pretty spicy. The service is good. Kinda wish they provide gloves for the seafood boil.“
“Enjoyed delicious two curries (Penang & Green) & crab rice. The rice was tepid so asked for it to be remade. When it came back it was delicious, as well. Also ordered steamed dumplings as an appetizer. Meh. I'd skip those. Overall, delicious authentic food.“
“Food was good , service was a little above average. The hospitality was great though she was refilling our waters and asking if we were doing okay. We got the chicken satay which was a 9.5/10 , we got the thai chow mein w/ beef which was a 9/10, the pineapple fried rice w/ chicken was a 9/10 and the yellow curry w/ chicken was a 10/10 , and didn’t get a picture of the thai tea but it was an 11/10. Would recommend this place for sure, and excited to come back and try new items! Fyi: we shared this as a family of four and it costed $66 and it was almost not enough food for us so your looking at around $15 per person i guess.“
“We say the cutest thai restaurant with great ambience. We stopped to check for vegan options and were thrilled to receive not only a dedicated vegan menu but also a vegan seasonal menu. The selection featured both traditional classics and unique creations, making it difficult to choose from the plethora of options. Everything we tried was delicious. Their house tea, made from a blue flower they grow and dry themselves, was exceptional. I only wish I didn’t have to leave town so soon, as I would have loved to try more of their offerings. If you’re vegan, this place is a must-visit. It's surprising it didn’t show up on Google when I searched for vegan-friendly Thai food. So i had to make sure to post a review of this vegan friendly delicious spot. The owner also talked to us such a kind woman.Dietary restrictions: Full vegan menu, GF friendly“
“GREAT HALAL FOOD,I HAD THE PAPAYA SALAD FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE IT WAS ABSOLUTELY AWESOME. BEEF CHOWMEIN AND PINEAPPLE FRIED RICE WAS A BLAST OF DELICIOUS FLAVOURS 100% RECCOMEND TO ALL Y FRIENDS AND FAMILIES TO GO HERE AND TRY THE YUMMY HALAL “
“First time here & the food was absolutely amazing! It was fresh hot & flavorful! We got the chicken chow Mein, chicken sweet & sour, chicken pad Thai, chicken drunken noodles, shrimp chow Mein & chicken pod stickers, & everything was just absolutely amazing! We got mild for everything but it still had some kick to it! Can not wait to come back & bring my family! The young girl that took our order was really kind! The customer service is another reason why I will be back! Can’t wait to try the rest of their menu!“
“Starting with the service, we were welcomed by an accommodating server. The place has its distinct thai characteristic showing its authenticity. The food was really good and we enjoyed everything we ordered: thai fried rice, pannang curry, and tilapia fillet but we hope that they will expand their menu more in the future. Also, increase the illumination and visibility so people can easily see this good restaurant.“
“This was the best idea to stop here and eat! My family stopped in on our way home to Washington, on New Year's Eve, for lunch. We were so happy with all the food. We ordered mussamun Curry, mango curry, drunken noodles, tom kha, fried egg rolls, and crab Langoon. 10/10! Excellent service, the waiter was so funny. Very clean and friendly environment.“
“Ramen comes to mind when the weather is cool and raining! Ever since I heard Pipo Ramen & Rice is on the Top 100 Places to Eat in Sacramento, I have been wanting to try this place. It's located in South Sacramento, off 65th Street, in this quiet plaza with plenty of parking. We came here for dinner a little before 6:00 pm on weekdays, and we were the only customers. The place is clean, tidy, and spacious with a high ceiling. We sat down and were given the menu and water right away. At first, I thought this was a Japanese/Ramen restaurant because of the name. After looking at the menu, it turns out it's a Thai restaurant. Either way, I enjoy both Japanese and Thai food.I love duck, so I immediately knew I wanted the Crispy Duck Fried Rice. I was surprised that the duck breast was served on top of the basil fried rice, instead of diced and cooked together with the fried rice. I really like that because I can see what part of the duck I'm eating. It's also delicious! The duck was crispy and savory. The basil and Thai seasoning add unique flavors to the fried rice. Generous portion. I would definitely get this again. 5/5We also got the Tonkotsu Ramen. It's your typical ramen with the standard toppings and ramen egg (ajituske tamago). The broth is creamy and not too salty. It really is perfect for the rainy weather. 4/5The service was great. The server was friendly and checked on us a couple of times. We can't wait to come back and taste other dishes.“
