“Can’t believe it took me so long to try this place!
I had the brisket and dino ribs, with slaw salad and potato salad on the side.
First of all, I would never in my life order potato salad—but this potato salad is so good I could eat it as a meal! (In fact, I actually had it for breakfast the next morning.)
The slaw salad was fresh and zesty. I loved the dressing, the peanuts, and of course the pineapple.
The brisket melts in your mouth, and the dino ribs were packed with flavor. Honestly, the meat was absolute perfection.
We got a burger to go (very kind lady at the counter!)
The seating is casual, which really matches the kind of food you just want to devour without a second thought.
I’ll definitely be coming back for more - forever!“

“There general cook of the meat was solid. Smokiness and tenderness was spot on. Depending on your preferences the execution on the protein was top notch. However I felt the bbq sauce (medium spice) was very average. If this was better I would have given it five stars.“

“First time my guest and I having dinner at Emil Villa's BBQ. As soon as I exited my vehicle, the smell of the ribs made my mouth start to water. This restaurant is very clean. We were pleasantly greeted with a smile and seated right away. We ordered from the senior menu which prices were senior friendly. You can tell what we ordered just by looking at the photos. The food was very delicious, the salad was crispy and fresh as well as the corn and the baked potato. We were also served complimentary baked beans on the house. “I ran across this place by accident. It is on 98th Ave., East Oakland.Some might not think the neighborhood is very nice, but there is parking and the barbecue was good for the most part. I did ask for my barbecue to be on my meat because it was very good dark, But they put it on the side instead. You have the choice of getting lunch or dinner. The dinner is gonna cost you a little bit more but it’s a lot of meat.The sauce was rich and seasoned just right I got the beans and the mac & cheese. I was told that the potato salad is actually very good. Traffic is swift , on the outside, looking in, you would never know that they have really good barbecue inside but the most part I’m pleased“

Skibidi toilet rizz was playing cuz the owners kid was here. Classic Chinese restaurant. But otherwise, there were some interesting collections on the walls. Giving underground restaurant vibes, but not quite


Meat was juicyyyyy and love the enoki mushrooms. Some of the other skewers like the asparagus and 土豆丝 could use some more seasoning though.

“Real, honest BBQ. I had the 2 meat combo with brisket, ribs, mac & cheese and potato salad. Best BBQ I have had since I was in Austin Texas! The owner was working hard with the rest of his employees and was the one to take my order. He seemed very nice and was helpful. I work within walking distance so I can see myself becoming a regular here. Canyons is an excellent addition to Castro Valley's food scene.“

“Food here is so good and a decent price for plates (I think it was $15 for a 1 meat plate and $20 for 2 meats ). Parked right outside Planet Fitness so a perfect post gym meal. The ribs are very juicy and the BBQ sauce he makes is delicious! The baked beans always hit along with the potato salad. Only complaint is that the bread sometimes gets soggy from the items in the box but that can easily be fixed. Definitely one of my favorite quick BBQ spots and I highly recommend giving him a try!“

“It is so great to find that hayward finally has some good Chinese bbq! I no longer have to drive far when I crave for some roasted duck! And that was exactly what I ordered today. It is fresh with good flavor. You know it’s a legit Chinese roasted duck when you can taste the star anise! I will definitely return to try the other items! Pro tip - parking can be terrible, so just go further down the lot towards auto zone. There’s always plenty of parking there.“

The burgers are generously portioned and there is enough variety for anyone who finds themselves craving a burger but wants it to have unique ingredients. They have enough outdoor seating for larger groups. They offer a half/half of fried and onion rings, which we recommend, too!“

First-time and I am very impressed. Bandhan was great with some that you don't normally get at other places.

Ordered the Kimchi pancake, kimchi fried rice, tteokpokki, bulgogi and spicy pork. All great and very filling.

“I ordered the creme brulee online for pick up. I came in and it was already ready but then I wondered why it looked different. I was just going to go with it anyway but they called me few mins later to say that it was the wrong one and they fixed it for me and even brought it outside to my car. Thank you! “My experience was a mixed bag. The food was undeniably delicious, but my interaction with a male matured server/cashier left a sour taste in my mouth.

All the dishes were truly impressive. Each bite was a flavor explosion and equally scrumptious. The place knows what it's doing.

However, things took a turn for the worse when this matured server/cashier came over to my table. While I appreciate enthusiasm, this owner's brand of passion crossed into intrusive territory. He dominated the conversation. The real kicker came when he started micromanaging my dining experience, insisting I order fewer dishes and serve them on plastic containers. He said I wouldn’t be able to eat them all. I order two dishes so I can take it to go. I replied to him I could’ve eaten at McDonalds, but I want to eat on real plates and use real utensils.
Newsflash: if I'm capable of using a fork without guidance, let me enjoy my meal in peace!

While the food was great, the server/owner's overbearing demeanor put a damper on what could have been a fantastic dining experience. If Toppings Two Union City can work on striking a balance between attentive service and respecting customers' boundaries, I'd be more than happy to give them a glowing review. Until then, I'll recommend the food, but with a caveat: be prepared for a side of attitude.“

“This is a nice Thai BBQ place. We got Phad See-Ew with chicken, Chef's Special Seafood Combo Plate which came with Shrimps, scallops, mussels, squid. Fried shrimp & fried calamari, with a chicken fried rice. Everything was good except I felt the fried calamari and fried shrimp had to much breading on them we ended taking some of the breading off. Overall everything had good flavor, also the prices listed online are not the correct prices in store.“

I used to come here all the time when they first opened in 2017.

Their portions are big enough to feed 2 people, and I always grab the sauces to go.

Their Hawaiian BBQ Chicken plate is just as delicious as I remembered. I used to always get the Chicken Katsu as well.

“At the very beginning: this place is takeout only.
Very kind and friendly staff, and at-home atmosphere.
Good portion and taste of food. Would recommend roasted duck and chicken, both of which come with homemade sauces, especially the roasted duck sauce with nice meat fragrance. The roasted port is pretty good too. It’s just my personal preference of poultry.
The ingredients have good quality without too much fat, so you wouldn’t feel greasy when eating, which is the main reason I prefer here to Ranch 99 diary. And the price tends to be cheaper when you choose the whole duck/chicken, in which case you get a full box of treasure!
I have had enjoyable meals since the first time. Would definitely come back and try other dishes😋“
