Not sure if it’s worth $23-24 after tax. I can easily get this dish at a Chinese restaurant or Chinatown for cheaper.
I also wish the eggplant salad had less sauce because the aroma of star anise or sth was too much for me.“

“Tucked away on Mare Island, this little coffee shop is amazing. They use local coffee beans, and the vibe is so relaxed. They are good friendly, with a water bowl in front, and a really neat patio in back.

The coffee shop itself is an old, kinda Victorian style house where they have transformed the whole bottom level into a coffee shop/seating area. There are photos of Mare Island from when it was a US Navy base. It's very cool.

Plus right now they have it all decorated for Halloween. Highly recommend this place. Good first date option, provides a lot of conversation topics.

“This is a top go to spot for me. I’m not always around during their hours, or forget the options of places, so I get something from here about once every 6 weeks. As vegan I either get the falafel sandwich or plate. I prefer the plate. It amazes me how simple the combination of vegetables and sauces are, and yet it’s so flavorful. I feel full and healthy after eating at this joint and the people working there have such a nice vibe. If vegan they will swap out hummus for the yogurt based items.“

“I saw someome make a TikTok about this place and immediately knew I had to add that to my list. I headed out to Berkeley on a Friday morning to try it out and I bought a friend who isnt a big fan of Thai and or Asian food. I was thankful to experience this style of northern Thai cuisine I believe the order Tanzie referred to it as. The hospitality and service was above average. I enjoyed all of my food and so did my friend. The pork jowl was agreed to be are favorite out of the all the dishes we tried. Very juicy , flavorful and just all around deliscious topped off with that crispy fried garlic. The brown rice over that soft scrambled "lava egg" was to die for paired with the savory tomato based minced pork that I ordered extra spicy of course. The star of the show that me and my friend both agreed on had to be the "prik nam pla" which I would describe as a sweet and spicy vinegar or fish sauce based dipping sauce accompanied by a nice punch of spice from the thai chili peppers. I dont have any complaints whatsoever and I will definitely be back.“

I think the tables were slightly close to each other, creating an intimate environment but also easier to hear others talk. “We’ve always been thin crust pizza fans, have never tasted authentic NY style pizza, though we have had Napoli-style pizza several times in Rome, and we gotta say, the crust here is AMAZING!! The only slight change that I think would make it taste even better is if there was a bit more salt in the dough. Other than that, the bottom of the pizza was crisp, and the crust was airy and crisp with a slight chew. The crust was so delicious that we saved all our uneaten crusts to bring home for later, could not bear to throw them away (unlike other, more bready crusts). 😆 The pepperoni pizza was our favorite (so flavorful), with the sausage being a close second. The margherita was nice with the fresh basil, but could have used a sprinkling of salt. Our younger son really wanted to try the corn pizza, but we could only manage to finish 3 pizzas with our family of 7, so he has already declared that this will be his pick for his birthday meal, and that he will be getting the corn pizza. 😆 Wish it were closer to us (we live around 30 mins away), but it is not too far for special occasions! From where we live, comparatively, Mountain Mike’s and Porky’s Pizza Palace would be rated 2 or 3 out of 10 and Spinning Dough would be 9/10! Would totally buy it frozen if they offered that, it is that good! Was also a treat for the kids to watch the owner (who is super, super nice!) toss the dough and assemble the pizzas. Thank you for the delicious meal!“
