“A San Diego landmark. Used to frequent this classic dive bar and whiskey emporium up until about 10 years ago when I moved. They’ve spent some money and updated it and it’s all for the better. Ashley helped me and was a pleasure. It’s a true gem. A must hit spot and close to parking and the airport.“

I went on a Sunday night and it was super affordable. It did take a minute to get the bar tender’s attention, but she was really friendly and made great drinks once I did. I’m not sure if they have food items here or not“

“We came over to watch the New Orleans Saints game.
They were open before 10 am and were very welcoming as we walked in.

We had our choice of TVs and tables.
We ordered a breakfast burrito with sausage. It was really good.
And the Asian dry rub wings….. dang!

The staff came over and checked on us a few times.
Very nice. Great service.

I don’t know how we missed this place before.

“Great little dive bar in Ocean Beach. Stop in for a cheap adult beverage and enjoy hanging out with the locals! I definitely felt in the minority here as a tourist but not in a bad way! The staff was welcoming as we're the patrons. I cannot attest to the food as I didn't eat but it looked and smelled great! Fans are running to keep you feeling cool even with the heat!“

“I came here after work on a Friday night. It just so happen to be a Padres vs Dodgers game and this place was packed! I mean, for your regular local bar... it was poppin'!
Everyone had a good, positive vibe watching the game regardless of the rivalry (there was a mix of both fans here) they didn't have the jukebox playing, so it was strictly game time vibes!
But as soon as the game ended, Jaqui, the bartender at the time, turned the music UP!
Jaqui was the ONLY bartender serving the patrons all night! She not only was running around like crazy but she kept such an inviting, friendly smile the whole time! She made sure to keep a conversation going with her guests as well.
While I was here, I didn't hear of any complaints about the service. Jaqui made sure my refreshments 😜 were always full as well. She's by far the best I've seen yet!!
Overall, it's a cool bar to chill at during baseball games or even to have a night cap after work! & with Jaqui as your bartender, you'll leave here on a positive note and I bet you'll be back 😋😉“

“Went in on a Friday night with a couple friends and had a pretty good time. The place had a relaxed vibe, not too loud, and it was easy to actually have a conversation. Bartender was friendly and gave a few suggestions when we couldn't decide what to order. Drinks came out quick and tasted great. The crowd was mixed and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Prices were fair for the area too. Nothing overly fancy, just a solid neighborhood bar where you can kick back for a few hours. I'd definitely come back when I'm in the area again.“

“I came in to Lucys for the first time after a horrible lay off. I never knew this place existed! My friend works at the pottery place next door. “Came here from Sacramento to visit and glad this was my first experience in SD's gayborhood! My bartender, Melissa, was super attentive and fun to talk to and so were the people nearby. Was fun connecting with strangers. I had a Hemingway Daquiri to drink and a grilled cheese, fries, and onion rings to eat, all of which were delicious. Love the vintage-y aesthetic, had a homey vibe to it.“

Speaking of Blast-From-The-Past" we found two of our favorite bartenders here Brie and Brandon working the football crowd. It was refreshing to see that they remember all of us as soon as we walked in (by name!!!!) and what was also awesome they remembered what we drank, talk about those two making us feeling special. The ambiance on Sunday's is football, football, fun, and good times. During half time my husband and his friend like to play pool and additionally they put out some good eats (for FREEEEEEEEEEE) - yesterday it was nachos, 7 layer dip, juicy full size hot dogs (not the cheapies) and some yummy cookies and cakes. I don't know any other bar that goes that far. “The DJ on June 20th was the best DJ I had experienced in years. I always joke that I have retired from PB night life, but I came out of retirement to enjoy a day with friends during the World Cup games, we ended the night at Thrusters and vibes were ON! The DJ was so incredible and so nice, please keep him on your employee roster as long as he will allow!“

We had a drink and then headed to another spot. I would definitely recommend going on a busier night for more energy, but overall a welcoming vibe.“
