“The broth is very flavorful and meat ball are good. But the rare steak was rather chewy. But the disappointment came from the popcorn chicken. They gave picture posted everywhere in the restaurant even the menu will show a picture of TAIWANESE style popcorn chicken. But if you can see my photo the chicken looks nothing like Taiwanese popcorn chicken. I made a comment about how my chicken don’t match the photo of what is shown on menu and owner say this is how his chicken is and always been and his customer like it that way. Ok great then change your photo. Don’t falsely advertise something you’re not selling“

“We ordered Pho, egg rolls and spring rolls and everything was delicious. Ingredients were fresh and good portions. My only complaint is that we only got one single packet of hoisin sauce. Good thing we had a bottle at home. Definitely recommend“

“A lovely spot for anyone craving authentic Vietnamese food. The dishes are full of flavor and clearly made with care. Portions are just right, and the pricing is more than fair for the quality you get.
The staff are friendly, fast, and attentive, which adds to the overall relaxed and welcoming vibe.
The interior could use some refreshing—the chairs and overall decor feel a bit worn and dated. That said, the experience is still very positive, and the food absolutely makes up for it. Worth a visit if you’re in the area!“

“11.19.25 2:30pm Our absolute fave pho and bun restaurant, they don't serve anything else, now open 7 days a week. This restaurant has been here for 40 years! It's a no frills, cafeteria style, single family owned business with the kindest people staffed here. One of my doctors recommended this place.
The pho broth is actually real, simmered bone broth instead of powdered soup base like 99% of other pho restaurants. We tested the broth, took it home, and it gelled completely in the fridge. Pho and bun are super fresh, with abundant amount of meat and fresh vegetables. My parents rate this restaurant's pho as the best tasting they ever ate, and they LOVE pho! We couldn't detect any msg flavor in the food.
We overheard another Caucasian male patron, who was there for a pick up order, talking with the owner gentleman and he said he had been a loyal patron of this restaurant since 1997 and he drives down all the way from Castro Valley just to get the to-go pho from here. That has to be an hour's drive one way without heavy traffic.
Currently there are at least 6 story apt buildings being built right next to and behind the restaurant. Parking lot is not plentiful but if dining at odd hours it won't be as busy.
Thank you!“

“Bò Né Phú Yên is a solid spot for sizzling Vietnamese steak, offering filet mignon, eggs, pâté, and fresh baguettes on a hot iron plate. The rich flavors and tender meat make it a satisfying meal, and the presentation adds to the experience. The food court setting can be noisy, and seating is limited during busy hours, but the quality of the dish makes up for it.
The portion sizes are fairly generous, making it a filling option for breakfast or lunch. However, some visits can be inconsistent, with slight variations in meat tenderness or seasoning. Despite that, the restaurant remains one of the better choices for Vietnamese sizzling steak in the area, especially for those who enjoy bold flavors and interactive dining experiences.“

“A very hidden gem in San Jose. I never would have known this was here. Quiet atmosphere, attentive service, grand portions and the Thai tea is freaking sweet. We ordered a Thai tea to go. The Korean chicken and waffles are delicious, sweet tasting fried chicken. The Bahn mi skillet was a perfect size for me (I'm a big guy).
Oh and yes they have mimosas.“

“This place is amazing. I am so glad that I found it and now I know where to go when I have to order or dine in Vietnamese. The owner is super sweet and so nice. And the soup is exactly what i needed. Full of nutrition, no grease or useless oils to make it shiny and fresh steamed vegetables. Tofu is super fresh.
This is first time I am reviewing a place while eating, couldn’t wait till I finish my meal!
I am going to be their regular customer. Highly recommend this place!“

“Absolutely fantastic! Broth is rich and flavorful, the meat in the beef stew literally melts when you bite it. The spring rolls are spring rolls and super savory egg rolls. The noodles are cooked perfectly! The staff are attentive and friendly, and the restaurant itself is clean, inviting, and homie. I cannot suggest this place enough. Plus being just across from the hospital makes it a super accessible location. My wife REQUIRES we stop here before every obgyn appointment.“

“Your local, not-so-hidden gem. If you're into fresh tofu, soy milk, or legit viet snacks, Hung Vuong Tofu is the spot.
Tucked away in an unassuming plaza in San Jose, this place is small but always busy and for good reason.
This no frills spot is basically a grab and go. The service is fast and efficient but don't expect an amazing atmosphere and sit down vibes. This is not what the spot is about.
Their house made tofu is amazing. The silken tofu is sooooo silky. The fried tofu is crispy on the outside and custardy on the inside. Don't forget to grab soy milk, as well.
Overall, this is a great spot to get your tofu and soy milk in San ose.“

“We were trying to eat at another restaurant but unfortunately Tuesday is a rest day for many restaurants
We got the
extra crispy fried egg rolls 4.5/5 stars
Pho with beef ribs 4/5 stars. my son thought broth a bit bland but I told him he eats too salty. I thought it was fine...Then he agreed it was 4 stars
Very disappointing was the pho ap chao 1star/5 (crispy fried pho noodles with beef). The sauce was very bland. The beef was good(not doctored chemically) but the sauce was very unflavorful.“

“Quan Hue Restaurant specializes in Hue-style Vietnamese cuisine, with standout dishes like Mì Quảng, Bánh Bèo, and Bánh Xèo. The flavors are authentic, and the portions are generous, making it a great spot for traditional Vietnamese food. The food court setting can be crowded, but the quality and variety make it worth the visit.
While the dishes are well-executed, service can be slightly rushed due to high demand. Some menu items, like Bánh Bèo, may arrive inconsistently prepared, but overall, the restaurant does a great job of capturing the essence of Central Vietnamese flavors.“

“This place deserves 5 stars just because of one thing: egg rolls. This is probably my favorite (Vietnamese) egg roll place in the whole Bay Area. They look super simple and just like any other egg roll but once you eat one you can't stop eating them. What makes it even more amazing is that they still taste good even after they become cold. There are so many layers of taste within each bite of the egg roll it's hard to describe the taste. Just go there and buy some egg rolls and judge yourselves. No other egg roll places even come close if we are only taking about taste.
This is operated by the parents of the now closed LP egg rolls so I'm so glad they kept this store open. They also have other interesting snacks but for me egg rolls are why I drive an hour for.
This is not a restaurant so you can't eat inside but order the egg rolls to go and enjoy in your car or your home.
This is a very small strip mall so parking can be difficult.“
“Best on the menu - They use fresh herbs, balanced flavors (sweet, sour, salty, umami), and light but satisfying textures. Some of the top Vietnamese foods people consider the best include:
• Phở – The iconic noodle soup with beef or chicken, fresh herbs, lime, and chili.
• Bánh mì – A crispy French-style baguette stuffed with meats, pickled veggies, cilantro, and chili sauce.
• Bún bò Huế – A spicy beef noodle soup from Central Vietnam with lemongrass, pork, and thick noodles.
• Gỏi cuốn (spring rolls) – Fresh rice paper rolls with shrimp, pork, vermicelli, and herbs, served with peanut sauce.
• Cơm tấm – Broken rice with grilled pork chop, egg, and fish sauce.
• Cá kho tộ – Caramelized and braised fish in clay pot, savory and sweet.
• Chả giò – Fried spring rolls, crispy outside and savory inside.
• Hủ tiếu – A Southern-style noodle soup with clear broth and toppings like seafood or pork.“

“I passed this restaurant all the time but never gave it any through. Being a rainy day, my wife wanted to try it. I had #5 on the menu, WOW !! Just like how mom uses to make it. It's an authentic original flavor from Vietnam. Not the fusion BS food that's pop-up restaurant is doing now a days. When I went to pay the bill, i looked in the kitchen and saw all the cooks were old in their 60s +, I understood why the flavors brought back memories of the pass. Yes, it's $$, but it's about the same as everywhere now.“

“This place is a fantastic spot for authentic Vietnamese food! The moment I walked in, the cozy atmosphere and the smell of fresh herbs and spices made me feel like I was in Vietnam. I ordered the pho and the spring rolls, and both were amazing—the broth was rich and flavorful, and the rolls were fresh and crispy. The portions were generous, and the prices were very reasonable, which is always a win. The staff was friendly and attentive, though the service was a bit slow, probably because it was busy. The only downside was that the place is pretty small, so finding a table during peak hours can be a challenge. Also, the parking situation wasn’t great, so I had to circle around for a bit. But honestly, the food more than made up for it. If you’re craving real Vietnamese flavors, this is the spot!
Vegetarian options: Yes, there are a few vegan options on the menu, like vegetable pho and vegan spring rolls, but the selection isn't huge.“

“I got before and after shots of the pho I got and it was sooo good to have, i believe I had got the rare beef flank and beef brisket(the third page of the pho series picture in the middle). Soup perfectly seasoned, noodles good, meat good. It had a lot of soup which is great for a pho, and they had great service even though i was alone with no one else dining in the place either. Since it was my first time I was awkward at first in a new place due to being alone an empty place(came not at peak times) but it was good food. I will be coming again to solo dine.“

“Omg such good pho. The broth is on point excellent. The noodles are so good. They don’t have the “fresh noodles” but the normal noodles they have taste so fresh it’s amazing. I’ve now had it 4-5 times and every time the noodles amaze me. I’ve been to many pho places as old as this one (my friend told me it’s been here for 30+ years) and they always fall off at the noodle. But not this one. Pho Thi #1. Truly first place.“

“Hole in the wall with the yummiest Hu Tieu in the Bay Area. Very authentic and taste just like something you’d get on the streets of Vietnam. The portion is Huge! I got #1 with soup on the side with a order of yutiao. It came with all the inners and seafood. 10/10 would recommend!
The building might be old, but the food has so much authenticity and vibe is immaculate. Chefs kiss.“

“We stumbled into this restaurant while walking through the mall. It’s a fairly large and clean space with a plethora of tables to accommodate customers. Their key dish is the Cambodian style noodle soup which we ordered, dry, with soup on the side. The soup and noodles were quite delicious and I would certainly go back to eat there again.“

“I went to Pho Now recently and had a good experience. I ordered the basic pho, large size, and it was solid—comforting and flavorful. I also tried the grilled short rib rice plate, which was delicious. The restaurant itself is spacious with bright lighting and high ceilings, which made it feel open and welcoming.
One of the fun surprises was the robot that came around to serve water and bean sprouts for the pho — it gave the place a cool, modern vibe. There are big TVs on both sides of the dining area that show videos of food being prepared in different places, including right there in the restaurant, which was fun to watch as we ate.
Service was friendly and smooth. You order at the table and then pay at the counter. They even give out lollipops when you check out, which I thought was a nice touch. Parking is plentiful in the lot, so getting in and out was no problem.
The only thing I’d mention is that it’s a little on the pricey side, but for the quality, atmosphere, and service, I think it’s worth it. Overall, I really liked it here and would give Phi Now 5 stars for this genre of food and dining experience.
August 2025 update:
We liked it so much I came back again a month later. This time we tried the beef rib pho and a vermicelli bowl. The beef rib is a huge chunk of meat! Really tender, really tasty. And the vermicelli bowl was filling and flavorful. Very satisfying meal.“

“We came pretty early and the place was quiet; lots of parking in the lot. It was most delicious pork noodle soup I’ve ever had! The soup was clear and non greasy which is uncommon with pork broths. I ordered the H5 soup and the bowls were massive! I was about to explode by the end of it. Staff were incredibly friendly as well and very attentive! Highly recommend!“

“Thiên Long Restaurant offers a cozy atmosphere with plenty of seating, though it can feel a bit cramped during peak hours. The signature grilled fish dish, served with herbs and rice noodles, is a standout, providing a fun, interactive dining experience.
The chef’s special beef stew is flavorful but slightly oily, and vegetarian options are limited. Service is friendly, with complimentary rice crackers and shrimp sauce as a starter. While some diners wish for more whole fish options, the DIY grilled fish wraps make for a unique and enjoyable meal.“

“So glad they’re open early. It’s a perfect spot for a comforting bowl of pho to start the day. The broth is rich and flavorful; you don’t need to add a thing. “OMG! I have been looking for this flavor for 3 years straight, from Canada to California. This tasted like the noodle soup stores in my grownup neighborhood back in my hometown. This brought back lots of fun memories from childhood.Their Shrimp Wonton Egg Noodle Soup and Shrimp Wonton with Egg Rice Noodle Soup were delicious. The Vietnamese iced milk coffee was strong ?The restaurant was quite small, so the seating was cramped. But, they had both indoor and outdoor seatings.
Vegetarian options: Don’t bother. There’s no vegetarian dishes here.
Kid-friendliness: Kid high chairs
Wheelchair accessibility: Better stay at outdoor seating because the indoor seating is quite cramped.“

“Our new go-to place for bánh cuốn (steamed rice rolls), bánh beo (việt savoury rice cake) and bánh ít tran (viet sticky rice dumplings).
It’s a small mom and pop shop but the quality is amazing. All the cakes and rolls are made to the right texture and not hardened when cooled down.
My husband and I tried various restaurants in San Jose and Orange county to find the right bánh cuốn (steamed rice rolls) and we were so surprised to find that the best option is so close to home!! Granted, at restaurants you get more toppings; but if you are only interested in the rolls, check out this place.
We normally re-steam rather than use microwave when serving the rice cakes and rolls at home for better texture and taste.“

“-The ribs are delicious. The fish sauce is liquid gold!
-The coffee should come in double the size for the price. It's good Vietnamese coffee.
-The tamarind drink is a really weird untasty flavor with peanuts. I do not recommend it. If you buy it and you do not like it, you can't send it back. I wish they allowed me to exchange it for a coffee.
- bottom line is the rib dish is the best!“
